Where to go in the Perm region for the weekend. One day in Perm: the main attractions and places of the city. Churches and Temples

The Perm region is the heart of Russia, a corner of pristine nature on the border of Europe and Asia. Here mountain ranges give way to fast rivers, dense gloomy forests give way to plains and fields. Over the many thousand-year history of the lands that the Perm region unites, hundreds of man-made wonders have been added to the amazing wonders of nature - monuments of culture and history, architecture and art. We will tell you about the most beautiful and interesting places in the region, introduce you to their history and local legends.

Stone City

Perhaps the most famous attraction of the Perm region is the Stone City - a natural pile of rocks and stones, reminiscent of narrow streets, walls with towers and loopholes, houses and squares of ancient fortified cities.

According to an ancient legend, many centuries ago there really was a rich city here, which was turned to stone by black magic. However, modern scientists are confident that the architecture of the Stone Town was created without human help - the channels in the rocks were washed out by the river that once flowed here.

Belogorsky Monastery

In 1894, a unique monument of wooden architecture of the 19th century was erected on the slope of the Ural White Mountain - St. Nicholas Missionary Monastery. However, just three years later a fire broke out, almost completely destroying the temple. The believers did not give up, and by 1917 a huge white stone cathedral in the neo-Byzantine style was erected on the same site. It was and remains the most grandiose in the Perm diocese.

Moleb anomalous zone

The region, called the Molebkin Triangle, is located on the border of the Perm Territory and the Sverdlovsk Region, not far from the Shumkovo station. Anomalous activity began to appear here relatively recently; the first strange phenomena were noticed here in 1988-1989.

According to many tourists and ufology researchers, in the territory of the Molebkin Triangle they observed UFO phenomena, the glow of the celestial spheres, sound and visual mirages. There have been cases of time slowing down or speeding up, and objects levitating.

Kungur Ice Cave

In the village of Filippovka, located 100 km from Perm, there is the famous Kungur Cave, discovered at the beginning of the 18th century. Its depth reaches 27 m, and its length is slightly less than 6 km, of which 1.5 km is accessible to visitors. The main attraction of the cave is ice crusts, huge frozen slabs, stalactites and stalagmites, the formation of which was made possible due to the amazing internal climate.

Every year, the Kungur Ice Cave is visited by more than 80 thousand tourists; at the entrance to it there is a hotel, restaurant, parking lot and other infrastructure facilities.

Architectural and Ethnographic Museum "Khokhlovka"

Khokhlovka is a unique museum of wooden architecture, in which 23 architectural monuments of the 17th-20th centuries are collected in the open air. Most buildings have thematic exhibitions, a stylized interior, and a characteristic historical atmosphere. The territory of the museum reaches 42 hectares. Ethnic festivals, cultural events, holidays and celebrations are regularly held in the surrounding area.

Museum of Wooden Sculpture in Parmailovo

The museum in Parmailovo (Kochevsky district of the Perm region), also known as the Yegor Utrobin Open-Air Museum of Wooden Sculpture, arose almost by accident. A rural woodcarver decorated his plot with amulets, which attracted the attention of the administration, which noted his talent and originality. Soon Egor Utrobin was allocated a plot of land where he located his works. Now the museum has many exhibits, most of which come from folk tales and legends.

Memorial Museum of the History of Political Repression "Perm-36"

Perm-36 is a Soviet maximum security colony for political prisoners and former law enforcement officers, located in the village of Kuchino, Chusovsky district. From 1992 to 1996, work was carried out to create a museum on the territory of the former forced labor camp. In the first years of its existence, the museum enjoyed popularity and patronage from the local administration, but by 2015, growing popular unrest and a number of rallies held due to the controversial nature of the exhibitions led to the closure of the complex. The further fate of Perm-36 is still unknown.

Shrines of Verkhne-Chusovskie Towns

The first settlements arose on the right bank of the Chusovaya River near Perm in the 16th century. Their history is connected with the activities of the legendary Ermak and Tryphon Vyatsky. The Lower towns are now hidden by the waters of the Kama Reservoir, and the location of the Upper towns is indicated by the modern village of Uspenskoye. The main attraction of this amazing place is the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God. Not far from it there flows a holy spring, which, according to the temple servants, is capable of healing many diseases.

Vishera Reserve

In the Krasnovishersky district in the very North-East of the Perm Territory there is an amazingly beautiful natural reserve. Its geography is determined by the western slopes of the Northern Urals and the watershed of the basins of three rivers: the Kama, Ob and Pechora. Legal address of the reserve: Krasnovishersk city, st. Gagarina, 36b. The virgin taiga forest of Vishora has never known an ax or a saw; it is dominated by spruce, fir, cedar, rowan and birch. Many plants and animals of the reserve are protected by the Red Book of the Russian Federation.

