Specialization of medical resorts in the Czech Republic

Almost all resorts in the Czech Republic are able to offer treatment for diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Today, more and more people prefer to combine business with pleasure, remembering precious time and the need to manage “everything at once.” A simple vacation trip becomes even more beautiful if it is combined with the opportunity to improve your health. Us and our children.

It is important to remember that indications for spa treatment in children and adults are sometimes different.

This means that, for example, the same diseases in children or adolescents can be effectively cured at some resorts, but not at others. Bludov is considered a children's resort, where children are successfully treated for metabolic diseases, respiratory diseases, musculoskeletal disorders and diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract. The Lazne Kynžvart resort specializes in the rehabilitation of children with skin diseases, as well as with disorders of the respiratory system.

    Treatment methods

In the Czech Republic, it is customary to divide the main treatment methods into four groups. The first two groups are traditional, but the first is based on classical natural healing methods, and the second is a little more advanced. For example, if the first group involves the use of mud, springs, gas, climate in general, then the second group also adds magnetism, electric current and much more to these methods.

The third group of healing methods is not purely therapeutic, and includes the use of various oriental practices, wellness, massage, yoga, and spa treatments.

The fourth group is the farthest from treatment as such, but is also capable of bringing benefits with its methods. This includes active recreation, walks, and cosmetic procedures designed to bring peace, a sense of vigor, comfort and pleasure to a person’s state.

    Procedures

Modern treatment in the Czech Republic cannot be imagined without procedures such as inhalations, herbal medicine, phytobalneotherapy, heliotherapy, endrogenic breathing, breathing practices and exercises, mud wraps, herbal baths, aerotherapy, ergotherapy, Kneipp treatment, intestinal lavage, iodine-bromine and mineral baths, radon, sulfur, carbon dioxide baths, Scottish showers, all types of massage, hardening and much more.

All these procedures are both health-improving and preventive in nature. They are indicated for people with certain diseases. Each of the procedures or types of therapy was developed by specialists, doctors, biologists, and chemists. For example, the widely used Scottish shower consists of cold and hot water fired from a distance of three meters. This method allows you to invigorate the body and spirit, stimulating blood circulation, completely renewing the body's processes.

Another simple treatment method - taking mineral water inside - also turns out to be very effective and useful. Everything ingenious is simple: just drink the mineral waters of the springs according to the instructions of the sanatorium doctor. When drinking water, Czech mineral water exerts its therapeutic effect, restoring impaired secretion of the stomach and intestines, providing an anti-inflammatory effect, relieving spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, eliminating the appearance of gastrointestinal dyspeptic disorders, increasing the absorption of nutrients and vitamins.

The use of natural gas is possible in Marianske Lazne - the Maria Spring is a powerful source of natural healing gas. The procedure for taking gas in the form of special gas envelopes can immediately relieve unwanted symptoms of diseases, lower blood pressure, and improve the activity of the heart and blood supply. This gas is also used in the form of subcutaneous injections for diseases of the joints, spine, coronary heart disease, and sexual problems.

Treatment in the Czech Republic is a real godsend for those who care about their health, especially the health of their loved ones.

The opportunity to combine treatment with a relaxing holiday is truly in keeping with our times. Although these resorts have occupied first places in terms of the level and usefulness of recreation for more than a century and have been widely known throughout the world since the Middle Ages.

For the third century, residents of Europe have known the concept of “resort”. In the 18th century, such places were loved by the then nobility from high society, who realized that here they could relax beautifully, and at the same time treat various diseases. Thermal springs in the Czech Republic became the points where the first resorts began to form, which gradually turned into real policies, having their own infrastructure and living their own lives.

Thermal spas in the Czech Republic

Most of the country's territory is occupied by mountains. Naturally, for the interior of the earth, the process of their formation does not happen just like that. In the deep layers of rocks, faults occur, from which cracks run in all directions. Underground water begins to seep through them to the surface, squeezed upward by colossal pressure. Along the way, it is enriched with minerals and warms up, sometimes even to significant temperatures.

Local residents have noticed groundwater seeps for a long time. The miraculous power they have Czech hot springs, became involved several centuries ago. Considering the level of development of medicine at that time, mineral springs actually healed people from many diseases. Gradually, the settlements that spontaneously formed in the places where the miraculous waters emerged grew into real cities, which later became famous resorts.

Almost all thermal resorts in the Czech Republic are concentrated in the so-called Spa Triangle, which includes Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne and Frantisekovy Lazne. This is the most famous tourist region, which is visited annually by tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people who want to relax and improve their own health.

The thermal resorts of the Czech Republic are rightfully headed by Karlovy Vary. This famous resort occupies a leading place in terms of attendance. Only Prague, being the capital of the country, can boast a large number of visitors, but it is not a resort.

Karlovy Vary water has long become a brand. Its therapeutic effect is due to the presence of a significant amount of minerals in it, of which there are more than 6 grams per liter of water. This complex of mineral elements produces an amazing effect when exposed to the human body.

