What bites on boilies. Fishing for carp with boilies: how to make boilies, the choice of equipment, fishing in spring, summer and autumn. Selection of gear for fishing on boilies

Carp fishing is considered a very interesting and exciting activity, which for some people is even more interesting than fishing for a predator. There are a lot of features in carp fishing. The main differences are in the gear and baits used.

Professionals distinguish two main ways of fishing for carp:

  • catching carp on boilies;
  • fishing with feeder rigs.

rigging

Most often, carp are caught with a hair rig. This rig is very easy to make and fishermen have not yet been able to come up with a more efficient installation, so the benefits are obvious.

To make tackle for fishing for carp using boilies, you will need to stock up on some materials:

  • lead material;
  • carp hook;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • silicone tube;

Mounting the equipment is quite simple, you just need to follow a certain sequence of actions and have at least a little idea of how to tie elementary fishing knots:

  1. First you need to make a loop on the leash and tie it with a triple knot.
  2. Then you need to thread a piece of silicone tube on a leash.
  3. Now you need to thread the second end of the leash into the eye of the hook.
  4. Then you need to make 6-8 turns around the forearm.
  5. In the direction of the sting, through the ring of the hook, you need to stretch the second end of the leash.
  6. Now you should glue the leash to the shank of the hook.
  7. Tackle can be applied immediately after the glue has dried.

Catching carp on boilies is a very interesting, but at the same time difficult activity. Boilies are very fragile, so just putting them on a hook will not work - they will crumble. If they do not scatter immediately, then during the casting for sure.

In this case, you can prevent damage to the bait with the help of a hair rig. A feature of this installation is that the sting of the hook remains constantly open, and the bait is fixed on a thin hair from a leader material.

The boilie must be prepared in advance for the nozzle - make a small hole there with a drill or awl. Then you need to thread a loop from the leash into the hole. After threading the loop, it is necessary to fix it with a silicone stopper.

It is important to pay attention to the fact that the bait is directly behind the hook.

The main thing is that the fish does not feel the hook at the time of the bite. As a result, the carp should swallow the hook along with the bait. The fisherman has only to hook the fish and get the catch to the shore.

The choice of bait is a very responsible task that not all beginner fishermen can handle. The main problem is choosing between store-bought baits and homemade boilies. You can resolve the dispute, but you need to have some knowledge about the features of both types of baits.

Main benefits of store-bought boilies are as follows:

  • It is possible to purchase several different baits of various shapes, sizes and colors, as well as to check which of the flavors will suit you best. This will be an indispensable advantage for fishing in an unfamiliar reservoir.
  • If the fisherman has too little time left before leaving for the pond, there is simply no time to cook boilies. Of course, if you are in a hurry to go fishing, then buying baits in the store will be much easier and faster.

But homemade boilies also have advantages:

  • If a fisherman constantly fishes in one place, then he knows almost everything about the taste preferences of local fish. Homemade boilies provide an opportunity to combine a variety of ingredients that will appeal to local fish.
  • If the angler managed to catch fish on homemade bait, then it will be very easy for him to make the same one with an identical smell, size and shape.

As you can see, all types of nozzles have advantages, but they will be noticeable only in one case or another. In the choice between homemade and purchased boilies, everything also depends on the conditions of fishing, as is the case with other baits.

In the production of boilies, special technologies and various components are used. Most often, the composition of such baits includes protein, flavors, and proteins. The following companies are considered the most famous manufacturers of boilies:

  • Tandem Baits;
  • mainline;
  • Richworth;
  • Prologic;

These bait makers are quite famous among carp bait anglers. They produce high quality and effective baits. Almost all experienced anglers prefer to use lures from these manufacturers.

In the fishing environment, catching carp with boilies is considered the most effective method that allows you to catch a trophy specimen. Small fish will not bite on these baits, as their large size will scare away unwanted catch. Lures are easy to use and very effective.

The most popular among fishermen are sinking boilies. They are very easy to make at home, you just need to know the recipe and have some knowledge of manufacturing. To prepare, you will need to acquire the following ingredients:

  • 1 part corn grits;
  • 1 part dry milk;
  • 1 part soybean groats;
  • 2 parts semolina;
  • 0.5 parts of ground sunflower seeds;
  • a dozen chicken eggs;
  • unrefined sunflower oil (2 tablespoons).

Manufacturing such baits are quite simple. You just need to follow a clear sequence and recommendations:

  1. All dry ingredients must first be ground with a blender or coffee grinder.
  2. Mix liquid ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the liquid ones and knead the dough.
  4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  5. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll out the sausages.
  6. Cut the sausages into even pieces, then twist them into balls of the desired diameter.
  7. Dip the balls in boiling water for 2 minutes.
  8. Let the boilies cool down.
  9. Dip baits in yellow or red dye.

Sometimes catching carp with boilies occurs in conditions where some difficulties may arise with sinking baits. Then baits with positive buoyancy come to the aid of the angler, for the manufacture of which you will need the following Ingredients:

  • 4 parts cornmeal;
  • 2 parts soy flour;
  • 1 part semolina;
  • 0.5 parts of hemp seeds;
  • 1 part milk protein;
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar;
  • 15 milligrams of betaine;
  • 7 chicken eggs;
  • purple food coloring;
  • 0.5 parts of salt.

Such a bait is made in the same way as the previous one. The only difference is in the cooking process. Floating boilies do not cook in boiling water. They must be kept over the steam bath for 3 minutes.

Dusty boilies have gained a very good reputation among amateurs and professionals of carp fishing. To prepare this bait you will need the following: constituents:

  • flavorings (it is best to take a crab smell);
  • 3 parts cornmeal;
  • 2 parts soy flour;
  • 0.5 liters of water;
  • 1 part dry milk;
  • 10 milliliters of sugar;
  • 10 milliliters of fish oil;
  • 10 milliliters of betaine;
  • pink food coloring.

The manufacturing process exactly repeats the previous two types of baits, only dusty boilies does not require heat treatment. Just lay them out on paper or board and let the baits dry well. It is better to store such baits in the refrigerator.

There is an opinion among fishermen that carp are very attracted to various smells, and this opinion is quite justified and true. To increase the effectiveness of baits, you can add the following components to them:

  • roasted and crushed sunflower seeds;
  • crushed and roasted peanuts;
  • sesame seeds;
  • garlic juice;
  • cocoa;
  • ground coffee;
  • ground cinnamon;
  • various dips;
  • a little cumin;
  • vanilla sugar;
  • crab and meat flavors.

But in addition to the aroma, you need to pay special attention to the appearance of the bait, it should be bright. An attractive appearance can be achieved by using a variety of food colors. Bright colors of baits always attract carp.

Gear selection

There are a lot of ways to catch carp with boilies. Anglers have adapted to catching this fish in a variety of ways that do not differ in efficiency, but some of them are more convenient. Most likely the following gear will suit you.

Fishing with a float rod

In order for carp fishing on boilies with the help of a float rod to be successful, you will need to acquire the following gear:

  • Telescopic rod about 5 meters long.
  • The rod test should be between 10 and 30 grams.
  • Shimano size 2500 reel.
  • 100 meters of quality fishing line with a diameter of 0.25 millimeters.
  • To make a leash, you will need 1 meter of fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 mm.
  • Float (load capacity is selected depending on the fishing conditions).
  • It is best to equip the tackle with a sliding float.
  • The size of the hook is selected depending on the diameter of the boilie.

Feeder

Feeder tackle is considered the most effective for fishing for carp and other fish. The fishing rod must be plug-in and have a very sensitive tip to fix bites.

  • The rod should be about 4 meters long and with a test of about 100 grams.
  • The weight of the feeder is selected in accordance with the depth at the place of fishing and the casting distance.
  • The reel must be equipped with a baitrunner.
  • The diameter of the main fishing line is from 0.25 to 0.35 millimeters.
  • The leash should be about 0.5 meters long.

In the 80s of the last century, anglers from Europe invented hair rigs. It was intended to ensure that when biting a cautious carp did not come into contact with the hook. This invention served as a starting point in the emergence of a new type of baits - boilies, which later gained immense popularity among hunters for "white" fish.

What are boilies?

Boilies are bait in the form of small balls, usually no more than 3 cm in diameter, painted in various colors. This bait contains:

  • various types of flour (wheat, corn, semolina, etc.);
  • chicken eggs or egg powder;
  • ground cereals;
  • vegetable oil;
  • nutritional supplements (fish bone meal, crab meal, etc.); milk powder;
  • crushed feed for animals and birds;
  • substances that impart stickiness (casein, starch, etc.);
  • a variety of flavors.

The peculiarity of the preparation of this bait is that after mixing all the components, the rolled balls are boiled in boiling water. After drying, a hard crust forms on them, which protects the nozzle from rapid soaking in water.

Advantages and disadvantages of bait

Speaking about the effectiveness of a particular bait, it is important to understand that a lot depends on such parameters as the type of reservoir, fishing conditions, temperature and turbidity of the water, etc. But we will try to highlight some of the universal advantages of using boilies:

  • experimenting with a variety, you can make even the most “capricious” fish peck;
  • are considered the most concentrated baits;
  • an annoying little thing like bleak will not torment you;
  • branded boilies do not saturate the fish, as laxatives are added to them;
  • the average mass of fish caught is increasing.

As for the shortcomings, they are, but they are few:

  • balls with a diameter of up to 1 cm are quite laborious to make at home;
  • large granules reduce casting distance;
  • a large number of producers has led to the fact that very often you can run into poor quality feed;
  • significant price.

What kind of fish can you catch?

