Transfer Larnaca – Limassol

If you are traveling with a group or with children, then it will be most convenient to get to the desired point in Limassol in advance. You will be met with a sign at the airport, helped with your luggage and taken directly to your hotel.

It is much more convenient than a bus - we tested it ourselves. And if there are more than 2 people, then the difference in cost will be very small.

Transfer prices from Larnaca Airport are as follows (per car):

  • small car for 3 passengers – from 41 euros
  • economy or comfort class car for 4 people – 46-57 euros
  • business class car (3 passengers) – from 64 euros
  • minivan (up to 7 passengers) – from 73 euros

There are also more spacious minivans; you can see the cost of travel for them.

The transfer can be ordered on the website. It’s convenient that there is a Russian-language support service.

Our experience. We ordered a transfer from Larnaca airport to an apartment in Limassol when we were vacationing in Cyprus in September.

The driver met us at the airport and drove us home in a Mercedes in 45-50 minutes. We were completely satisfied with the trip and then also ordered a return transfer in Russia.

One way ticket price – 9 euros for adults and 4 euros for children (up to 12 years old). The ticket can be purchased from the driver.

The bus will not be convenient for everyone, as it only makes 2 stops:

  • in front of Limassol (the area is called “Tourist Area”)
  • in Limassol (St. George Havouzas Bus Stop)

Both stops are not very convenient for tourists: you will have to change to another bus or take a taxi to get to the hotel.

Map with stop locations:

Tourist Area

The stop is located a few kilometers from Limassol, opposite the Grand Resort hotel.

If your hotel is located next to the first line in Limassol, get off at this stop and wait city bus No. 30. It travels along the entire coastline of the city and makes many stops - choose the one closest to your hotel.

The cost of a ticket for bus No. 30 is 1.5 euros.

Limassol bus number 30 runs every 10-20 minutes from 06:00-06:20 to 22:30-23:40 (depending on the time of year and day of the week).

The exact schedule, list of stops and a map of the entire route No. 30 can be viewed.

St. George Havouzas Bus Stop (Limassol)

In my opinion, the stop is not very well located - only 4 city bus routes pass through it (No. 4, 10, 60 and 61), and they are not suitable for most tourists, since they pass far from the sea (see bus routes on this website) .

It would be more convenient to take a taxi to the hotel (though it’s not a fact that you’ll be able to quickly catch a car) or get off at the Tourist Area stop and take bus No. 30, which runs along the sea.

How to get back

Everything is the same, but in reverse order:

  • or get to the St. stop. George Havouzas and there take the express train to Larnaca airport
  • or from the nearest bus stop No. 30, go to the Tourist Area and there transfer to the express train to the airport

Our experience. The apartment we rented through Airbnb was located near the sea, so we took bus number 30 to the Tourist Area and waited there for the bus to Larnaca Airport. The whole journey took about 2 hours.

Be careful: there are several bus stops near the Tourist Area, but only one of them has a stop for the Airport Express.

Hermes Airport Larnaca is 6 km away. from the city, which means that if you don’t have things, for example one backpack, then you can easily walk to your hotel, especially if it is located near the airport. For example, such popular hotels as Cactus or Larco Hotel. The journey will take about 1 hour; you will have to walk along the sidewalk past the salt lake of Larnaca, which dries up in the summer.

This option is relevant if there is a strict economy regime or you just want to take a walk. To make it easier to navigate, I recommend the free mobile app Maps.me.

If the number of things allows you to walk to the stop at the airport and to your hotel upon arrival, then you should take the bus. We need bus number 425, which runs from Larnaca airport to the city, along the Phinikoudes embankment to the bus station opposite the Larnaca marina (at the end of the embankment).

We buy tickets from the driver. He needs to tell him where you are going - a hotel, an address in Larnaca or a landmark, he will stop as close as possible to your destination. The bus follows the route, but may stop outside the stop, if possible. Many drivers speak Russian. All drivers are very polite, smiling and responsive!

The price to the center of Larnaca is about 10 euros according to the meter. Not often, but you come across cunning taxi drivers like ours who offer to drive without a meter for 15 euros, politely send them in all four directions.

We rent a car on the Myrentacar website, which brings together most local rental companies. The prices are good, 24/7 Russian-speaking support, I have used them 6 times in three years. There are no complaints, the conditions are stated transparently, so you can always find an acceptable option.

The price for renting a car like a Ford Focus or KIA Picanto is 15-18 euros in the low season and 30-35 euros in the high season per day. Details about rent a car in Cyprus you can read the article:
