Holidays and weekends in June: how we relax. In June, Russians will have an additional weekend in honor of Russia Day. Weekends in June

The long-awaited summer has finally arrived! Do you want to know how many days off the first month of the warm season will give us? June marks several holidays, some of which have national and international status. From this article you will learn how the holidays will take place in June 2018 in Russia and other countries of the post-Soviet space.

For residents of the Russian Federation, Russia Day, which falls on the 12th, is of particular interest. Even those who can hardly be called an ardent patriot are interested in this day, since work schedules throughout the country change during the event. Let's reveal a secret - in June 2018, Russians will have the opportunity to rest for three days in a row! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s talk about the holidays in order.

How are weekends handled?

According to the calendar program, the first month of summer includes two significant events - Children's Day (this holiday has international status) and Russia Day. However, on the territory of the Russian Federation, only the last event became a red day of the calendar.

As you can see, this year the Ministry of Labor decided to please its fellow citizens with a three-day mini-vacation. Accordingly, the Saturday day off, which fell on June 9, was moved to the 11th. Another pleasant surprise - the Saturday working day will be shortened by an hour, as required by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

International Children's Day

Humanity has long come to the conclusion that childhood can be considered the most beautiful time in life. In most cases, adults try to protect the child from all sorts of hardships and troubles. But, unfortunately, not every child has a happy childhood. There are quite a lot of orphans in this world, children with serious and chronic illnesses, as well as children who have become victims of domestic violence.

The need to create a special international Children's Day was first discussed at the World Geneva Conference held in 1925. It was decided to coincide with the event on June 1st. This Day became especially relevant after the end of the Second World War, one of the inevitable consequences of which was the appearance of a large number of orphans.

Children's Day, June 1, is a special holiday that has its own flag (30 states recognize it). As you can see, the flag is a green panel, on which 5 schematic human figures of different colors are depicted. The main message of this flag is harmony, tolerance towards people of different races, diversity as the norm for a prosperous life.

Russia Day (June 12)

Do you want to know what holiday is June 12th in Russia? According to its organizers, this day symbolizes national unity, as well as civil liberties. It was established in 1990, when the first president of the Russian Federation, Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin, was elected. This event was preceded by the signing of the law on the sovereignty of the Russian Federation.

Calendar weekends in 2018:

  • 10.06 - the beginning of the festive “three days”, Sunday
  • 11.06 - day off, moved from the 9th, Monday
  • 12.06 - Russia Day itself, official day off

On Wednesday, Russian citizens will have to return to their usual work routine. There is one consolation - it’s just a stone’s throw until next Saturday, and then it won’t be long until the next vacation!

By the way, have you ever heard what the Russian national anthem sounds like in a rock arrangement? If not, then we suggest you watch this short video for Russia Day 2018!

Russia Day or Russian Independence Day is celebrated annually on June 12. This national holiday is a day off. June 12, 2018 falls on Tuesday, which means we will rest on this day. The Russian Ministry of Labor took the initiative to move the day off June 9 (Saturday) to June 11 (Monday). A good idea: if the final decision is in favor of this proposal, it turns out that we will rest for three days in a row. You can plan a more or less long-term vacation.
So what we have:

the 9th of June(Saturday) - - working day (the day off is moved to June 11)
June 10th(Sunday) - day off
June 11 (Monday) - public holiday (postponed from June 9)
12 June(Tuesday) - holiday day off

June weekends and holidays (calendar)

Russia Day is a relatively new holiday. On this day in 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia was adopted, and this is what this holiday was called until 2002. It was on this day, but already in 1991, that the first presidential elections took place. In recent years, this important public holiday has acquired, thanks to the attention of the state, more and more patriotic features, but still for many June 12 is just another day off.

By the way, June 12, 2018 will mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of the brilliant Russian ballerina Marina Semyonova, the best student of Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova. Marina Timofeevna was not only a wonderful dancer, but also a talented teacher who carefully passed on the best traditions of Russian ballet to subsequent generations.

The holidays do not end on June 12, 2018, because on June 14 the final of the FIFA World Cup will begin in Russia - an extraordinary and, undoubtedly, festive event, because Russia is the first country to host such a prestigious tournament. Of course, you shouldn’t expect additional days off in honor of this event, but is that really the point? A real holiday lives in the heart, not in the calendar.

The work and rest schedule for June 2018 is of interest to ordinary citizens of Russia, people holding leadership positions, and visitors from other countries. The first summer month differs from the other two in the long weekend associated with the national celebration, Russia Day. To ensure proper rest on these dates, the non-working day is moved from Saturday to Monday. In order to properly plan your affairs for this period, it is better to find out about the June holidays in advance.

Rest days in June 2018 in the Russian Federation

Formally, at this time there is only one state memorial date - June 12, Russia Day, which is still mistakenly called Independence Day by the people. According to the law, the celebration is celebrated at the highest level.

Due to the postponement made by the Russian Government, people will not work from the 10th to the 12th.

Other June weekends will follow the standard schedule: 2, 3, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30. This applies to the usual “five-day week”.

In those organizations where people work in shifts, management will have to pay them double for holidays. In such situations, except for exceptions, consent from employees to work outside of normal hours is required.

During the “six-day week” in June 2018, weekends are not postponed: on the 12th, citizens of the Russian Federation will not go to work, and on the 9th and 11th they will begin their duties.

Thanks to the production calendar, you can make sure how the country will rest in June 2018.

Work shifts on the eve of official holidays, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, are reduced by at least 1 hour.

Legislation

The main document regulating work and rest in June 2018 is Government Decree No. 1250 of October 14, 2017. It states that Russia Day is a federal holiday, when residents of each region have the right not to go to work. Such acts are adopted every year, and from them one can determine what is celebrated in the country.

Ordinary residents of the country, employers, and foreigners working in the Russian Federation want to know about how we are vacationing in Russia in June 2018. After all, in June 2018 there is a long weekend due to the national holiday - Russia Day, and to ensure the rest of citizens, one of the weekends during this month is postponed to another day. Therefore, in order to plan your vacation or work schedule, it would be better to familiarize yourself with the weekends and holidays in June 2018 in Russia in advance.

How to relax in June 2018 in Russia - what days will be weekends and holidays

Therefore, to ensure continuous weekends, the Government of the Russian Federation decided to move the day off from Saturday, June 9, to Monday, June 11. And therefore, in Russia in 2018, in June there will be three days of rest in a row - from June 10 to June 12 inclusive - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

The remaining weekends in June 2018 will follow the usual schedule - that is, they will be the 2nd, 3rd, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th and 30th.

These holiday rules apply only to the standard five-day work week. In the case of a shift work schedule, the employer will simply have to compensate the employee for the holiday in double amounts, but the latter must give his consent to work, except in rare cases. And with a six-day working week in June 2018, no weekends will be transferred - that is, an additional day off will simply be added for the six-day workday on the 12th, and the 9th and 11th will be regular working days.