  • Amur;
  • carp (carp);
  • crucian carp;
  • roach;
  • asp and many others;

The choice of boilies for fishing

Types of boilies

Depending on how boilies behave in water, they can be divided into 3 groups:

  • floating. Cooked in the microwave until crispy. Due to this, they become lighter than water and do not sink. Such baits are well suited if you decide to fish in places with a rocky or, for example, grassy bottom. Very often they give good results in hot weather, when the carp, due to the low amount of oxygen, “leaves” from the bottom to the upper layers of the water. The disadvantage of this bait is that it quickly loses its shape in the water.
  • Sinking. To prepare them, rolled balls are boiled and left to dry until a crust forms. You can also send them to the freezer. These manipulations allow the nozzle to retain its shape for a long time. Can also be used as food.
  • With neutral buoyancy. From the name it is clear that this is a cross between the first and second species. In fact, granules with neutral buoyancy, touching even the most silted bottom, do not get stuck in it, like sinking ones, but they do not float up either. It is quite easy to make them - you just need to load the floating ball with a hook or an additional sinker so as to completely neutralize its buoyancy.

What determines the choice of boilies?

  1. Type of fish. Despite the fact that the bait is considered universal for catching "white" fish, there are certain nuances when choosing it for a specific species. Consider the main preferences of the most popular representatives of the carp family:
    • Carp (carp). When catching carp, boilies with a diameter of 14-18 mm are considered the most popular. This size allows you to "cut off" small fish from the nozzle. As for color, yellow, red, white and purple granules are more popular with carp anglers. You also need to pay attention to flavors. Aromas of strawberries, corn, honey, tutti frutti will help you out practically on any body of water. It happens that carp bite on quite interesting flavors like ground red pepper or cinnamon. Also, special aromatic additives - dips - from Mistral and Richworth have proven themselves quite well.
    • . Cupid is a vegetarian, and using floating boilies as bait shows good results when catching it. Depending on the size of the expected catch, granules with a diameter of 10-18 mm can be used. Yellow is considered the most “working” color; white cupid is not indifferent to it. As for aromatics, these are pineapple, caramel, honey, hemp, scopex, plum, tutti frutti.
    • Carp. Not many fishermen use this bait when fishing for carp. And as practice shows - in vain. This fish bites perfectly on floating and neutral balls of small size - 6-8 mm. They should stand out well against the background of the muddy bottom. Therefore, it is better to use red, orange or yellow colors. Carp are attracted by the smells of garlic, dill, strawberries, tutti-frutti, scopex.
  2. Season. Depending on the time of year and water temperature, fish tastes change. For this reason, it is worth making some adjustments to the composition of the nozzles used:
    • Spring. After the winter calm, the carp begins to be active. Spawning is coming. At this time, it is beneficial to use balls that have a high nutritional value, made, for example, from fishmeal. Many carp anglers fish in the spring for crab, squid, cuttlefish or shellfish flavored pellets.
    • Summer. As the temperature rises, it is necessary to gradually move from fishy to fruity flavors. The taste and smell of banana, pineapple, strawberry, peach, cherry and chocolate are extremely attractive to cyprinids. You can also experiment with different combinations of flavors like strawberry-fishy or cherry-fishy. Sweetness is what fish need in summer.
    • Autumn. At this time, the fish begins to actively eat up before wintering. The greatest attention should be paid to the tastes of various crustaceans (snails, crayfish). In addition to this, you can intentionally enhance their effect by adding banana flavor to the mixture. The fact is that cyprinids really like this fruit, and they will definitely react to such a move.
    • Winter. This is the time when the skill of the angler really shows itself. After all, it is not so easy to make the sleepy inhabitants of the reservoir peck. The main feature that boilies should have at this time is fast digestibility in the body of fish. The exotic taste of kiwi in the company of crustaceans perfectly "works" during the cold season.

Advice: Choose the color of the bait based on the turbidity of the water and the type of bottom. The clearer the water, the darker the food should be.

Making boilies with your own hands

Buying expensive balls from advertised manufacturers is not affordable for every fisherman. And it is not always possible to “get” into the taste preferences of the inhabitants of a particular reservoir. Therefore, if there is a desire and opportunity, then you can make the bait yourself. What’s more, it’s an easy task.

If you disassemble each granule into its constituent components, then all of them will be aimed at performing certain tasks. Some additives provide nutritional value, others - the structure and the necessary taste, others - aroma, fourth - color.

The following components are used as the basis for the manufacture of bait:

  1. Semolina and soy flour. This base includes a mixture of carbohydrates and vegetable protein. Being low-nutrient, it is great for short fishing and exploring a new reservoir, because over time, the carp will realize that this food does not saturate it, does not bring energy, and will refuse it. Best of all, all kinds of fruity flavors are combined with such a base. You can increase the nutritional value by adding cornmeal to the initial mixture. Balls from such a base “work” best in cold water.
  2. Flour from fish and various seafood. The base, which mainly consists of animal proteins and fats. Its peculiarity is that the fish must first be accustomed to such food. The more often you use pellets of this composition, the faster carps will begin to perceive them as natural food. Such balls have a loose structure, so they quickly soak in water and become prey for small things. Do not use them in cold water or in strong currents.
  3. Birdseed. Such a base well replenishes the energy losses of carp, as it consists mainly of carbohydrates, fats and proteins of plant origin. If you add semolina flour and fruit flavors to the mixture, you get a fast-acting bait. Together with fishmeal and animal flavors, a perfectly balanced bait for long-term fishing will come out.

In order to bind all the components together, chicken eggs, starch, and casein are used. Food coloring is used to give the desired color.

Cooking steps

Regardless of which components you decide to use, the cooking process will consist of the following steps:

Adviсe:

  • In order for the dough to turn out to be the right consistency, strictly follow the recipe. Observe the required proportions of dry and liquid components.
  • If you want the balls to be covered with a hard crust, leave them to dry in the fresh air.
  • To prevent the nozzle from becoming moldy or sour, store it in the freezer.

How to cook floating and sinking boilies?

The difference in the preparation of these two types of granules is only in the last step.

Floating balls are not boiled, but dried in a microwave at maximum temperature. It is important to prevent the crust from burning. Therefore, it is desirable to check the condition of the pellets every 15-20 seconds. In order to make sure that you have prepared exactly the floating bait - place it in a glass of water - having sunk to the bottom, the ball should begin to slowly float up.

Sinking pellets are boiled in water. Depending on the desired degree of hardness, the workpieces are boiled from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. The longer you boil them, the harder they will become.

Adviсe:

  • The buoyancy of the blanks can be increased by adding casein to them.
  • Heat treatment "takes away" odors from the balls. Therefore, you need to initially add a slightly larger amount of flavors to the mixture.

Effective and popular recipes

Consider some of the most catchy recipes:

  • No. 1 - springIngredients: Flour: Fish - 25%; Wheat - 20%; Corn flour - 20%; Bird feed - 20%; Attracting substances - 5%; Chicken eggs - 10 pcs. per 1 kg. dough; Fish oil - 25-50 ml. per 1 kg. mixture; Sweetener - 2 ml. per 1 kg. mixtures;
  • No. 2 - summerIngredients: Flour: Wheat - 30%; Rice - 10%; Bird feed - 10%; Soluble fish protein - 20%; Wheat bran - 8%; Sprouted wheat - 5%; Casein - 10%; Salt - 5%; Betaine - 2%;
  • No. 3 - autumnIngredients: Flour: Fish - 20%; Semolina - 5%; Corn - 5%; Chopped cake - 30%; Grinded roasted seeds - 10%; Salt - 10%; Sugar - 20%; Any fish attractant - 3%; Fish oil - 3%; Chicken eggs - 10 pcs.

What tackle is better to catch?

Fishing for boilies requires certain gear and skills. Here are some tips for choosing quality gear:

  • Rod. You can use durable medium or heavy grade. Depending on the place of fishing and the mass of the feeder being cast, the blank test should be in the region of 60-100 g. The main condition is that the feeder must be very reliable.
  • Coil. You can use the usual inertialess. If possible, it is better to install a match coil. This will reduce the time it takes to get the rig out of the water.
  • Main line. It is best to use braided line. If this is not possible, then you can use the “braid” only for leashes. The thickness of the main line should be 0.4 mm. Putting a thin line does not make sense, as it may not withstand when casting a heavy load. A thicker line will reduce the casting distance of the rig, and will also “sail” a lot in crosswinds.
  • Leads. The use of hard leads increases the likelihood of self-hooking fish, and also reduces the possibility of tangling the equipment during long casts. However, such a fishing line very often scares the fish away from the bait. Therefore, it is better to “knit” leashes from a “braid” with a diameter of 0.12-0.16 mm. The breaking capacity of the lead line must be more than 10 kg. In addition, the cord should be soft enough. As for the length, 15 cm leashes are considered universal. However, there are situations when the fish, feeling the resistance of a short leash, throws the bait. In such cases, it is better to use 40 cm leashes.
  • Hook. You will need very high quality hooks made of fairly thick wire. Suitable dark hooks No. 6-8 according to the international classification. It is also necessary that the sting of the hook be bent inward. This allows the carp to try the granules without piercing the sting, and when hooking, such a hook will reliably enter the fish's lip.
  • Sinker. For a muddy bottom, spherical weights are suitable. For a bottom consisting mainly of clay, it is desirable to use olive-shaped sinkers. As for the mass, carp self-cutting occurs only with loads of 80-100 g.

How to attach boilies

When boilies first appeared, fishermen put them on hooks, like, for example, corn or a worm. But over time, anglers began to use other mounting options. This is how the hair tool was born. Its meaning is to attach the nozzle not to the hook, but to the fishing line located next to it. This is necessary so that the fish can safely try the ball, and then swallow it along with the bare hook.

Consider the most popular types of hair accessories:

  • Knotless installation. The simplest option, which does not require the use of additional materials, except for the hook, leash and boilie. Suitable for beginners.
  • Snap back. There are many different mounting options available. But all of them are united by one distinctive feature - when the carp feels that he is hooked and tries to spit out the bait, it slides down to the eye of the hook and his sting pierces the fish even more.
  • Rigid equipment. It is best to “knit” such a montage on braided fishing lines. Its advantage is that the pellet is close enough to the hook, which also reduces the risk of a possible catch off the hook. Can be used with both sinking and floating boilies.
  • Equipment "D-Rig". Probably the most efficient tool. It differs in that when the carp tries to get rid of the bait, it moves not only along the shank of the hook, but also from side to side. This makes getting the trophy almost impossible.

Finding a place to fish

In order to find possible parking places for carp, you can use the marker. To do this, a square sinker is tied to the end of the fishing line and, throwing it, measure the bottom. After you understand the structure of the bottom of the reservoir at several points, you will find out where the pits, dumps, edges and exits are. Find also the type of bottom.

It is better to start fishing in places with a hard bottom. Also promising are places with aquatic vegetation, fallen trees, snags. In order to constantly cast to one point, you need to either fix the line after the first cast in a special clip on the reel, or mark the line with a marker.

Do you need bait

For the most effective fishing, bait mixes should be used. It is desirable that the feed is located as close to the bait as possible. To do this, many "carp anglers" use special bags of PVA, which act as a feeder.

The bags have holes for washing out the food, but their main feature is that they completely dissolve in water. Fill such bags with any bait that is available. You can also use the boilies themselves as complementary foods. Both whole and crushed

  • Going to the pond, be sure to take several different types of boilies. They should vary both in size and in taste and color.
  • Choose the size of the nozzle according to the size of the hook.
  • If the fish is not active, try using smaller balls.
  • Boyle does not have to be made in the form of a ball. Well "catch" and oval and square nozzles.
  • A well-advertised boilie is not a panacea. Often, home-made bait “catches” better.

Boilies are a versatile bait for carp fishing for several reasons: you can rotate the composition, taste, color, size, as well as buoyancy. As many as 5 parameters, where have you seen such a variety of lures? In addition to this boilies really like the carp. So there is no way out - we catch carp with boilies, and how to cook them and other nuances - further.

How to make boilies yourself

A detailed guide to cooking boilies at home has already become popular on our website.

The entire preparation of boilies consists of 5 stages:

  1. The base is made - a dry mixture.
  2. The liquid part of the mixture is made.
  3. Both parts are mixed.
  4. From the resulting dough we make sausages, cut them and roll each segment into a ball. In order not to be distracted by catching small things, make balls with a diameter of at least a centimeter for crucian carp, 2.5 cm for carp.
  5. The balls are dried for several days (or frozen).

boilie recipes

Dough
  1. Test recipe. Mix 200 g soy and 200 g cornmeal. Add 200 g of powdered milk and 400 g of semolina, 20 powdered sugar. Mix everything until you get a homogeneous mixture. Add 10 eggs to it (necessarily fresh!), A teaspoon of dye, 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil, a little flavoring. Mix it all thoroughly. Now you can make balls.
  2. Test recipe number 2. Dry basis: ground bird food - 200 g; corn, rice, wheat flour - 1 kg each; milk powder - 800 g. Liquid mixture: eggs at the rate of 10 pcs per 1 kg, 10 ml of flavor, 1 teaspoon of dye, 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil.
Give buoyancy / heaviness
  1. For the preparation of floating boilies, the balls do not need to be boiled. Keep them in the microwave. They will become light and lush, and as a result - buoyant. Disadvantage: such boilies do not withstand the shape of a ball for long. Cook them exactly as much as you need for today.
  2. To prepare sinking boilies, the balls are boiled or put in the freezer. When they become hard as a stone, you can start catching carp.
The color of the boilies is very important. The largest catch happens on balls of red, white, yellow, purple colors. In a muddy pond, preference should be given to light shades of these colors, in a transparent one - dark.
Miniboilers at home

As a summer mini-boilers when fishing for crucian carp, we recommend using dough made from dark bread, flavored with garlic juice. Juice is easily obtained with a garlic press. You can also add unrefined sunflower oil.

Finding a place to fish

  1. To get started, check out the following guide. It will reveal the secrets of choosing a place and time for carp fishing.
  2. Then carefully study the reservoir in which you are going to fish. Track the carp splash points - these will be bait spots.
  3. Good catches can be obtained on rifts and in bays, in backwaters, in places where lilies and reeds grow.
  4. If this is a private pond, ask what the owner feeds the fish and draw a conclusion about the optimal composition of the test.
  5. If there are shells in the pond, you should make boilies based on fishmeal with flavors that smell like mussels, squid, shells.

Lure

In cold water, be sure to use bait with an animal composition.

How to properly feed carp using the feeder method is described here.

  1. Place the bait right next to the bait. Water-soluble PVA bags are perfect for this purpose, which are filled with dry bait or boilies. The sinker is placed inside the package. The best composition of bait: a third of the volume - boilies of different sizes, the rest - pellets, byova mixture, grain, additives.
  2. The amount of bait depends on the saturation of the reservoir with fish, temperature, accuracy and systematic feeding. Its main purpose is to constantly keep the fish in the place of your fishing. Proceed from the starting feed of 1-2 kilograms. After an hour, there is no bite - add another 1 kilogram. And so on in ascending order until the fish starts to peck.
  3. Has the bite stopped? The carp has eaten all the bait - start bait again.
  4. If you are seriously going to fish in a pond, then you need to regularly bait fish with 10-20 pieces of boilies during the day or evening.

How to increase the catch of fish?

For 7 years of active passion for fishing, I have found dozens of ways to improve the bite. Here are the most effective ones:

  1. Cool activator. This pheromone additive lures fish the most in cold and warm water. Discussion of the bite activator "Hungry Fish".
  2. Increasing gear sensitivity. Read the appropriate manuals for the particular type of tackle.
  3. Pheromone baits.

Carp tackle

If you are new to carp fishing, please read the feeder rod guide first. These are strong powerful rods that will allow you to cast heavy feeders or sinkers to the required fishing point. From time to time you will hit right on target.

carp equipment

  • The most popular carp rig is Method. If you are a complete beginner and don't want to invest in a professional feeder, start with a paternoster (an incredibly lightweight rig).
  • We recommend using leadcore in your rigs. This will sink the line to the bottom and will not allow the carp to be afraid of accidental contact, and also protect it from chafing against stones and other sharp objects in the water during the fight.
  • Don't be afraid to cast far, because you are using a shock leader, even the heaviest leads.
  • The figure eight knot will come in handy in many cases to tie the leash to the main fishing line.
  • The most popular boilie mount is the hair rig. It does not arouse any suspicion in the fish. The notch occurs at the moment when the fish tries to spit out the hook. To make the leash, we use a braided line, put a silicone stopper on it and tie a sharp, strong hook. We pierce the boilie with a needle and put it on the braid. We fix it with a piece of a match so that it does not fly off, we thread the hook into a thin silicone tube. We stretch the free end of the leash into the bow of the hook, make several turns on the fore-end, thread it through the bow again, tighten it, attach the swivel to it. We seat a rubber tube on the swivel, hold it under steam to seat it. That the tackle was stronger, we lubricate the knots with glue. The size of the leash is 20 centimeters.

Little tricks

  • Big fish sometimes bite better on boilie halves. Cut each boilie in half, put the halves on the hair "back to back". You can use each half separately. The halves can be of different sizes, flavors and colors.
  • You can use a blade to remove the top layer of boilies in some places. So we will enhance its taste and smell, make it more believable uneven shape.
  • You can fantastically increase the attractiveness of boilies for fish by soaking them in dips (liquid flavors). Such a nozzle creates a whole cloud of aromas around itself that attracts fish.
  • Use polarized glasses to spot carp near the surface of the water; look down on the pond.

Features of catching carp and other fish on boilies

The dough is the most democratic of vegetable baits. In almost any kitchen there are ingredients in order to prepare a nozzle according to a particular recipe. But for a long time carp anglers could not adapt the dough for catching their trophies: carp, carp, silver carp and grass carp. There are too many small things that are eager for soft bait in our reservoirs. So I had to catch these types of carp fish for mastyrka, peas, corn, potatoes and other baits.

On the other hand, the carp's love for resorption of goodies, for example, oilcake, has long been known, which became the reason for the creation of the top. But when the dough, mixed with egg whites, was first boiled, it turned out to be a symbiosis of dough and sucker. The new bait was dubbed a boilie, which is translated from English as “cooked”.

So, what is a boilie - this is a boiled ball of dough prepared for fishing according to a special recipe. Currently, in carp fishing - carp fishing - boilies for carp fishing as a nozzle have no rivals. Fish are caught on appetizing balls during the entire period of open water, both in spring, and in summer, and in autumn.

Lovers of tasty balls

In addition to carp fishing, it is also possible to catch carp on boilies, as well as Far Eastern guests: silver carp and grass carp, which are now massively bred on “payers”. These giants of the carp family are also not averse to eating tasty balls, especially since with the modern development of the fishing bait industry, it will not be difficult to choose a boilie to the taste of any underwater inhabitant.

Even for catfish, some companies make these baits in meat, fish, or seafood flavors. Amateur fishermen are not far behind - they mold and cook catfish balls with their own hands.

Catching carp on boilies is also interesting. The peculiarities of such fishing are in reducing the size of the ball, its minimum diameter should not be less than six millimeters, and the maximum one and a half centimeters. Using mini boilies, we cut off small carp, only solid specimens will be in the catch. On the other hand, crucians, unlike carp, love soft baits.

Varieties

Demand creates supply, and therefore there are many companies on the bait market that produce boilies for carp. Below is a list of the most popular manufacturers:

  • Richworth;
  • CC More;
  • fun fishing;
  • Tandem;
  • Dynamite;
  • mainline;
  • ProLogic;
  • Rod Hutchinson

But, of course, we do not forget the best manufacturer - the fisherman himself, who is able to make the most delicious balls for carp, carp, grass carp and silver carp from flour, eggs and other components in his kitchen.

By the way! It is wrong to call a silver carp a "silver carp". There is no such fish in our reservoirs!

Feeding

In the spring, with warmer waters, the fish begin to fatten up after a long winter and in anticipation of spawning. And, consequently, carp fishing for boilies begins. Before catching carp on boilies, before the first cast, it is necessary to feed the place and carry out the installation of tackle.

Following the principle: “What you feed is what you catch”, we feed the places of future fishing using bait boilies. In order to deliver bait boilies to the fishing point, a special curved plastic tube, the so-called "cobra", is used. Bait balls are poured into it, then with a sharp wave of the hand with a “cobra” clamped in it, the bait is sent to the selected point.

The second way to use boilies for bait is crushing and adding them to the dry mix. Of course, you can crush the balls with a hammer, but it is better to use a boilie chopper, or a crusher. It is a pair of plastic containers with spikes. When connecting the two halves of the container, the boilie grinder crushes the balls to add particles to the mixture.

Tooling installation

In order for carp fishing with boilies to be effective, it is necessary to correctly assemble the equipment elements, in our case we consider equipment for boilies. Boiled balls differ from other baits in that they do not need to be literally put on a hook, hair equipment is used for their installation.

For the installation we need:

  • boilie;
  • hook;
  • hair - thread or fishing line;
  • thin drill;
  • needle;
  • stopper;
  • cambric.
  1. We tie the hook with a knotless connection, leaving part of the fishing line under the "hair". In another version, the hook is tied with a simple knot. Then the "hair" must be knitted separately to the ringlet.
  2. We put a cambric on the shank of the hook, placing it at the beginning of the bend.
  3. We pass the "hair" through the cambric.
  4. From the “hair” passed through the cambric we knit a loop, a little longer than the diameter of the ball.
  5. Using a drill (by the way, a drill and a needle are available as a set), we make a through hole in the boilie.
  6. We thread the needle into the hole, put a loop on its bend and drag the loop through the nozzle.
  7. We insert a stopper for boilies into the loop. It is made of silicone and is sold in fishing stores, but instead of a stopper, you can use pieces of matches, toothpicks, blades of grass. Installation completed!

This procedure can be performed in a different sequence: first, knit a loop on a fishing line, then tie a hook, and at the end put a boilie on the “hair”. But this does not change the essence of the installation.

If the fishing conditions suggest the presence of a muddy bottom in the reservoir, you have to knit the so-called "snowmen" from a pair of boilies: sinking and floating. Sometimes the balls are cut in half, put together and fixed with the flat parts of the hemispheres to each other.

Catching Tactics

You can fish on boilies both in spring and autumn, the main thing is to choose them correctly according to the season and fishing conditions, tie them correctly, and also deliver carp, silver carp or grass carp to the bait table.

Having found a delicious ball in the water, the carp begins to dissolve it, while a nearby hook is drawn into its mouth. Spitting out an unpleasant piece of iron, the carp detects itself by the lower lip. Now it's up to the fisherman: you need to make timely hooking, and then competently hauling large fish. There are practically no spontaneous gatherings in this fishing, with the exception of planting tackle in bushes, grass or snags.

If everything is done correctly, you will be rewarded - an unforgettable trophy!

Boilies for carp - how, and which ones to catch? Do-it-yourself recipes, equipment and tackle for fishing

Fishing for carp requires preparation. It should be borne in mind that carp is a capricious and cautious fish. Therefore, in order to increase the chance of catching, many anglers experiment with different types of baits. Boilies are one of the most popular baits for carp.

Boilies are a concentrated mixture of ingredients that are mixed and prepared according to a specially developed technology and are a universal bait for carp fishing. Translated from English, the word boil means "cook", "boil".

They are divided into 3 types: bait, sinking and floating. When catching carp, sinking boilies proved to be the best. As you know, carp stay in the bottom layers of water and feed on small shells and other sediments. That is why it is best to attract fish by bottom fishing.

The variety of such boilies depends on the recipe and cooking technique. The drowning are first boiled and then frozen. When casting, the lure retains its shape and is able to stay in the water for a long time, luring carp.

Floating are cooked in the microwave. They are distinguished by lightness and splendor, which allows them to float on the surface of the water. However, such boilies are not durable and quickly crumble when wet.

Feeders are similar to drowning ones. They differ only in a stronger aromatic composition.

There is another type of boilies that is gaining more and more popularity - dusty ones. They differ from the rest in the manner of behavior in the water. When casting, an ordinary boilie gives off only the aroma that leaves it, while dusty, slowly, particle-wise, is sprayed into the water column.

Part of it falls to the bottom, and part spreads near the location of the bait. This scattering process takes about 3 hours and the approached fish can live in the place of casting for a long time, since the particles of such a boilie do not saturate the fish.

For carp fishing, the diameter of the boilie should not exceed 15-18 mm. Most often, it depends on the weight of presumably inhabited carps in a given water area. Another important factor is color. It is most often chosen depending on the transparency of the water. The best, according to surveys of anglers, are boilies of the following colors: purple, yellow, white and red.

According to their composition, boilies are also different. Purchased and artificial in quality will not give an ideal result for carp fishing. They mainly include combined mixtures of breadcrumbs, fishmeal, bird food and flavorings. Homemade baits are recommended.

DIY boilies

The entire cooking stage is divided into 5 points, namely: preparing a dry mix, preparing a liquid with the addition of flavors, rolling balls and the drying or freezing process.

Dry mix is prepared by mixing different ingredients. For spring and autumn, the following composition is recommended. Corn flour - 400 grams, wheat flour - 400 grams, soy flour - 400-500 grams, depending on the amount of bait.

Also, 4-7 eggs, a few drops of sunflower oil and a teaspoon of dye can be added to this composition, which will give the desired color to the future boilie. All these ingredients are mixed and diluted with a small amount of water to give the shape of plasticity to the finished mass.

Next, balls with a diameter of 10 to 20 mm are rolled from the resulting dough and boiled in boiling water for 2-2.5 minutes. Then everything is taken out and dried or frozen. This will make sinking boilies. If it is necessary to make it floating, then the finished balls are placed in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, and then fried in a pan for about 10-15 more minutes.

After that, they are taken out and a couple of balls are thrown into a container of water - for verification.

For summer fishing, boilies include the following mixtures: soy and corn flour 1 kg each, semolina 150 grams, rice groats 200 grams, milk powder 500 grams, or milk protein 150-200 grams, dyes and flavors. Also, you can add hemp seeds 50 grams, eggs from 5 to 9 pieces, salt, sugar, a tablespoon and 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Also, as in the case of the autumn and spring composition, the ingredients are crushed, mixed with water and the dough is prepared, which is then boiled or cooked in the microwave, depending on the type of boilies.

The primary task of the angler is to understand the composition of the mixture for cooking. Experienced carp anglers, before preparing for fishing, ask local fishermen of this reservoir about the behavior of carp in the form of a particular bait or bait.

It is also necessary to clarify with the owners of private ponds for breeding carp fish species what is included in the composition of the main carp feed. Only after that, a conclusion and analysis of future ingredients for the preparation of carp boilies is made.

Rolling boilies into balls

For rolling boilies, there are 2 methods: rolling by hand and using a special table. For rolling by hand, the angler will have to make balls by eye, trying to fit them to certain parameters.

Also, this process takes a lot of time and is considered a dirty method. When rolling on a table, specific nozzles with a diameter of 14mm and above are used. To do this, you need to fill the dough into a special gun and squeeze the resulting mass onto the table.

After that, it remains only to roll out the dough. The balls will be the same mass and diameter.

rigging

knitting hair snap

For catching carp on boilies, there are several rigs, such as hair, feeder, float and others, invented by anglers and improved for a better catch of worthy carp specimens.

It is known that when fishing with boilies, the bait itself, due to its solid state and size, is not mounted on the hook. For such a case, English fishermen came up with an effective tool, the so-called hair or hair tool. For such equipment, you will need a thin piece of braided fishing line 3-5 centimeters long, which is attached to a hook and loop. From 1 to 3 boilies are placed on the hair.

The bait should be lowered into the bottom layers of water so that the carp can easily find it and grab it. In action, such a rig works like this: a carp, having noticed the bait, sucks it in, and to make sure that there is no catch, it spits it out. So the carp can try this bait several times. If he sucks the hair, then the bare hook, following the boilie, will also rush into the mouth, and it will be impossible to spit it out for the carp.

It is very important that the hook has a sharp sting and that there is no rust on it, as its smell can scare away fish. The hook size is usually from 10 to 16 numbers and is made of extra strong steel. Installation of hair accessories can be varied.

The most common is knotless installation, this is when the boilie is attached without various additional devices. The second kind is the reverse. It provides for a greater depth of the hook in the mouth of the fish.

Mounting method 3 is D-Rig. With such a rig, a boilie with a hook has a certain amplitude of movement when a fish tries to spit them out. And one more snap - it's tough. Such equipment looks like when the hook and bait are too close to each other.

Another common type of carp fishing is feeder equipment. Unlike hair, she has a number of vulnerabilities. Carp anglers tend to hunt for large trophies, and the presence of food in the feeder can attract small fish that will provoke false bites.

The basis of such equipment is practically no different from the hair. The only thing that is used in such equipment is a feeder with food. As a complementary food, it is also recommended to use bait boilies.

The attachment to the hair is carried out using an awl. A hole is pierced in the boilie, into which the hair is threaded and tied or stopped with a silicone stopper.

Gear and choice of fishing spot

When catching carp, every angler must take into account its power and resistance when playing. Therefore, when preparing for fishing, it is also necessary to take into account the strength of gear. Carp tackle consists of a rod, 1.5-3 meters long, made of durable materials and having sufficient rigidity.

Most carp anglers choose spinning rods made of duralumin and durable carbon fiber that can fight back big fish. A reel with high power and a large spool, enough to wind a decent amount of fishing line on it.

