Phu Quoc - full review of all places. The best beaches in Phu Quoc (Vietnam): map, reviews, photos Phu Quoc Vietnam reviews where the best beach is

Phu Quoc Island is just beginning its large-scale tourist development; yes, it is not a completely wild place, but it can hardly be called fully developed. This is precisely why it can attract the attention of travelers who want to see the untouched beauty of wild tropical nature and bask in the sun on half-empty beaches, sometimes even with white sand. Phu Quoc is an island located in the south of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand.

A great place for a beach holiday in our winter. Here, from the end of November to April, wonderful weather prevails for a relaxing beach holiday. You should not go here from May to October. The sea becomes rough during this period. And streams of water pour from the sky, which at a certain period fill the streets of the city and you almost have to swim through them. This is what it looks like. In this article I will tell you about the beautiful and deserted beaches of Fukuoka Island, where in some places there is even white sand. Sometimes it even looks like something out of a bounty chocolate commercial.

  • The main beach of Phu Quoc Island is Long Beach. it is along it that the bulk of all hotels, cafes, restaurants, and shops are located, and all other beaches need to be reached around the island by bike or taxi.
  • The sea in season (November to April) is mostly calm in the west, warm, clean - a great place for a quiet beach holiday. Sandy gentle entry into the sea. Convenient place to relax with children.
  • The scorching sun can ruin your holiday, if on the first day you go swimming from 11 am to 2 pm without any sunscreen or a cape, but even with protection at this time it is better not to appear in the sun. It’s better not to overdo it with swimming because the sun reflects even more strongly from the water. Sunset is approaching around 18:00 in the evening.
  • Beach fleas and flies are found on beaches in many Asian countries., but don’t be alarmed, their bites can be avoided if you follow the simplest rules. Lie on a mat or chaise lounge. Standing on wet sand in the waves. Move, when walking they will not have time to bite you, fleas are very lazy creatures. About flea and insect bites, Zhenya wrote an article where he tells what local ointments can help relieve itching if you are bitten -
  • All beaches are city beaches and they do not belong to hotels, know this if you are not allowed to go to the sea. There are, of course, expensive hotels with a closed area through which security guards may not allow you to pass. However, no one can stop you from walking on the beach. The phrase “Call police” (call the police) has a sobering effect on them if you are walking along the beach and not breaking into the main gate of the hotel
  • To find these beaches locally, purchase a SIM card with Internet access. Which SIM card and what tariffs to buy in Fukuoka. Use Google map, which shows almost all the beaches of the island.

I wanted to post a separate video for each beach, but I decided that it was better to provide a link to the playlist:

BeachLongBeach(Long Beach)

This beach is located on the western side of the island. Most of the hotels in all of Fukuoka were built in close proximity to it. This is where the entire tourist life of the island takes place, there are many cafes, restaurants, and shops. This is the main densely populated beach of the island. There are a lot of people now. Tourists, service personnel, hotels, the river carrying city garbage - all this does not benefit cleanliness.

Long Beach is quite long with a gently sloping sandy entrance. The sand on it is yellow, and in some places the beach is narrow due to the buildings of various hotels close to the sea. The length of the beach, according to various sources, is from 10 to 15 km. Now Long Beach is divided into many small beaches. For example, the well-known Golden Sand Beach, Episode, Sunset Beach - this is all one Long Beach.

During the high season, with an influx of tourists, Between December and February, biting plankton breed in Fukuoka waters. People have different reactions to it: from light biting to allergic reactions. It is not possible to predict the reaction in advance, but in most cases the itching goes away within 5-10 minutes after leaving the sea. But plankton is not always there, which is very pleasing.

Sun loungers in most places in Fukuoka are paid for, we saw the price of 100 dong (300 rubles) for one day, and free if you live in a hotel on the beach. Compared to Cambodia, it is a bit expensive, because... there, the price for a sun lounger on the beach was the same as buying something in a cafe, it could even be water for $1.

Episode and Golden Sand Beach - part of Long Beach

Since Long Binch is very long (it’s not for nothing that it was called that), some parts of it cannot be seen without a vehicle (scooter or taxi). Since 2017, the northern part of the beach (right on the territory of the Sanset Sonato hotel) has become famous for its new project Episode. Here you can see the remains of art objects created by the builders of Kazantip and partially destroyed by the Episode. Access to the beach is paid, but you can enter by water from the Golden Sand Beach bar, as, let me remind you The entire coastline of Fukuoka is urban and cannot be private!