Usva pillars

The notorious pillars are a huge stone massif rising on the banks of the Usva River. Its composition is dominated by limestone, and ancient imprints and fossils found on the stones indicate that the sea once splashed on this place. Many caves and grottoes of the Usva Pillars served as a refuge for ancient people; the remains of fireplaces, weapons, and primitive tools are still found in them today. Tourists are attracted here by the splendor of the landscapes and the opportunity to try their hand at rock climbing and mountaineering.

Perm is the capital of the Perm region. The very location of this region suggests that this region is rich not only in history, but also in natural beauty. The Perm region is located at the junction of Europe and Asia.

What is Perm rich in?

The region has an extremely favorable geographical location, which, in turn, reveals enormous potential for the development of flora and fauna. Industry, culture, and architecture are developed here. But there are also protected places that were created by nature itself.

Perm is rich in historical and cultural attractions, as well as natural beauties that are definitely worth seeing.

This article will present the most beautiful places in Perm. The recommendations of experienced travelers were taken as a basis.

Stone City

This place has another unusual name - Devil's Settlement. Despite such an intimidating name, the city is considered one of the most beautiful places in Perm. Reviews from tourists indicate that you can feel an unusual atmosphere here. It is not for nothing that the popularity of this natural monument is growing rapidly every year.

In appearance, the complex resembles a town created from stone boulders. As in any other settlement, there are streets, avenues, arches and even a square. There are local residents too. Among them you can find representatives of the animal world (seals, rats), birds and even idols. Only they are all imprisoned in stone. There are many other stone blocks that resemble something from the fauna world.

There are legends about this place. According to the most common one, Stone Town was very beautiful in ancient times. Extraordinarily kind people lived there. The town was ruled by a king whose daughter was blind from birth. The girl dreamed of seeing the local beauty. One day a sorcerer came to the king and offered to cure his daughter. But it ended badly. As soon as the princess was healed, all the inhabitants of the town immediately turned to stone. Scientists find another explanation for this phenomenon, more mundane. In ancient times, a stormy river made numerous cracks with its waters.

From the heights of the rocks of the Stone Town, picturesque landscapes open up. The fabulously beautiful taiga of the Urals stretches before your eyes.

Tourists are advised to visit this place in autumn. The town is drowning in colors. But even in winter the mighty stones look majestic. In the summer, competitions and festivals are held in Kamenny Town. Actors perform scenes from famous productions in the open spaces of nature. The beautiful places of the city of Perm are also represented by natural objects that are located in its surroundings.

Plakun Waterfall

This place can easily be considered one of the most visited in Perm. And there is every reason for this. It is very beautiful here, especially in winter. Locals say that the waters of this waterfall can heal any ailment. Believers often come here because they consider the waterfall to be a holy spring.

This place is shrouded in legends, one of which is most often heard from local residents. They say that in these parts there lived a girl of unprecedented beauty. One day she fell in love with a beautiful young man. He was not distinguished by noble origin and did not have a lot of money. Her parents were against their union and did not allow the young couple to tie the knot. They forced their daughter to marry a rich, ugly old man. Then the couple decided to run away. But their attempt was unsuccessful. The guy was put in prison, and the girl was tied to a tree. She shed bitter tears for her lover. This is how the Plakun waterfall was formed over time. It is believed that its waters are those girlish tears.

In the cold, Plakun does not freeze completely. Its waters shimmer with many colors. All this looks like a real work of art created by nature itself.

Locals are sure that the monk Ilya lived in a rock not far from the waterfall. He treated all living beings; people made pilgrimages to this place several times a year. Over the years, this place began to be considered holy. It is believed that if you bathe in the waters of Plakun, you can recharge yourself with energy and health for the whole year.

The Perm region is famous not only for its natural beauty. There are many architectural buildings in Perm that amaze with their beauty.

Gribushin House

This building is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful in the city. Moreover, the building has the status of an architectural monument of the 19th century. In ancient times, merchants owned 5 houses, but only one has survived to this day. The building is one of a kind, with an unusual eclectic style. Not only tourists, but also local residents rush to see this architectural miracle. Many even believe that Pasternak depicted this very house in the famous novel Doctor Zhivago.

The construction of the building dates back to 1897. The project was developed by Perm architect A. B. Turchevich. The style of the building is modern. The house belonged to several owners, the last of which was the family of the philanthropist and public figure - S. M. Gribushin. The building owes its modern appearance to him.

The Gribushins lived in the house for more than 10 years. After the death of the head of the family in 1915, all other members lived there for another 4 years, and then moved abroad. The house was handed over to the authorities. During the October Revolution, the house served as a military hospital, an officer's shop and even a tuberculosis dispensary. Until 1988, the building housed a children's hospital.

Today, the scientific and cultural center of Perm is located in a completely restored building. The center began to actively revive cultural traditions. Dramatic performances and classical music concerts were often staged here.