Fishing line, with a diameter of 0.30 to 0.35 mm, and made of nylon thread, thanks to which it can stretch under the jerks of carp. Leashes, preferably made of braided cord, with a diameter of 0.20 to 0.25 mm and a length of about 20 centimeters.

Also, carp tackle includes feeders and strong hooks. In preparation for fishing, you need at least 3-4 rods. The rods are mounted on special slingshots and are equipped with bite signaling devices. These can be bells, special bells and electronic signaling devices that are triggered when the fishing line is pulled when biting.

Carp likes to stay in water bodies with a complete absence of current, in thickets of reeds and the presence of a muddy bottom.

When preparing for carp fishing, you need to know where the fishing process itself will take place. For this, the advice of experienced anglers who have repeatedly visited this type of reservoir is considered an important aspect.

Also, early in the morning you can see the splashes of these giants on the surface of the water. Active zhor carp starts at about 5 am and lasts until lunch, but in some cases it can last until dusk. At night, the carp is inactive.

Fishing for boilies

After all the preparations, arrival at the reservoir and the choice of fishing place, the angler needs to make an accurate cast to the point of the intended habitat of the carp. After casting, the rod is fixed on the slingshots, the bite signaling device is installed and the most interesting moment begins - waiting for the bite.

A carp can look closely for a long time, try this type of boilie presented to it, but not peck. In this case, the angler should be patient, because sooner or later the carp will not withstand the temptation and swallow the bait, thereby provoking the long-awaited bite.

When the bite alarm is triggered, you need to make sure that the fish is firmly on the hook, for this you need the alarm to work again. After that, the cutting is made with a sharp jerk and the fish is started to be hauled.

Playing should also take place with the accuracy of observing a certain order, otherwise the fish may break loose and leave. After hooking, with a smooth movement of the hand, the fish is pulled with the help of a rod, and then the weakened fishing line is reeled in with the other hand with the help of a reel.

It is important that the line is always taut. Carp is a strong fish, so when playing it, you also need to take a comfortable position, stand firmly on your feet and gradually exhaust it from strength. Large individuals do not fight for a long time, and in a good scenario, the long-awaited trophy is in the hands of the angler.

Large carp quite often peck at half boilies. So as an experiment, you can put a half on 2 of 4 fishing rods, and on others whole, and of different colors, in order to be able to know which boilie the carp responds best to.

  1. One of the most important tips is to watch the carp during their active bite. Also, it is necessary to study the reservoir with the help of an echo sounder, which will help to better understand the structure of the bottom and find the paths of movement from the parking lot to the feeding place.
  2. It is also important to constantly feed a certain place for future fishing. If the angler will feed the fish in the same place, then she will get used to it, and will constantly sail to feast on the place of fishing.
  3. Some carp anglers pay attention to the direction and strength of the wind blowing throughout the summer season, which shifts the location of the carp to the side with the wind. And perhaps with the onset of autumn, it will not be difficult for the fisherman to determine a new habitat. On hot days, bubbles rising from the water in their habitat will also help to find the parking lot of carp.
  4. With the onset of a new fishing season, it is necessary to check and replace worn parts of gear in order to avoid breakages in the future.

Catching carp on boilies. Secrets of experienced fishermen:

Fishing for carp differs from other types of fishing in some complexity associated with the choice and preparation of bait. This fish, being the head of a whole family, in addition to its authority and powerful body, has a certain mind that allows it to avoid primitive tricks. Because of this, the choice of bait and the way it is mounted on the hook play a key role in the outcome of a fishing trip.

Boilies

Boilies are dense balls with a diameter of 0.5-3 cm and are intended for use as bait when catching "white" fish. Depending on the purpose, their composition includes several types of flour (soy, corn, semolina, bone or fish), various crushed cereals, egg powder, gluing components, as well as attractants (flavorings).

In the factory, these components are mixed in certain proportions and undergo a certain special heat treatment, on which their density and buoyancy depend. Ready bait balls are painted in the desired color.

They can also be prepared from improvised means from the comfort of your own kitchen. Hand-made preparation of boilies for carp fishing is not particularly difficult. In addition, this option will save you from unnecessary costs and the search for a suitable type of bait.

Benefits of boilies

Boilies deservedly occupy the first place among the existing carp baits. Their shape, color and composition are fully consistent with the culinary preferences of the carp. They have practically replaced other vegetable baits used before their invention.
Today, catching carp on boilies is considered the most effective and popular. The main advantages of this bait over others are:

  • low cost;
  • a composition that includes the most attractive products for carp;
  • the possibility of using with various types of mounting on the hook;
  • versatility of application;
  • resistance to deoxidation in water;
  • the ability to choose the right type depending on the conditions of fishing

Types of boilies

All boilies, depending on the purpose, are divided into:

  • non-sinking (with a density less than water);
  • zero (neutral) buoyancy;
  • sinking;
  • dusty.

Non-sinking balls are used in reservoirs with stagnant water and a bottom of muddy or overgrown with algae. The structure of such a boilie allows it to be afloat, and not burrow into the silt. Neutral baits have zero buoyancy, which allows them to stay in the water column even without a load. Sinking boilies are used on reservoirs with a flat solid bottom, as well as for fishing in moderate currents.

Catching carp on boilies provides for mandatory feeding of the place. It is for this purpose that dust balls are used. They are made in such a way that when they enter the water, they dissolve, forming a "cloud" of small particles of the bait mixture.

The best boilies for carp fishing

According to the composition of the boilies are divided into the following types:

  • meat containing blood or bone meal;
  • fish, which include fishmeal;
  • spicy - with the aroma of garlic, onion, vanilla, cumin and other spices;
  • fruit - with the addition of apple puree, plums, strawberries, bananas;
  • sweet, containing sugar, honey or caramel.

Given that carp have a sweet tooth, baits with sweet and fruity flavors, namely plums, strawberries, pineapples, as well as artificial scopex and octopus flavors, are best suited for fishing. In the spring after spawning and in late autumn, it is perfectly caught on meat, fish boilies, as well as those with the smells of garlic or peppers.

Boilies of own production

Bait balls can be easily prepared in your kitchen. Making boilies for carp fishing does not take much time and money. This will require the following ingredients:

  • semolina, wheat or corn flour - 200 g;
  • fish or bone meal - 200 g;
  • eggs - 5-7 pcs;
  • wheat or neighing bran - 100 g;
  • sunflower cake (top) - 100 g;
  • powdered milk or sports nutrition - 50 g;
  • salt - 50 g.

Salt in the composition of the bait is used as a natural preservative that prevents boilies from spoiling for a long time.

You can also apply the following components:

  • soy flour - 300 g;
  • bird food (compound feed for chickens) - 300 g;
  • wheat flour - 100g;
  • starch - 100 g;
  • peanuts - 50g;
  • hemp seeds - 30 g;
  • salt - 50 g.

All dry ingredients must be ground to a powder, and then add eggs and knead until a very thick dough. Next, the mixture rolls into sausages, cut into small cylinders and formed into balls of the desired diameter.

After that, future boilies are dried on a towel or napkin for at least 2 hours and boiled until a hard crust forms. The next stage of preparation is drying for 12 hours. Using this method, sinking boilies are made at home.

To obtain floating balls, they are not boiled, but dried in a microwave oven until the moisture has completely evaporated.

The above boilie recipes for carp fishing are the simplest. They can be complicated by adding various components depending on the fishing conditions. For a fast flow, for example, you will definitely need gelatin or casein, which will prevent the bait from quickly dissolving. You can and even need to use store-bought flavors, as well as food coloring to color the bait in attractive colors.

Tackle for fishing with boilies

Catching carp on boilies can be carried out with any design that has a hook, but the following gear is most often used:

  • feeder;
  • float gear;
  • ordinary spinning donk;
  • donka with rubber shock absorber;
  • "pacifier";
  • "spring".

Fishing for carp on boilies: hook rigging

Initially, this type of bait was conceived for ordinary hooking. Over time, anglers have perfected rigging by coming up with several unusual ways, the most effective and popular of which is hair rigging. It is considered the most catchy in this type of fishing, like catching carp on boilies.
The installation of a hair rig consists in fixing a special branch of a thin fishing line - “hair” on a leash, on which a boilie is attached with a broaching needle. The bait is located very close to the hook in such a way that the fish, feeling the bait, does not detect it.

The most common hair rigging methods are:

  • D-Rig type equipment is the most popular type of mounting, providing for the greatest amplitude of movement of the hook and boilie, and also eliminating the possibility for the fish to spit them out after swallowing;
  • knotless equipment - simple installation without various additional devices;
  • "reverse blow" - a type of installation in which two halves of the boilie are fixed to the "hair" with convex surfaces to each other;
  • hard rigging - a rig in which the bait is attached very close to the hook, which gives the best opportunity for timely hooking

Features of fishing for boilies

Any bottom gear equipped with boilies significantly increases the efficiency of fishing due to the self-cutting of fish. Swallowing a similar bait along with a bare hook, the carp discovers a catch, tries to spit out the bait and abruptly leave for a safe place. But due to the heavy load, the sharp sting practically does not give the carp a chance to escape.

In order for the carp to respond to the bait, it must not only smell good, but also be an attractive color and size. It is impossible to determine exactly which color the fish likes more, but it has been noticed that in conditions of a muddy and uneven bottom, balls of bright colors have proven themselves better than nondescript bait. It is also necessary to take into account the size of the bait in order to successfully catch carp on boilies. Equipping a hook with a small diameter bait will surely attract small things that will only interfere. In addition, it is unlikely to attract large fish. Therefore, for carp, it is customary to use balls of at least 1.2 cm in diameter.

Using boilies as bait

Experienced anglers say that boilies should be used for bait, similar to those used for bait. This, firstly, will not alert the carp, and secondly, it will not require extra costs.

For bait fishing places it is better to use dusty boilies. Once in the water in a certain area, they quickly dissolve, spreading an attractive smell.