Beach episode coordinates on Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/65NJeFb41XK2

Episode features amazing buildings that have already become a new attraction in Fukuoka. You can see them and capture them on camera, and it’s completely free, you just need to get there. And argue a little with the security, proving that 30 meters of the beach in Vietnam is a public place and cannot be private territory.

Unfortunately, these fish no longer exist - they were demolished along with some other objects

Right behind the fence from Episode there is another interesting beach with an old Zhiguli and many objects for an unusual photo session. This is one of the places in Fukuoka with free sun loungers. This Golden Sand Beach- golden sand beach. Cafe, music and a great place for a sunset:

Finding the beach on a Google map is also not difficult: https://goo.gl/maps/Pj6hgrnULY92

Also quite a nice place with beach parties - This is Sunset Beach. It houses a bar of the same name, where daily performances by Vietnamese and foreign DJs are held. Prices in the bar are slightly higher than the city average, but quite normal for the beach. Free sun loungers and a relaxed atmosphere

Bai Sao Beach (Sao Beach orBaiSao)

To get to Bai Sao beach you need to go to the south of the island, approximately 20-25 km from the city of Duong Dong. You can rent a scooter, or take a taxi (by the way, a taxi costs 8,000-10,000 dong for 1 km). The main road leading to it is of good quality, but the last 2 km at the exit is a completely bad dirt road. It was very inconvenient to ride a bike because of the piled-up stones, and taxi drivers and buses were constantly overtaking us and raising dust. Therefore, if you go there once, just to see the beach, it is better to choose a taxi, but if difficulties do not frighten you, then:

The first impression of the beach is amazing:

  • The snow-white sand hurts your eyes
  • blue bay (everything as advertised)
  • palm trees with swings hanging on them

I have never seen such a beautiful beach.

Coordinates of Bai Sao beach in Fukuoka on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/wjY3ppYMjXN2

However, upon closer inspection, Bai Sao Beach is not at all deserted. Several hotels stand on it and guests sunbathe on sun loungers. Other tourists constantly come from different parts of the island to see and capture the beauty of the beach. Therefore, taking a photo on the swing turns into a small queue, because everyone wants a great shot on such an amazing beach. By the way, they will charge you 20,000 dong for the swing, but you can do without the fees.

There is some rubbish in the bushes between the hotels and in the tidal wave which really spoils the view. The dirt is usually cleaned up by hotel workers, but during the high season the sea throws up new garbage every day. Perhaps you should come to this beach early in the morning to enjoy the peace and tranquility. You can also go a little to the side or stop by the neighboring Paradise Beach - more about it below.

The sea seemed transparent due to the white sand, although it was exciting that day. Our guys also stayed to sunbathe in the shade, and they were badly bitten by midges.

We wouldn’t live here on the outskirts; apart from a couple of hotels and a cafe, there’s nothing else here. There is no infrastructure, this is a place for short-term relaxation and self-immersion, but many residents of megacities strive for this, for a two-week solitude from the whole world. This is the review recently left by guests of Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka:

Firstly, the road is personally from us, and we are online - it costs about 500,000, secondly, these most popular swings are paid, each for 20,000, while no one is there - of course you can take a quick photo. But if you approach, a ton of negativity will fall on you, like “no, don’t sit here, you can’t sit here,” and just almost forcefully kick you out of there. The sea is dirty, when you walk along the beach you have diapers and dead fish under your feet. When you sit on the beach (and you can’t sit everywhere, unless you rent a sun lounger for 100,000), you are driven from a good place to a dirty one, where even an old toothbrush is lying on the sand. Small children walk around with garbage bags, saying they are collecting garbage, and asking for money, just like in the Indian slums. In general, I don’t even have words

Paradiso Beach – Paradiso Restaurant

But this is truly a paradise beach. The beach is located next to the hotel territory. You can walk through calmly, leaving the bike in the parking lot - the cost is 100,000 dong. But with this money you can order yourself a cocktail at the bar, so in essence it’s just a deposit. The sand here is the same pure white, but unlike Bai Sao:

  • the beach here is regularly cleaned and cleaned very well
  • swings are free
  • no beggars
  • clean shower and toilet

Bai Ong Lang (BaiOngLang)

The beach lies north of the town of Duong Dong on the west coast of the island. There are also cafes and bars here; you wouldn’t dare call it secluded; in some ways it resembles Long Beach. However, all the beaches here are good, each in its own way.

