Czech Airlines JSC is one of the first airlines on the planet. In 6 years she will celebrate her centenary.

Back in October 1923, the government of what was then Czechoslovakia decided to create a national airline and called it Československé aerolinie (Czechoslovakian Airlines) or CSA for short. This abbreviation has survived to this day in the form of a logo. Since 1994, the official name of the company has been České aerolinie (Czech Airlines) or Czech Airlines in English.

3 years after its founding, CSA became one of the members of IATA (International Air Transport Association). In 2001, it joined the global aviation alliance SkyTeam, which united more than 20 carriers from 4 continents.

It started operating on October 6, 1923 and immediately received the status of the national state Czechoslovak airline. The company then changed its original name ČESKÉ AEROLINIE to Czech Airlines.

Three weeks later, in October 1923, the first flight from Prague to Bratislava took place. At first, planes flew only within Czechoslovakia. 7 years later, in 1930, the first international flight Prague-Zagreb took place.

A memorable photo from the first international flight of České aerolinie.

For almost 15 years, all ČSA flights were operated without flight attendants on board, and only in 1937 did the first flight attendants appear on line flights. The airline began to care about the comfort of passengers.

1957 The Il-12 plane from Československé Státní Aerolinie landed in Paris.

1958 Airplane Tu-104. Soviet aircraft manufacturing was in demand at that time.

From then to this day the airline constantly growing and improving. Like every company, Czech Airlines has successes and failures. However, management is committed to ensuring that ČSA proudly bears the title of national airline. Therefore, there are more and more “ups” and recognitions over the years. From passenger reviews - Valentina:

“I was flying from the Czech Republic to Belgium. Check-in went very quickly, the remarkable thing is that when they were already on board, the company employees announced that passengers with children would go through first, and then everyone else. I have never encountered anything like this, I think the mothers were very pleased. The flight was 1 hour 20 minutes, we offered a hot sandwich for breakfast, and there were plenty of drinks. The staff were very helpful, but what I liked most was the soft landing.

The crew and flight attendants are attentive and polite. They also have very beautiful uniforms in corporate colors.

It seems that here they are - clouds, and the plane is already rapidly heading down and landing very smoothly. I like it when I sat down, as if on a pillow. After such a landing, the fear of flying disappears.”