Perm Art Gallery

In 1902, the art department of the industrial museum in Perm began its work. Over the years of work, a huge number of exhibits of ancient applied art and unusual sculptures have appeared in the museum. By 1920, there were so many works that it was decided to open an Art Museum. At first it operated on the basis of the Perm State Museum, and in 1936 it became an independent institution and received the status of a gallery.

Today it is the center of cultural life of the Perm region. In 1941, the main collections of the Russian Museum were brought here. The art gallery is one of the largest in the Urals. More than 43 thousand exhibits of not only domestic art, but also Western European works are presented here. You can find graphic objects, sculptures and other objects of art from Ancient Egypt, Tibet, India, China and Japan.

Art object "Happiness is just around the corner"

Selfie lovers will appreciate this monument. This is the most original object in Perm. It is located on the banks of the Kama River, opposite the Perm Museum.

The facility was installed in 2009. The monument consists of majestic scarlet letters installed on the parapet of the embankment. A positive inscription attracts the attention of not only tourists, but also local residents. The object rightfully tops the list of beautiful places in Perm for photo shoots.

They tried to demolish the monument several times, but this did not stop it from appearing on TV screens, appearing in domestic films and even videos of foreign performers.

The beauty of Perm also owes to the spiritual heritage of the region. There are many temples in the city, the appearance of which is worthy of admiration.

Ascension Church

The temple is a unique building in the neo-Russian style of the 20th century. The church is called Feodosievskaya in honor of Theodosius of Chernigov. This church was also called the merchant church, since most of the funds for the construction of the temple were provided by merchants. The main contribution to the construction was made by the merchant A. Babalov. For the construction of the temple, he provided land, building materials and his workers.

The Ascension Church is considered one of the most beautiful in Perm.

Beautiful places near Perm also await everyone.

Near the village of Khokhlovka, on a hill surrounded by picturesque nature, there is an amazing wooden town - an open-air museum. Everyone who visits this place will plunge into a world of harmony, tranquil nature and learn all the traditions of folk culture.

The Khokhlovka Ethnographic Museum occupies an area of 42 hectares. Here you can see several dozen architectural objects, the age of which dates back to the 18th-20th centuries.

Almost all monuments can be visited on your own, taking a real trip back in time. After visiting the museum, you can completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere of that time. The exhibitions include peasant houses, outbuildings, churches and even a fire station.

The museum began its work in 1981. Its construction began in 1969. The idea of creating this unique architectural monument was voiced by local architect A. S. Terekhin. Several other people supported him. Kukin advised placing the museum near the village of Khokhlovka.

His possessions include more than 7.5 thousand representatives of flora, growing both in open and closed ground. The Botanical Garden may well top the list of the most beautiful places in Perm for walking. Walking along the local paths, you can admire and inhale the aroma of blooming lilacs, roses, irises, lilies and other specimens of the floral world. Of particular value are greenhouse plants brought from the tropics.

The Perm Botanical Garden presents a whole complex of “Ecological Trail” exhibitions. Here you can see collections of plants growing in different climatic zones.

The Botanical Garden regularly conducts excursions for everyone, as well as exhibitions.

I would like to introduce the reader to the beautiful natural places of Perm.

Kama River

Many believe that the Kama River is the main attraction of Perm.

It is better to go on a river walk in good weather. Local residents recommend starting from the embankment. The history of the place for walks and meetings in Perm begins in the 19th century. At the same time, part of the Kama coast was concreted. Then construction stopped, as the river bank was divided between private individuals who could not come to an agreement. There was a railway nearby, which also hindered the improvement. Today the embankment does not look too attractive. It can only be accessed in certain places. But the view of the river from it is stunning. On the banks of the Kama you can relax, admiring the picturesque beauty and listening to the sound of the current.

Incredibly beautiful places along the Perm – Dobryanka highway can be seen by everyone moving in this direction.

Chapel of Alexander Nevsky

At the entrance to Dobryanka there is a cute chapel. It is small, but looks very atmospheric. This is a mini-replica, but it is in no way inferior to the original. Today there is a playground around the chapel where loving couples and mothers with strollers walk. This place is often chosen by newlyweds for a photo shoot. Photos with the chapel in the background are very bright. Along the Perm-Dobryanka highway, the natural beauties of the Urals open up.

Where should photography connoisseurs go in Perm?

Beautiful places in Perm for a photo shoot are represented by several objects. The memory of the city will be presented by photographs near its unusual monuments. The monument to the Coward, the Dunce and the Experienced especially attracts the attention of tourists. The heroes of the beloved cinematic masterpiece “Prisoner of the Caucasus” welcome guests in front of the “Crystal” cinema. The monument was erected at the expense of the cinema owner. These are not all the beautiful photo spots in Perm, but locals and tourists consider them the main ones.