Back in the 2018 season, it could be recommended for a quiet family holiday with children. But now there is construction almost everywhere in this area. A bit noisy. Some beaches were closed to guests. In general, the area is still better, since it is located above the river, so there is much less dirt in the water. Biting plankton also rarely appears here.

Coordinates of the central beach of On Lang on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/quYB62N6DwL2

However, vacationers and guests of Phu Quoc Island also prefer neighboring beaches, for example the beach of the Mango Bay Hotel, where tourists are freely allowed. How does the beach enviably differ from the city limits of Long Beach, where not every hotel welcomes guests?

.

Bai Vung Bau

This beach is located north of the city of Duong Dong, approximately 10-12 km, you cannot get there on foot, a taxi or bike will help you with this. Having driven towards it from the main road, we realized that it was far away, and the road was not particularly good, we had to walk on gravel and such red earth.
The hotels are located far from the beach, so there are not many guests here, everyone comes, whoever uses what - scooters, taxis or bicycles.

At the same time, it is not crowded, there is one cafe on it with its own sun loungers and an offer to sit there and order something tasty; probably, when ordering, they will not ask you to pay for the sun lounger itself. However, no one bothers you to move to one side and sit in the shade of the trees.

Bai Dai Beach (Bai Dai Beach)

You can get to this beach before reaching the Vinperl water park, because... then everything was blocked and closed by the park and hotel construction before it. If you mark a point on the map and approach just to this construction site of a large hotel in front of the park, turn onto the paved road to the left (if you are coming from Zuon Dong), along which you can get to the beach not so far.

Approaching the beach, we saw on the right hand the landscaped territory of some hotel, and on the left there was no one, however, a little later, builders began to arrive, apparently from the same construction site, to swim and relax. Perhaps if you arrive there in the morning, there will be no one else there and you can sunbathe and swim as you please. The entry into the sea at the time of our arrival seemed very shallow, we had to walk further to swim, while there are trees on the shore, under which there is shade.

Bai Gan Dau (GanhDauBeach)

This beach is located in the upper part of the island on the northwestern coast, from the city of Duong Dong it is about 27-29 km away.

You drive along a straight road past a Vietnamese village and find yourself on this beach, it is quite small in size, there are many fishing boats, there is a cafe, but when we were there it was dirty, we didn’t stay on it, took a photo and left. From this beach you can see several islands of Cambodia, below in the photo you can see them in the distance. If you drive a little further, along the same road, you can see a Buddhist temple.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/HDdsMqRuZoK2

Bai Rush Vem (BaiRachVem)

This is one of the most popular distant beaches. It’s worth coming here to admire the beautiful starfish, of which there are quite a lot. Therefore, Starfish Beach has become a must-see during. And hundreds of tourists come every day by taxi and bike to see starfish. This is the second most famous beach on Fukuoka Island (right behind Bai Sao).

Coordinates of the beach with starfish in Fukuoka on the Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/PG5WDDXVL3U2

It’s just better to go to the left along the beach so that it’s clean, because... When we arrived, we saw where the cafes were, it was very dirty. And when we moved a little further away we were able to enjoy the stunning view of the sea, starfish, and palm trees.

Bai Thom

The drive to this beach is approximately 36 km. from the city of Duong Dong to the northeast of the island, although there is a cafe here, the beach itself seemed deserted. By the way, the Cambodian coast is also perfectly visible from here.

A great place to sunbathe in what your mother gave birth to and do all sorts of different pranks right in the shade under a palm tree. The main thing is not to forget to lie on a towel or blanket, remember about fleas, I think on a deserted beach they will be happy with your naked body. Closer to the right end of the beach, you can walk across the bridge to the nearest island to admire the wildlife.

Bai Khem (KhemBeach)

This beach is located on the southeastern side of Phu Quoc Island. On the larger area of this beach there is an expensive Mariot hotel, the minimum cost of a room per day will cost 27 -30 rubles. Security does not allow access to the beach through the hotel. Just now, in our chat about Fukuoka, they suggested that for a deposit of $25 you can calmly walk around the territory and along the beach. The deposit can be spent both in the bar and in the restaurant.

And if you want to get to the free part of the beach, you will have to leave the road and drive through the wild wilderness, but it’s worth it, you can sunbathe and swim to your heart’s content.

Beach coordinates on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/J5e4tmfEsaS2

And finally, the most beautiful sunset, of which there are an amazing variety and you can admire them almost every day during the warm season.