To deliver such bait to the place, you can use a special feeder if fishing is carried out with feeder gear, or use a fishing slingshot designed specifically for this purpose. If the distance is short, you can feed the site manually. Catching carp with boilies using the right bait will significantly increase the efficiency of fishing.

Fishing with the use of boilies as bait when catching carp fish is the most productive. Compared to other types of baits, boilies benefit from ease of use, reliability of attachment to gear, and also due to the ability to simultaneously be both bait and bait. In addition, fishing with the use of such a bait excludes the bite of small fish, since it is simply not able to swallow a boilie intended for large specimens. In our country, they learned about boilies relatively recently, but in European countries they have been successfully used for several decades.

What are boilies

Boilies are balls ranging in size from 5 to 30 mm, consisting of a base (semolina, corn or soy flour), a mixture of ground cereals, vegetable oil, eggs or egg powder, various protein supplements in the form of meat, fish or bone meal, flavorings, and also gluing substances (starch, casein, gelatin). The components mixed in certain proportions are boiled, after which balls of the desired size are formed from this mass. Next, the boilies are painted in the desired color and dry until a strong upper crust is formed, which prevents the bait from sagging in the water.

Types of boilies

The buoyancy of the bait depends on the degree of temperature treatment - the more boiled ones have a higher density, therefore they sink in water, and those that have succumbed to short-term temperature influence do not sink at all or have an average immersion.

According to buoyancy, boilies differ in three types:

drowning
floating neutral buoyancy

The first type is most often used when catching fish that feed from the bottom, such as carp or bream, in reservoirs with a clean, hard bottom. They can also be used as bait. Neutral boilies are best suited for muddy or overgrown bottoms for hunting any type of fish. With zero buoyancy, such bait does not go deep into the silt, it is easier to swallow by fish and does not interfere with signaling a weak bite. Non-sinking balls are used in combination with sinking ones to create a combined bait, called “snowman” by anglers. Such a solution, especially when combining balls of different composition and color, makes the bait more interesting for fish.

There is also a special type of boilies - dusty. The peculiarity of such a bait is that during their manufacture, the working mass is not boiled, but simply dried. Such boilies, getting into the water, dissolve, forming a kind of "cloud" of the smallest particles. For greater effect, milk powder, cocoa or other "dusty" powders are added to the mixture. "Dusty" balls, due to their rapid solubility in water, are not used as direct bait, but are used together with sinking or floating boilies. The fish, having approached such an appetizing "cloud", begins to suck in particles of bait, and when it sees the bait, it is taken for it.

Today on the market and in specialized fishing stores you can freely purchase ready-made boilies of any size, color and purpose. The choice of the type, size and color of such a bait depends on the place of fishing, taking into account the depth and current of the reservoir, the gear used, as well as the fish that is supposed to be caught.

On sale you can find round and cylindrical boilies. The former gained great popularity due to their versatility and aerodynamic properties when casting. Cylinders or tablets are less popular, but deserve special attention. In general, the shape of the bait does not particularly affect the activity of biting, however, there is an opinion that in reservoirs where fishermen use the same type of bait, the fish behaves very carefully with it. In addition, cylindrical boilies are more convenient when they are made independently. There is no need to manually form each ball, just roll the finished mass into a sausage and cut it.

Features of catching carp fish on boilies

The main role in luring fish is assigned to the smell. Her sense of smell is well developed, which allows her to find potential food in troubled waters even at night. But it is impossible to recommend a specific smell for a particular type of fish. It is known that carp loves fruity and sweet smells, bream and crucian carp - the smell of vanilla, valerian, garlic and dill, roach - the smell of roasted seeds, hemp and almonds. However, it is not advisable to take boilies with one smell for fishing, as fish preferences change depending on the weather, time of day and just mood. Only by experimenting with the bait can a good bite and, consequently, a catch be achieved.

Dimensions

It is worth considering the size of the boilies. The choice of their size depends on the estimated size of the fish that is planned to be caught. Lures up to 10 mm in size are used for hunting bream, crucian carp, tench and other medium-sized fish. When fishing for carp, balls with a diameter of 12 mm or more are used.

The advantage of small boilies is that they attract the attention of the fish during the period of its weak activity, while large balls will alert it. Large-diameter bait is best used when fishing for carp, especially in the current, where he does not have time to think. In such conditions, he instantly swallows a large bait the first time.

Boilies color

As for the response of the fish to lure color, then there is no unambiguous opinion about the best color. And, although we don’t even know for sure whether fish can distinguish colors, bait manufacturers claim that for bottom fishing in deep waters with a clean bottom, light-colored boilies - white, light green, pink - are the best option. With a muddy or overgrown bottom, the color of the bait will not play a special role. In the water column, it is recommended to use bright colors: red, yellow, orange, which will make the fish draw attention to themselves. If boilies are also used as bait, then the attachment ball should not differ from them in color, size, or smell.

Installation of a boilie on a hook

Initially, boilies were invented as bait, mounted directly on the hook, but over time, several alternative ways of attaching them to tackle were invented to increase the efficiency of fishing. Usually, a hair rig is used, which implies fixing the bait not on the hook, but on the fishing line next to it. This method was invented by English fishermen and is based on the peculiarities of carp feeding. This cautious fish first “feels” the bait with its lips, and only then swallows it. If in the process of such research, the carp finds a hook, it immediately tries to spit it out. With a hair rig, the fish swallows a safe bait, after which a bare hook enters its mouth, which is almost impossible to spit out.

The installation of a hair rig can be different, depending on the imagination of the angler. Its most common types are:

- the simplest and most popular equipment without the use of additional devices.

"Blow Back" (reverse blow)- equipment with several mounting options. Its design provides for a greater penetration of the hook into the lips of the fish when trying to get rid of it. One of the options for such equipment is the "butterfly", in which two halves of one or different boilies are installed on the "hair" with convex sides to each other.

In order to understand basic principles of hair rigging it is enough to study the knotless technique of knitting tackle, which every self-respecting carp hunter should know. The algorithm for its creation includes the following steps:

  1. A loop is knitted at the end of the leash with a simple knot;
  2. The other end of the leash is threaded into the eye of the hook and pulled to the optimal length of the “hair” (the end of the leash with a loop). This value is selected individually depending on the size of the boilie or the preferences of the angler. Most often it does not exceed 15 mm;
  3. The free end of the leash is wrapped around the hook with the “hair” (minimum 7 turns);
  4. The end of the leash is passed through the eye, tightening the knot;

At the end of the process, the knot can be fixed with a special glue for fishing line, which hardens under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.

To fix the boilie on the “hair loop” of the leash, a special hand drill and a broaching needle with a hook are used. With the help of the first, the boilie is drilled through. A needle with a hook is inserted into the hole formed so that the hook comes out from the back. Next, the loop of the leash is hooked and pulled through the hole. A boilie silicone stopper is inserted into the stretched loop for fixing.

Catching carp fish on boilies

Catching carp fish with the help of boilies involves the use of a carp rod or feeder as a tackle. In both cases, the use of a feeder will be required. The most flattering reviews of carp anglers received PVA stick and feeder "Method".

PVA feeder

A PVA bag used to feed fish when fishing with a rod is a cylindrical mesh, 15 to 35 mm in diameter, made of water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol, colorless and odorless.

The stick is filled with the bait chosen by the fisherman. It can be a variety of purchased and home-made mixtures or whole or crushed boilies. Once in the water column or the bottom, the bag dissolves, forming a bait zone around the hook. PVA bag can be attached to tackle four ways:

“Method” (left) and “PVA” (right)

  • on a leash(the most distant casting is ensured and twisting around the hook is excluded);
  • directly on the hook(fastest fastening);
  • on the "hair"(when used as a bait for a boilie);
  • on a specially provided, in the place where the leash is attached, a clip(eliminates breakage of the leash during casting, provides quick attachment)

In order not to overdo it with the choice of stick size, you need to take into account the time of year, day, and casting distance. Most often, PVA bags with a diameter of no more than 20 mm are used. Sticks with a large diameter are used in early spring and late autumn, when fishing at night, as well as when fishing without the use of the main bait.
Sometimes the use of two PVA bags is used. In this case, the load and bait with air (boilies) are placed in the first, and bait (“dusty mixture”) and a hook without air are placed in the second. This method is suitable for fishing in places overgrown with algae, where the hook with bait can linger on their leaves.

Feeder "Method"

No less popular is the "Method" feeder. Such feeders are made of special plastic and are designed exclusively for catching large fish. This device is a feeder open on one side, and on the other side - a deaf flat or curved bottom. The upper part has several open ribs to connect the groundbait. Light fixture options are designed for fishing in reservoirs with a muddy bottom, and heavier options for a hard bottom and in current.

The peculiarity of the "Method" is shifting the center of gravity to its bottom, which allows the feeder to always lie on the bottom with the open side up. The device can “slide” along the tackle, or it can be fixed “tightly”. A “sliding” feeder is used with weak fish activity, and a “deaf”, on the contrary, with a good biting. The leash with a "blind" installation is made small - 5-7 cm. This length is optimal and best of all ensures the self-hooking of the fish on the hook.

Groundbait mix for "Method", given the open design, should be more viscous than usual. To prepare the feeder, you need to compress the bait well. For this, special molds are commercially available. The formation of the feeder is as follows. A hook with a bait is placed in the mold, and the mixture is laid on top. Then it's all covered with the "Method" feeder and pressed. The feeder is ready.

When preparing for fishing with boilies, regardless of the gear chosen, it must be borne in mind that:

  • You can not be limited to one type of boilies. It is better to take less tackle, but take with you more bait of various sizes, colors and smells. By the way, this also applies to bait;
  • the size of the boilie should be commensurate with the size of the hook.
  • If the hook is significantly smaller than the bait, the fish will simply spit it out, but if the hook is larger than the boilie, this will alert her;
  • Only by experimentation can you create the perfect tackle with the perfect bait.

