Patong is the best beach in Phuket for lovers of nightlife and fun. The beach is the most popular place youth, because life is in full swing there, and the fun lasts around the clock.

A family holiday in Phuket is an almost ideal choice for those who want to travel to Thailand with a child (especially a small one). It’s hard to find a better place in the country; there are practically no shortcomings here. True, the choice of the beach where you will live plays a big role.
Let's look at this issue in detail, as well as all the pros and cons of holidays on the island of Phuket.
pros
1. Easy to get to.
This indicator is especially important for those with small children. There are direct flights from Russia to Phuket. Minibuses and taxis transport you from the airport to the beaches. The nearest ones (Nai Yang, Naithon) can be reached in 10 minutes. It will take more time if you are in the central ones (Patong, Karon, Kata) - 40 minutes. It takes about an hour to get to the southernmost one (Nai Harn). For comparison - to Pattaya from the airport it takes about 2 hours by bus, to Koh Chang - 5 hours (plus a ferry), to the beaches of Ao Nang and Railay in Krabi you will spend 3-3.5 hours by taxi from Phuket, to Lanta - 5 h, to Samui you will generally have to transfer to a local flight. The worst option is Koh Phangan. There, you first need to fly to Samui, and then go to the pier and take a ferry to the island.
2. Sea.
Anyone who goes to Phuket on vacation, of course, wants their child to swim in the clean sea. On the island this indicator is at a high level, except that in Patong it is worse (but much better than in Pattaya).
3. Well-developed infrastructure.
If you are traveling to Phuket with a child, you can be sure that there is everything your child needs here: baby food, medicine, toys, strollers, cribs, all sorts of things for swimming (inflatable rings, inflatable houses, etc.) . Most beaches have pharmacies and clinics. The transport network is well developed, there are many roads, so it won’t take you long to get to the doctor or store. But here you need to choose the right one, which we will talk about in the next paragraph.
4. Beaches.
To ensure that your holiday with a child in Phuket does not cause any trouble and that you enjoy it, you need to take your choice of beach seriously. We will briefly describe each in terms of family vacations.
Patong is the most popular and noisy beach. There are a lot of people, including on the coast. However, the beach is wide and your child will have enough space to splash around in the shallow water, build sand castles, etc. The infrastructure is most developed here - there is one of the largest shopping centers in 
island - Jangceylon with Big C and Robinson hypermarkets, as well as a children's play area Mario Zone. You can buy everything there - diapers, baby food, toys, and strollers! There are a lot of pharmacies. The main thing in Patong is to stay away from the city, where there is roaring music coming from the bars half the night. This place is a training ground for adult games, not children's. The downside of Patong is the dirtiest sea on the island.
Karon, Kata, Kata Noi - these three beaches follow one another, are located close to each other and are considered the most popular for family holidays. Unlike Patong, it is calm here, the infrastructure is well developed (pharmacies, shops), although there are no shopping centers or hypermarkets (you can go to Patong for them - just 10-20 minutes and you are there). The first two beaches are very long, so there is plenty of free space for children to play. There aren't very many people.
Rawai is not suitable for families with children. In fact, this is not a beach, since there is practically no sand. Full of fishing boats on the coast and in the bay.
Nai Harn is a pretty nice place, calm, but the infrastructure is not particularly developed, although there are pharmacies and shops in the village, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the coast. From here to Phuket Town there is a city bus for 50 baht. And there’s plenty of everything there: hypermarkets and clinics. The drive is about 40-50 minutes.
Minuses
1. High prices.
Rather, we can say that they are high in comparison with Pattaya and Bangkok, but quite low in comparison with Moscow and other large cities in Russia. The only thing that upsets us is the exorbitant prices for a taxi: to the neighboring beach it can cost 300 baht or more. Hotels are also somewhat more expensive than in other resorts and there are almost none on line 1, because... On most beaches there is an asphalt road near the beach.
2. Climate.
From May to November the sea is often choppy, the waves are very high, so there is no talk of any children's swimming. It is better to exclude a family vacation with a child in Phuket during this period, since it is quite possible that during the entire vacation you and your child will not be able to swim in the ocean. - From May to October, dangerous underwater currents occur off the coast of Phuket. A red flag on the beach is a sign that swimming is not allowed due to strong currents.
- Rains make the sea water cloudy, and the waves throw armfuls of algae ashore. Although the beaches are cleaned several times a day at this time, you don’t really want to swim in the muddy sea.

Taxi in Phuket is an expensive form of transport. Taxi drivers set fares themselves and do not hesitate to inflate them if you need to get to the hotel from a distant beach, and songthaews no longer operate. For a 10-kilometer trip (for example, from Patong to Karon), taxi drivers ask for up to 800 TNV, but persistent bargaining will reduce this price by at least half.

There is a playground for children. The rooms are cozy, well decorated and clean. They are neither big nor small. For adults, the hotel has a spa center. The hotel is located on the first line and the beach is a few minutes walk. There are enough sunbeds on it, the sand is clean. Near the hotel there is an exchange office, several small shops and cozy cafes.
Flaws
The morning menu is quite monotonous, but there are no complaints about the quality of the dishes. The soundproofing of the rooms leaves much to be desired. For now it’s only a paid one, it costs from 200 baht. For those who are accustomed to relaxing in five-star hotels, the level of comfort may seem insufficient. Personally, we felt that the rooms were too humid.
9. Sunset Beach Resort 4*
The northern part is the least noisy and more suitable for families with small children. This economical "children's" hotel in Phuket - Sunset Beach Resort, is located exactly there. It can hardly be called chic, but for a tourist with a minimum of pretensions it will be a completely suitable holiday destination.
Advantages
The beach is just a couple of minutes walk away. If you stay in the main building, then from the windows you will have a picturesque view of the surface of the Andaman Sea. There are several pools, the main one is very spacious and clean. In general, the hotel carefully maintains cleanliness and comfort. For a three star hotel the rooms are more than decent. The hotel restaurant pleases you not only with delicious and well-prepared dishes, but also with picturesque views from the veranda.
Flaws
Sound insulation in the rooms is poor. If you live close to a coastal highway, you may be bothered by traffic noise. The beach is not particularly comfortable for swimming - there is a sudden drop to depth and there are large stones.
10. PGS Hotels Casa del Sol 4*
If in doubt, which hotel to choose in Phuket with a child, then head on over and find PGS Hotels Casa del Sol. A special feature of this hotel is that its staff speaks Russian as well. If you need a personal guardian for your child, you can hire him for a fee. The Pegy Kids Club program is the envy of our preschools. The children are engaged in modeling, drawing, and in the mornings there is animation near the pool. Adults can play table tennis, billiards (for a fee), and go to the library. Kata beach is clean and convenient for families with children. The sea is clean. Free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel's public areas. There is a small shop right on the resort premises. In the neighborhoods adjacent to the hotel there are shops, cafes, and on the streets there are sellers of exotic delicacies. The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day, there is an expedited check-in and check-out procedure, and it has its own tour desk.
Flaws
The hotel is not on the first line, to get to Kata you have to cross the coastal road. His popularity leaves some imprint on the general atmosphere in the hotel. For example, some reviews mention independent evening discos under Larisa Dolina and other domestic methods of entertainment. Many tourists note that the hotel is worn out, the furniture in the rooms may be damaged, and the plumbing may not be fully functional. The abundance of children and, as a result, the constant hubbub also gets on some people’s nerves.