The high season begins in Fukuoka in November and ends in April. At this time in Russia it is sad - there is little sun, it is cold and windy. Those who have already been to the island dream of white sand beaches and magnificent tropical landscapes and wonderful hotels.

Vietnam has recently become a world tourism power. It has already been chosen by Russian tourists living beyond the Urals. Flights from the European part of Russia are not cheap, but even there they dream of an exotic tropical island.

For those who have not yet been to Fukuoka, we will tell you about the local delights, especially the magnificent beaches, not forgetting to mention their pros and cons, the quality of hotels, modern infrastructure, untouched tropics and other local wonders.

Phu Quoc Island, located in the Gulf of Thailand, next to the mainland coast of Vietnam, is today one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in Southeast Asia. This is a completely developed resort with a wild jungle where no one has ever been.

Both those who love noisy parties and those who like peace and solitude will find beaches here. Young people and parents with children will also enjoy the island. There are places for romantic meetings, communication with children and quiet contemplation of older people.

It will definitely be of interest to tourists who love wild tropics, untouched by human civilization, or who prefer a beach holiday. But a gigantic tourism industry is steadily encroaching on the island. Hurry up to visit Vietnam in Phu Quoc!

The most popular beaches in Fukuoka

This is the most well-groomed and comfortable beach, which is always popular among guests of the island. Along its shores there are the best beach bungalows and hotels. Other hotels are located far from the sea; you can get to them by bikes or taxis.

This is a clean place with a gently sloping shore, where it is very convenient to sunbathe and swim with children. It is important to remember that the sun is scorching here, gently setting over the edge of the sea. If you don't take sunscreen to the beach from the first day, you can get very sunburned.

The sun here is extremely hot, cannot be compared with either Crimea or Sochi. The first days it is better to hide from him in the shade of cafe awnings or under spreading palm trees. Sunset in the High Season on the island starts around 18:00 and can be very spectacular.

Long Beach (Long Beach) is located along the western coast of Fukuoka and is the most visited. Most tourists come on weekends and holidays. But even then, tourists may not be seen in the vast territory, because... The length of the beach is more than 15 km.

Long Beach has beige sand with large patches of fine white sand. Beach fleas live here; they are not dangerous for vacationers, but they are annoying. Hotel staff treat beach sand with special preparations.

You can rent a sun lounger on site for 100 Vietnamese dong for the whole day. If you are staying in a hotel located on the beach, you should not pay for beach equipment. The prices are reasonable, but compared to Cambodia it is a bit expensive.

Due to the large length of Long Beach, you can fully explore it and choose the best place to relax if you have a vehicle (bike, scooter or taxi). They can be rented on the island for quite reasonable money.

The northern part of this beach is known to Crimeans because here, near the Sanset Sonato hotel, the famous music festival “Kazantip - Episode” was held in 2017 on an excellent site built by the organizers.

The new buildings, decoration, and design of this project have today become another modern attraction of Phu Quoc Island. Everything is allowed to be photographed or filmed absolutely free.

It is located in the southern part of the island. You can get to Sao Beach by scooter or bike, renting them in the local capital. You should go strictly south for about 25 km. If you take a taxi, a kilometer costs 10,000 dong or 27 rubles.

The road leading to Bai Sao beach is of quite tolerable quality, and at the entrance to it a dirt road begins. Masks are sold on the road to protect your face if you are riding a bike or scooter, but it is much more comfortable to choose a taxi.

The beach has fine white sand and magnificent seascapes in the “Bounty” style, with large swings hanging on tropical palm trees. The beach is filled with vacationers, there are hotels here, there are sun loungers with people sunbathing on them.

Here you can see tourists from all over the world coming to Bai Sao Beach to see and capture its incredible beauty with a camera or video camera. A huge line of vacationers forms to take a selfie on the swing.

Thanks to the white sand covering the bottom near the shore, the sea seems perfectly clean and completely transparent, which is close to the truth. Swimming on Bai Sao Beach is a pleasure, although the sea is occasionally rough.

The downside of this beach is that it is poorly equipped and has only one cafe. There are no water, sports, or youth entertainment here, and there are no shops or souvenir shops either. But you need to visit here only for aesthetic pleasure.

Bai Sao Beach on Fukuoka is suitable for those who do not particularly need noise and entertainment, who want to hide from the whole world for a couple of weeks, immerse themselves in themselves and live in solitude, communicating with their closest and dearest people.