Fishing for carp on boilies is catching large carp on special dough balls prepared by boiling or steam processing. In the process of cooking, flavorings, dyes, and digestive stimulants are added to them. Boilies are used both as bait and bait for fish. A boilie put on a hook attracts carp with its appearance, aroma, and taste. In this article we will consider all the nuances of choosing and making boilies for carp.

Types of boilies

Conventionally, boilies are divided into the following types:

According to the degree of buoyancy

  • Sinking boilies;
  • Boilies of neutral buoyancy;
  • Floating boilies (pop-up).

By cooking method

  • Shop boilies;
  • Cooked at home.

By way of application

  • Bait boilies;
  • Packed boilies;

According to the degree of solubility in water

  • Slightly soluble boilies;
  • Dusty boilies.

According to the form of manufacture

  • Ball-shaped boilies;
  • Cylindrical boilies.

Carp is a bottom fish, and feeds mainly in the lower layers of the reservoir. But it can also feed on the surface. Its diet includes algae, snails, all kinds of crustaceans, freshwater shrimp, and worms.

sinking boilies made of such a density that they immediately lay down on the bottom.

floating- float to the surface. And boilies with neutral buoyancy rise above the bottom level up to 1 cm. Thanks to these varieties, you can vary the location of the bait relative to the bottom of the reservoir.

Features of mounting gear allow you to use several types of boilies at the same time. Various combinations of floating and sinking components will allow you to choose the most optimal option, in relation to the conditions of the desired reservoir.

On a hard, flat bottom, it is advisable to use sinking or neutral boilies. On uneven, muddy or grassy surfaces, floating nozzles work best.

Dusty boilies, getting into the water, almost immediately begin to dissolve. They form a plume of small nutrient particles of the bait. The resulting turbidity attracts carp.

Bait boilies

This type of boilies is used exclusively to attract carp to the fishing area. Used as bait. They lie on the bottom and, dissolving (releasing turbidity), attract carp. Bait boilies have a low nutritional value, so as not to saturate the carp.

Store boilies

Store-bought boilies come in a variety of flavors - cherry, nut, strawberry, liver, meat, fruit, etc., but there is no exact answer as to which boilies are best. Below is a list of the best store-bought boilies.

Making boilies for carp with your own hands

For convenient preparation of boilies at home, a special rolling board is used. You can also use an ordinary rolling pin to roll out the “dough” of boilies.

The preparation of carp boilies can be divided into stages:

  1. A dry mix is prepared according to an individual recipe.
  2. Added flavor enhancer, flavor, preservatives, dye. It should be remembered that all additives must be heat resistant.
  3. The dough is kneaded. It should be viscous, steep, not sticky to hands.
  4. The finished dough is wrapped in a plastic bag and infused for at least one hour.
  5. "Sausages" of the desired diameter are twisted from the dough. Using a rolling board, balls of a certain size are made.
  6. Ready balls are lowered into boiling water (like dumplings). After the water boils again, cook for 5 minutes or until they float.
  7. Boilies are dried in a dark place.

Flavors (attractants)

One of the flavors.

Remember that there are no ideal attractants suitable for any reservoirs and conditions for carp fishing. What's more, using the wrong scent can ruin your fishing trip. This also applies to baits heavily oversaturated with flavors.

Types of flavorings according to the method of application:

  • Liquids- added during cooking.
  • Deeps(liquid, gel-like) - boilies are immersed in them, and can be processed in this way from several minutes to several months.
  • Booster, vegetable oils- are used for use in bait.

Main flavors used:

  • Fruit group (strawberry, plum, pineapple, banana);
  • Vanilla;
  • Caramel;
  • Hemp;
  • Corn;
  • Aroma of shrimp;
  • Crab aroma;
  • Shell aroma;
  • Spices (anise, coriander, fenugreek, sweet clover, cloves, ginger);
  • Spices.

Spices can be attributed to both flavorings and appetite stimulants. They contain vitamins, antioxidants, essential oils, biologically active substances. The total proportion of spice content should not exceed 3-5%. The most common spices are: garlic, chili, paprika, cinnamon, asafoetida, turmeric, black pepper, salt.

Digestive stimulants

Typical herbal digestive stimulants

Digestive stimulants are added to quickly assimilate the food consumed by the carp. This, in turn, increases the carp's appetite. Properly selected digestive stimulants can reduce the amount of added attractants. They are added to a greater extent to bait boilies, and to a lesser extent to packed ones.

Enzymes that improve digestion:

Chemical:

  • Festal;
  • Mezym Forte;
  • Panzynorm Forte;
  • Power Enzyme Complex.

Vegetable:

  • Dill;
  • Fennel;
  • Sunflower cake;
  • Hemp.

Dyes

To improve the efficiency of catching carp, boilies for carp are given all kinds of colors. For painting, food coloring or specialized paints are used, which can be bought at fishing stores. Some food colorings may contain vitamins. These include paints based on carotenoids. They not only add color to the boilie, but are also a vitamin addition to the carp menu.

Boilies Ingredients

Ingredients that are present in carp boilies:

Main

  • Flour (corn, pea, rice, etc.);
  • Fish products (dried and chopped fish, crustaceans, mollusks). They contain a lot of protein;
  • Milk protein for boilies (basic component);
  • Bird food (used as a base mix);
  • Blood processing products (basic component, plus attractant);
  • Egg powder or eggs;
  • Seaweed powder.

Additional

  • Flavors;
  • Dyes;
  • flavor enhancers;
  • Essential oils;
  • preservatives.

Boilies sizes

The sizes of boilies can be conditionally divided into small (5-14 mm) and large (14-30 mm). Most types of white fish react to small boilies. This can create problems for targeted carp hunting. Therefore, in summer and early autumn, it is preferable to use large boilies. During low activity, medium-sized boilies are preferred for carp.

A few recipes for homemade carp boilies that you can make at home:

Recipe #1

Recipe based on 250 g of dry mix (strawberries);

For 250 g of the basic loose mixture, add betaine and casein (flavor enhancers), natural preservatives or salt (table or sea), sugar, dye, beat in eggs, add flavoring. We knead the dough. Let's settle down. Cook 5 min. Boilies are ready.

Recipe #2

Based on 200 gr. ready-made boilies (corn).

  1. Crack one egg into a bowl, then add:
  2. Salt 5 gr.
  3. colorless gelatin.
  4. Tablespoon of honey.
  5. Yellow dye.
  6. Add and mix in cornmeal (preferably coarsely ground) to a dense porridge.
  7. Add and mix in regular flour (about 20% of the amount of cornmeal).
  8. Stir to the state of a steep dough, wrap in a bag and give 20-30 minutes. settle down.
  9. We compress the dough (do not roll it out) in our hands to an approximate size, after we get a sausage, we roll it out to the desired diameter
  10. We make balls.
  11. In a double boiler, steam for 5 minutes or cook like dumplings - when they float, immediately get it. Dry for 2-5 days out of direct sunlight.

Boilies are ready.

Recipe #3

We make a dry mix.

Recipe #4

Quite an interesting and easy way to make boilies from bread.

  1. Cut off two even pieces of bread about 1-1.5 cm thick. Trim off hard edges.
  2. Roll out individually to a thickness of 2-5 mm. Trim the edges.
  3. Lubricate one sheet with jam (jam, honey, syrup), sprinkle with dry milk.
  4. Put another one on top of the processed bread sheet.
  5. Using a rolling pin, lightly press one sheet against another (roll out)
  6. Trim the edges.

Carp boilies are ready.

Now there are two ways to prepare a carp bait:

  1. Cut the resulting blank sheet into narrow strips. Then cut each strip into squares.
  2. Take a syringe of the desired diameter. Cut off the part along with the mouth (from the side of the needle). Now we just push the bread blanks. Using a piston, we squeeze out the resulting nozzle.

How to increase the catch of fish?

For 7 years of active passion for fishing, I have found dozens of ways to improve the bite. Here are the most effective ones:

  1. Biting activator. This pheromone additive lures fish the most in cold and warm water. .
  2. Raise gear sensitivity. Read the appropriate manuals for the particular type of tackle.
  3. Lures based pheromones.

Equipment for boilies

The success of catching trophy fish specimens depends on the correctly selected boilie equipment.

Hook selection

It is selected based on the size of the boilie and the fish you are going to catch. On a large hook, a relatively small carp will not peck. A small hook, large individuals can simply straighten or break.

The main parameter for choosing a hook is to make it convenient to put on the boilie and not fall off when casting. For this, hooks with a maximum bend are selected. On sale there are special carp hooks of various sizes. Which one to choose depends on the specific situation and the specific boilie you are going to use.

Boilies of small sizes are mounted on the tip of the hook. Large boilies have a more complex installation. The nozzle is not put on a hook, but, as it were, tied to it. The piece of fishing line on which the nozzle is attached is called a hair. With this method of installation, the hook remains free. This method can also be used for traditional baits (peas, corn, potatoes).

There are two main types of fastening large boilies:

  1. The “hair” is the part of the leash that remains after tying this leash to the hook.
  2. The hair with attachments attached to it is separately tied to the hook.

A loop is made at the end of the hair, into which a stopper is inserted. This prevents the nozzle from flying off when casting. Boilies are strung on the hair with a fishing needle.

Knotless installation

A feature of this installation is that the hook is mounted to the leash without the use of knots:

  1. A loop is knitted on a leash;
  2. The other end of the leash is threaded from the outside into the eye of the hook. The distance between the loop and the eye will be the hair;
  3. We wrap the leash 6-8 times around the shank of the hook;
  4. We pass the leash from the outside, through the eye of the hook;
  5. We tighten.

There are many combinations of the above two methods of attaching a boilie to a hook.

