By car:
Direction Italy - Slovenia, A4 motorway Venezia - Trieste, exit from the Latisana motorway. Continue on SS354 for about 20 minutes in the direction of Lignano.
Destination Austria. Motorway A23 Tarvisio – Undine, then A4 towards Venezia, exit Latisana motorway. Continue on SS354 for about 20 minutes in the direction of Lignano.
By train:

From Venice it can be reached by taking the E70 motorway to Portogruaro, taking the SS14 to Latisana and after the last turn right onto the SR354. The total length of the route is 102 kilometers. And due to the fact that there is an international airport in the capital of the former Republic of Venice, this transport route is very relevant during the season for everyone vacationing in these places.
So, a bus runs from Venice to Lignano Sabbiadoro every four hours. The time it takes him to cover this distance is 3 hours 5 minutes.
The cost is 7-10 euros. You can also come to Lignano Sabbiadoro by train, but there are some caveats. And the main one is that the train goes only to Latisana. And from there either by bus (every 4 hours for 3-4 euros), or by taxi (always, but for 20-40 euros depending on the time of day).
A rented car or your own is not discussed here, but these are the cheapest options, especially if you are not going to lie on the beach all the time.
It is clear that when vacationing near Venice, it would be simply blasphemy not to visit this beautiful city. And from Lignano Sabbiadoro you can get to it, in addition to the type of transport listed above, also by pleasure boats going along this route. They depart from the Lignano Riviera pier.
By the way, Lignano has the largest yacht harbor in Italy. It can accommodate more than 500 houses on the water.