With the help of mineral waters, the intestinal microflora is improved, inflammatory processes are eliminated, toxins are eliminated, metabolism and digestion are normalized. Czech doctors have proven that a three-week course of drinking the local healing water can replace taking 300 tablets.

There are thirteen thermal springs in Karlovy Vary. Twelve of them are used by doctors for treatment. One type of such treatment is drinking treatment, prescribed to patients by a spa doctor. The most famous among the local springs is Vridlo-sprudel, which throws its hot water upward in a ten-meter fountain. The underground heat heated it to a temperature of +72°C.

Among connoisseurs, this modest town is referred to as “mini-Karlovy Vary.” In terms of the number of holidaymakers treated here, this is indeed the case. However, this does not apply to the quality and quantity of mineral springs, which are amazingly diverse. Some of the springs are more suitable for healing the kidneys and joints, while others are more suitable for improving metabolism and treating the stomach.

It is allowed to drink local water only from special porcelain sippy cups with thin spouts through which water flows. Thus, the teeth of holidaymakers are protected from darkening.

Marianske Lazne is considered the quietest and most peaceful place in the Czech resort Triangle. Dog walking and cycling are prohibited on its streets, but you can ride in a horse-drawn carriage, which gives the town a special elegance.

    Frantiskovy Lazne

The symbol of this city is the bronze boy František, sitting near the main spring and holding a fish in his hands. In total, there are 21 mineral springs gushing out of the ground at the resort. There is a legend in the city according to which a woman who touches the bronze Frantisek will definitely become pregnant. This is reflected in the contingent of holidaymakers. Usually they are ladies who came here to treat nerves and infertility.

The resort towns are located among picturesque wooded mountains and hills along the border with Germany. In the 19th century, it was considered the Cote d'Azur of Habsburg Europe, where the elite of European society loved to relax and receive treatment at the balneological resorts.

Review of treatment in sanatoriums in the Czech Republic

Currently, sanatoriums in the Czech Republic are no less popular. Here guests have the opportunity to receive individual therapy based on thermal waters and mud treatments. The duration of treatment in sanatoriums in the Czech Republic depends on the disease. Basically, two weeks spent “on the waters” is enough for the body to cleanse itself of toxins. And freeing the body from toxins is the main thing in any treatment.

In addition to the basic balneological procedures, sanatoriums in the Czech Republic provide a full-fledged wellness program, the basis of which is a healthy lifestyle. This is a combination of proper nutrition, proper physical activity and giving up bad habits, which contributes to overall health and strengthening the immune system.

    Rest and leisure

Guests of resort towns receive effective treatment and good rest. In the vicinity of the resorts there are hiking trails and organized bicycle tracks. Visiting and local artists work in open areas during the spring-autumn season. It is possible to visit working churches and monasteries, and thematic excursions are conducted to different parts of the Czech Republic. And, of course, this means comfortable hotel accommodation with a choice of additional services, restaurant meals with exquisite cuisine, and all kinds of spa treatments. Depending on the choice of comfort, the number of procedures taken, visits to specialized doctors and other services, prices in sanatoriums in the Czech Republic for treatment of one person for two weeks will vary from 700 € to 1200 €, that is, from approximately 50 € to 85 € per day.

    Karlovy Vary

The popularity and fame of the city as one of the best thermal resorts in the world rightfully belongs to Karlovy Vary. Its history began in 1350 - the moment of its foundation by the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV. According to legend, the first healing spring with “living water” was discovered by the king of Bohemia during a hunt. He saw how water from a small lake restored the strength of a wounded deer. At this place “it was ordered to found a city” so that the courtiers could be treated here. The city received its name in honor of Emperor Charles.

This cozy town is located in the West of the Czech Republic. Sanatoriums, hotels, boarding houses are built on stepped terraces. Thanks to this layout, the city is literally buried in alleys and parks, of which there are 26 in Karlovy Vary. The Victorian spirit is preserved in the architectural ensembles of the city and romantic streets with an abundance of street cafes. Liszt, Beethoven and Mozart rested and were treated here at one time. “Treatment on the waters” was carried out by Turgenev, Gogol and A. Tolstoy. Many famous personalities supported their health. It is impossible to list them all over the seven centuries of the resort’s existence.

    Thermal springs

Of the sixty springs discovered in Karlovy Vary, 13 are used for healing purposes. A feature of all springs is the same chemical composition. The temperature in the springs and the saturation of carbon dioxide are different. This is what plays a role when prescribing a specific source for a specific disease.

The tradition of preventive treatment that has developed over many centuries is based on the unique healing properties of water from thermal springs in the sanatoriums of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. Prices for medical tours vary. And tours are formed individually, based on the impact of balneological procedures on the body. The water from their miraculous springs helps restore metabolic processes in the body, removes toxins, turns kidney stones into sand and removes it from the body. The processes occur due to the intake of water from a thermal source of a certain temperature.

