IT at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of ChVUT

Round 1 consists of 4 independent parts.
1) Fine exam of 3 tasks:
– realistic pencil drawing of a still life composed of basic geometric shapes, A2 format;
– abstract composition of given geometric shapes, color sketch in perspective, A3 format
– perspective image (10 points). Based on a given plan, create a drawing in perspective of a 3D object from the point of view of a standing person., A3 format
2) Test of spatial thinking (10 points) – exam aimed at working with rectangular projections and stereometry
3) General Knowledge Test (10 points) - includes questions related to architecture, landscape architecture and design.
4) Test General prerequisites for training OSP SCIO (15 points). The overall test result will be converted into points. You must receive at least 1 point for this part.
The Commission will establish a minimum score for acceptance without an oral interview and a minimum score required to advance to the second round.
Round 2 – oral interview
The oral part of the exam will test the applicant’s interest in the specialty and general knowledge of the specialty (architecture, knowledge in the field of culture) - the level of knowledge, ability to argue and communicate will be assessed.
Applicants submit to the committee a maximum of 15 original homework or school works. Maximum format A1. Works in the field of fine arts, architecture, landscape architecture or design.
Statistics: out of 470 applicants, 355 are accepted.
B1 in January, B2 in June
For the exam in January, a foreign applicant must bring at least a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language at level B1, in which case in June he will need to bring a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language at level B2. Theoretical training within the undergraduate specialty “Professional Pilot” is free. Practical training will cost approximately CZK 950,000 (total for all three years of study).

History of creation
In 1705, fortification expert Christian Joseph Willenberg asked the Emperor of Austria for permission to teach engineering to nobles: four from knightly families and two from burgher families.
On January 18, 1707, Emperor Joseph I agreed to Willenberg's proposal and in response sent a rescript to the Czech parliamentary commissioners, in which he instructed them to take action on this issue. This date is considered the day when the Prague Technical University was founded.
University infrastructure
Today ČVUT is one of the largest and oldest technical universities in Europe. A long history and sustainable development have allowed the university to equip a rich infrastructure that any university can envy. How to apply for foreign applicants
The admission procedure begins with the submission of an electronic application. Once completed, the electronic form must be printed, signed and mailed along with the rest of the attachments to the appropriate department or institute of the university.
The list of required documents depends on the faculty and curriculum, but common to all areas are a certificate of basic/secondary/higher education and a nostrified (confirmed) diploma/certificate.
To obtain nostrification, you need to complete the missing items and watches.
This is due to the difference in the duration of academic programs for Russian (11 years) and Czech (13 years) schoolchildren. At CVUT, referrals for such exams are issued by the Research and Study Department.
Study programs are offered, taught and administered by the CTU faculty or institute, and not by the university administration, so the deadlines and dates for submitting admission documents are different for everyone. There is no official website in Russian, so all information about admission is available only in Czech or English on the university website.
The next stage is passing an exam in specialized subjects, as well as a certified exam in the Czech language at level B2 (if the training program is in Czech). Accordingly, to study in English, an entrance exam in English is taken.
Subject to a positive result, the applicant is enrolled in the specialty. It is worth noting that some faculties offer potential candidates preparation for entrance exams in mathematics, physics and geometry. These courses are offered only in Czech.
Tuition costs and scholarships
Educational programs in English and Russian are available exclusively on a paid basis. The average tuition fee per semester will be about 3000-3500 euros.
The largest part of a foreign student's expenses is rent. Renting an apartment will cost 250-500 euros, depending on the location of the apartment.
Accommodation in one of the student dormitories in Prague will cost approximately 70-150 euros per month.
Food will take another 120-250 euros, and transport and communication services will cost approximately 60-120 euros. As a result, together with leisure expenses, the average monthly stay is 420 euros per person.
However, in addition to expenses, students have many bonuses in the form of discounts on public transport at half the cost of a ticket, discounts on visits to museums, cinemas, etc.
Students can also apply for financial assistance from the state, university or private foundations.
