In Phuket, tuk-tuks work like taxis, so travel on this island will cost much more than in Pattaya. As such, there is no public transport in Phuket. Centenarians usually rent a motorbike and move around the island on it.
If you need to move to another city or island, a budget airline such as Air Asia may be your best option. Even a flight to a neighboring country, such as Cambodia, will not exceed $50. better in advance.