"Blowback Rig" ("BLOWBACK RIG")

Mounting order:

  1. On a leash (15 -25 cm) we make a loop on one side;
  2. We fasten the nozzle with the help of a stopper and this loop;
  3. After 2 cm from the nozzle, he ties a ring with a regular knot;
  4. We dress the ring through the tip of the hook, pull the leash so that the ring is on the forend of the hook where the fold begins;
  5. We knit a leash in a knotless way;
  6. We connect the leash with the main fishing line.

Boil equipment "D-Rig"

Rig “D-Rig”

Installation procedure using a fluorocarbon leash:

  1. We knit a leash to the hook in a knotless way. From the side of the tip, we leave 3 cm of fishing line (hair), we cut the rest.
  2. We put a ring on the hair, put the free end into the eye of the hook and melt it - the so-called lock. It turned out a loop with a ring.
  3. We tie a swivel (size 4) to the leash (using a loop). It serves as a connecting element and an anchor at the same time. The distance between the eye of the hook and the swivel is 1.5-2.0 cm.
  4. On the other side of the swivel we tie a piece of fishing line (15–20 cm). He will connect the tackle to the main fishing line.
  5. With the help of a thin fishing line, we tie a boilie to the ringlet (on a loop) using a small swivel.

Rigid rigging

Rigid equipment (stiff-rig)

The main difference of this type of equipment is the use of solid types of fishing line in the installation. The nozzle, in this case, is fixed in close proximity to the hook.

The process and technique of catching carp on boilies

To start catching carp on boilies, you need to determine a suitable point on the pond. This is done with a marker rod. The marker is thrown to the maximum distance. With the help of a special load, the bottom relief is studied, the optimal place is determined. The sinker dragging along the bottom determines all the irregularities, the nature and structure of the bottom.

A marker float will help determine the depth. For more accurate measurements, several casts are made. From practice it is known that it is better to catch on the bottom elevation, the so-called edge. For more effective fishing, it is better to find several sites, at different distances from the coast.

After determining a promising place, attention should be paid to carp bait.

  • Finely dispersed;
  • Large fraction;
  • Animal components;
  • Flavors;
  • Sweeteners (molasses, molasses);
  • Soil (for weighting, dilution of nutritional value);
  • The bait that is supposed to be caught;
  • Water from a pond.

After sifting the fine fraction and mixing with the coarse one, the mixture is moistened. The bait is allowed to infuse. The remaining components are added. The mixture is brought to the desired consistency (diluted with water). Balls are floating. They should not break on the water when casting, but easily disintegrate at the bottom. The main thing is to let the boilies dry. After 10-12 hours at room temperature, the boilies are ready.

Feeding point

"Rockets" for bait

Points are fed with the help of special feeders (rockets), on the course they use “rockets” with weighting. To feed carp at one point, after the first cast, the line is clipped onto the spool. This will allow you to constantly keep the same distance. A landmark chosen on the opposite bank will show the desired direction. You can also feed carp with a fishing slingshot.

It is not necessary to look for such bait gear for baiting carp. You can make such a device yourself. It's quite simple - any semi-closed container made of plastic or other durable material that does not deform in water will do. It is only necessary to tie a fishing line, braid or just ropes to such a feeder and make through holes 0.5 - 0.7 cm in size in it. It is important to remember that you should not use linen ropes, which can simply break at one moment.

The first feeding of carp is quite plentiful - up to 2 liters of bait mixture. In the process of fishing, there is a constant supplementary feeding of the place. This is done to keep the fish on the spot. When feeding carp, you can use bait boilies. It is convenient to deliver them to the place of fishing - with a throwing tube (cobra).

Catching process

After the place is baited, proceed to the fishing process itself. It can be divided into five stages:

  1. Equip the rod with a leash, feeder. Check the security of fastening. Bait the nozzle, score the feeder. Throw the tackle in the right place.
  2. Set the forms on the prepared stands. Adjust line tension. Install .
  3. Set the clutch correctly. He should let the line come off the spool freely, with a strong first jerk of the fish. If the coil is with a baitrunner, put it in working position.
  4. Refill the feeder periodically.
  5. Hooking, hauling carp.

Choice of boilies for different situations

It is worth using boilies taking into account the season, the place of fishing, the preference of fish for certain smells. Therefore, in your arsenal you need to have baits of various types, sizes, colors and flavors.

From the temperature of the water, the taste of carp also changes. Therefore, it is worth making adjustments to the baits used for different seasons.

  • Spring. Bait (10 mm), with the smell of spices or fish options. Bright colors are used.
  • Summer. Boilies of both large and small sizes. Various color combinations. They are selected depending on the specific conditions of fishing. There are no special restrictions here.
  • Autumn. Nozzles preferably with non-sweet flavors.
  • Winter. Small, bright boilies, with a pronounced crustacean taste.

Catching carp on the feeder

It is optimal to use forms with a length of 3 with dough up to 100 gr. They easily allow you to catch fish weighing up to 10 kg. For larger carps, feeders with a test of one hundred or more grams are used.

Tooling:

  1. Monofilament (0.2 mm) or braided fishing line (0.12–0.13 mm);
  2. Leashes (0.12-0.18 mm.);
  3. carp hooks;
  4. Feeders.

For feeders, any of the known carp rigs can be used. The most catchy include - "paternoster", "method".

Coils are selected in sizes 3000, 4000 with a moderately powerful gear ratio (1:4.6 - 1:5.2).

Bait is prepared from different fractions, with the addition of live ingredients and flavorings. Be sure to add what will be fishing. They start fishing directly after determining the point and feeding it.

feeders

Although feeders also apply to feeder fishing for carp, we will still analyze some of the main points. The main requirement for carp feeders is their ability to deliver as much food as possible to the fishing point. For carp fishing, feeder feeders of an open or closed type are used. Closed it is good to apply on reservoirs with a course, the rivers. Bait is washed out of them much more slowly.

The round feeder is one of the most popular feeder variations.

The shape of the feeders is varied:

  • rounded;
  • Rectangular;
  • Flat.

They are all divided into two types:

  1. Shipped;
  2. Not loaded.

PVA feeders

There are many PVA materials that are used in carp fishing:

  • Grids;
  • packages;
  • threads.

The main advantage of these feeders- spot delivery of bait. PVA material, dissolving in water, forms a hill of bait at the bottom. Next to it is a bait with a hook. You can fill the nets or bags with any bait. The main thing is that it is dry before loading.

Bait carp boilies are strung on a PVA thread.

Installation of the feeder is carried out:

  1. On a leash;
  2. On hook;
  3. On the hair;
  4. On a clip located at the point of attachment of the leash.

The main variations of equipment when fishing on a feeder

Feeder "Method"

Classic method feeders have a flat bottom. This is an open type device with 2 - 3 ribs. Due to the shifted center of gravity, it lies on the bottom in a certain position. Therefore, the baited hook is always located on top of the bait. The feeder uses one hook with a short leash (up to 10 cm). Usually made of plastic, with a weight of 30 - 80 gr. The installation of such feeders can be "deaf" or "sliding".

Bait for carp for these feeders is made viscous so that it does not fall out when casting. Boilies and pellets are added to the feed. Such cormacs are well suited for fishing for boilies, using the installation of "hair".

Carp fishing in different seasons

Spring

In early spring, carp behave extremely passively, occasionally swimming up to the shores when the water begins to warm up. By the end of April, you can start trying to catch our voracious friend, but you should not hope for a rich catch. It begins to behave more actively already in May, when the water warms up completely and the carp begins to eat and spawn. The success of spring bites largely depends on the temperature and the choice of the reservoir and the specific location of fishing.

Summer

In summer, carp, like any heat-loving fish, begins an extremely active bite. It is worth remembering that after a temperature mark of + 18-21 degrees, the carp begins to look for cooler places in the reservoir. It can be any recesses, pits, dumps, hidden places, snags, and other unremarkable places. The more devastated the place looks, the more likely it is that the carp has quieted down there.

Especially active carp behaves in the first month of summer. Then, in July and especially August, its activity subsides. You should never forget about the temperature regime, because the behavior of carp depends on the weather. For example: if it is June evening, and it is raining lightly with a temperature of about 18, then you can safely go fishing.

Autumn

In autumn, in September, especially if there are no sharp colds, you can still try to catch carp. But closer to October and November, its appearance should not be expected at all. However, this does not apply to the southern regions of the CIS countries (Krasnodar, Odessa, Moldova, Astrakhan).

Choosing a place to fish

The choice of location depends on the gear and conditions of the reservoir. Definitions of casting distance, topography and bottom type.

Still water fishing

When fishing for carp from the shore(pond, lake, bay) first, a promising place is sought. All kinds of pits, zakoryazhenye areas. Such places are very fond of carp. Gear is selected based on the conditions of the reservoir.

It is easier to find the right place from the boat. It allows you to approach those areas where it is impossible to cast from the shore. With such fishing, float rods are usually used. Bait for stagnant water is chosen finely dispersed, light enough.

Fishing in the current

In the current, more powerful rods are used. You have to throw heavy feeders to keep them at the fishing point. Bait - from large fractions, based on natural additives (fishmeal, shell, snail).

Fishing in muddy water

In muddy water, carp are less cautious. Reservoirs with a limestone or clay bottom, where there are springs or currents, retain their turbidity constantly. In such places, even large fish can be caught near the shore. Here, aroma has a greater influence on the nozzle, and less color.

Fishing depending on the type of bottom and soil

On muddy ponds, a method feeder will work well. She does not sink in mud. When fishing in such conditions, floating boilies or with neutral buoyancy are used.

On stony brows or in places where the bottom is covered with shells, a shock leader should be used. It will protect the main cord from chafing. On such reservoirs, nozzles with a natural taste for carp (shell, snail) will be more efficient.

Carp activity in the morning And In the evening

The intensity of the bite depends on the heating of the water. When the water is heated to 20 ° C, the carp becomes lethargic, moves a little through the reservoir. He goes out to feed at night. Therefore, it is worth catching him in the evening, when he goes to eat, or in the early morning.