    Doctors' appointments

The most famous spring at No. 1 is “Virgilo”, a real natural geyser that emits 2000 liters of hot (72°C) mineral water every minute from a depth of 2.5 km. It is useful to be near a source and breathe air saturated with microelements. As in many sanatoriums in the Czech Republic, people with diseases of the musculoskeletal system (source No. 2, 3, 5), gastrointestinal tract (source No. 6, 7, 8 10), diabetes mellitus and its complications are treated here (source No. 9, 10), for periodontal disease and caries (source No. 4). If we talk about reviews from people undergoing treatment and simply vacationing in Karlovy Vary, these will be large volumes of books of gratitude and a thin notebook of reviews from those who are dissatisfied with something. And there are always such people. The resort's attendance speaks for itself.

    Frantiskovy Lazne

The spa town of Frantiskovy Lazne became a balneological resort in 1827. Opened and there are 23 of them, they determined the specialization of sanatorium-resort treatment. This is a multi-functional resort in the Czech Republic. Sanatoriums use complex treatment with sulfur-ferruginous mud and mineral waters for diseases such as infertility and gynecological pathologies. All types of balneology are used in the treatment of the musculoskeletal system and the cardiovascular system.

Many vacationers like the fairly comfortable Pavlik sanatorium. It combines a good level of amenities, excellent nutrition and a strong therapeutic base. Those who come for treatment of gynecological problems undergo all procedures at the Cisarske Lazne treatment center. Throughout the Czech Republic, prices in sanatoriums are approximately the same. The cost of accommodation for one person for 7 days in Pavlik, three meals a day, 18 procedures, 2 doctor’s appointments, a drinking course and laboratory tests will cost 300 euros, which is approximately 43 € per day. In addition to balneological procedures, city guests have the opportunity to actively relax in the water amusement park. Green fields await mini golf lovers. The doors of fitness centers and tennis courts are open. Fans of spas and solariums will find time to visit them. There is even an opportunity for fishing enthusiasts to catch fish in specially designated areas. You can simply take a walk around the city, which is practically buried in parks with an area of 250 hectares.

    Marianske Lazne

The resort town of Marianske Lazne, called the “Czech health factory,” is located on hilly terrain surrounded by pine forests. Natural healing springs were discovered in a relatively small area. Their number today is about 140. The effects of healing waters were experienced by monks from the Tepla Monastery in 1528. Many springs were surrounded by forests and swamps, so there was no access to them for a long time. From what was available, local healers used the water for medicinal purposes. Only in 1818 Marianske Lazne was declared a public resort.

The mild climate allows you to come for relaxation or treatment at any time of the year and enjoy literally every minute spent at the resort. Guests of the city can stay in hotels or, by purchasing a medical tour, in the sanatoriums of Marianske Lazne in the Czech Republic. Tour prices can be pre-negotiated at travel agencies where tours are scheduled, depending on the type of disease and the number of days of stay in the sanatorium. They are not much different from the same ones in Karlovy Vary.

    Mineral water from 7 springs

The chemical composition of water in sources is different. It all depends on the rock through which the water passes, becoming saturated with minerals and salts. This is simple acidic water, saturated with Glauber’s salts, alkaline-salty and ferrous carbonate. Each of them is used to treat a specific disease or related illness. Water from some sources is directly supplied to the sanatoriums. Water from 7 well-known springs is used: Rudolf, Caroline, Ambrose, Lesnaya, Krestovaya, Ferdinand and Maria.

The water from Rudolph's spring is the most used. Its diuretic properties are used in the treatment of the urinary tract and are recommended for people with osteoporosis.

    Sanatoriums in Poděbrady

The Czech Republic is rich in resort places. Poděbrady is one of the ancient cities with the use of mineral water in spa treatment. The city is located on the banks of the Elbe. There are a large number of mineral springs in Podebrady, the waters of which have the unique property of providing blood supply to the body naturally. That is why the resort is popular among people with diseases of the cardiovascular system. There are 13 springs open in the city. Water contains a large number of trace elements, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.

Such sanatoriums as “Libenski” and “Zamechek” have gained particular popularity. The sanatorium package usually includes accommodation in a sanatorium or resort hotel, full board meals and a treatment program, depending on the disease. The sanatoriums offer a 55+ Spa Comfort tour, the meaning of which is relaxation and rest. The duration is short, only 6 days.

Spa Teplice in the Czech Republic

This is a resort town whose thermal springs were discovered and began to be used in the 12th century. Since that time, the little-known city has turned into a resort center not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Europe. It is called “little Paris,” which famous composers Liszt, Beethoven, and Chopin loved to visit. Russian Tsar Peter I was also “on the waters”.

The pride of Teplice and the Czech Republic is the Beethoven sanatorium. Here, rare thermal waters of Greenhouses with a temperature of 39-44°C, containing radon, fluorine and a large number of trace elements, are used for treatment. All this enhances the effect of treatment. Currently, the resort is considered the most rich in modern equipment, where the latest technologies are used to treat diseases such as disorders of the nervous system in all its manifestations.

Well, those who are not susceptible to the above ailments will receive a wonderful relaxing holiday according to weekend programs.

The Czech Republic, a small country, is rich in thermal springs, the water of which cures many ailments.