The beach is located on the western coast of the island. It is extremely similar in quality and popularity to Long Beach, but much smaller in size. The sand on the beach is white, like snow, and the water near the shore is crystal clear.

Bai Ong Lang is periodically interrupted, and then resumes along its length again. Between its parts there are piles of stones. It is always in a well-maintained condition; there are no piles of garbage left by tourists or floating from the sea.

The first place people go to Phu Quoc is for a beach holiday. Which Fukoka beaches are worth visiting? Which ones have infrastructure, and which ones are wild and unkempt? Which beaches are clean and which ones are a real dump. And most importantly, which beach is the best in Fukuoka. You will find answers to all these questions in our carefully compiled selection. As a bonus, I’ll tell you about the most terrible beaches on the island, where you shouldn’t go even out of curiosity.

Phu Quoc Island boasts 140 kilometers of beaches of varying degrees of cleanliness and service. We have prepared a review of the seven best beaches in Fukuoka, based on personal experience living on the island and reviews from tourists for 2017 - 2018. The beaches of Phu Quoc Island are characterized by smooth descent into the water and small waves, so they are ideal for relaxing with the whole family.

Long Beach Phu Quoc

This beach is the first to greet guests of the island, as it begins in the capital, the city of Duong Duong, and stretches south to the town of An Thoi. Long Beach fully lives up to its name: its length is 20 kilometers. A small rocky area divides it into two parts - South Long Beach and North Long Beach. The beach is very beautiful, with golden sand and a smooth entrance to the water. The area near hotels and resorts is being cleaned, so the condition of the coast is simply excellent.

Ong Lang Phu Quoc Beach

Ong Lang Beach in Phu Quoc is a popular and developed beach about two kilometers long with many resorts and cafes. The Ong Lang area is suitable for a relaxing holiday or long-term stay; bungalows and rooms are available for rent in the area. The sand on the beach is yellow, fine-grained, the water is clean, blue-green. Several places have rocky outcrops with rich underwater life that can be seen while snorkeling. Along the shore there are larches and palm trees, many weeping willows and poplars.

Khem beach Phu Quoc

Khem Beach, called Bai Khem, is another Phu Quoc beach with excellent sand and clear water that is not easy to get to. Khem Beach, with its perfect white sand, is known as one of the most beautiful places on the entire island, and is freely accessible only to guests of the luxury Marriott hotel. But you can get to the northern part of the beach, where there is free access to the water, as well as a small fishing village.

Bai Sao Phu Quoc Beach (Sao Beach Phu Quoc)

Bai Sao Beach is one of the three most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, and the top beaches in Southeast Asia. It is located on the east coast of Fukuoka in the southern part of the island. This respectable place seems to have come out of a picture about tropical bliss. An excellent location for a family holiday, relaxing in the shade of an umbrella and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening in the rays of the setting sun. The beach has fine white sand like flour, and the water is so clear that even at depth you can see everything that happens at the bottom.

Starfish beach Phu Quoc

Starfish beach (Starfish beach on Phu Quoc) is located in the north of the island about 20 kilometers from the capital of the island, Duong Duong. It is not easy to get to, but the impressions from your stay fully compensate for the difficult road. The beach has white fine sand and large shallows with a huge number of starfish on the bottom. Be sure to take a mask and snorkel with you; without them, it will be difficult to enjoy the animal world. The beach has several restaurants on stilts, plank buildings jut out far into the sea, and lunch overlooking the water can be a pleasant highlight of the day.

Vung Bau beach

Vung Bau Beach (Vũng Bầu, Vung Bau) is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc Island, north of Ong Lang Beach, 20 kilometers from the capital of the island, Duong Dong. This is a deserted wild beach, where you can sunbathe in what your mother gave birth to, and not be embarrassed by observers around. This freedom has a downside, in the form of a dirty shore, but the beach is long enough and finding a clean piece is not a problem.

Zai Phu Quoc beach (Vinperl beach, Bai Dai beach)

Bai Dai Beach, or “Dai Beach” to use Russian transcription, is located between Vung Bau Beach and Gandau Village on the west coast of Phu Kok. This beach delights visitors to the Vinperl resort. It is almost impossible to enter the territory from the resort, even despite the law of Vietnam. You can pretend to be a guest, but they have special hotel cards, and you can only hope for luck. Despite the routine, some part of the beach is open to everyone and you can have a great time here.

Anti-rating of beaches.

The dirtiest and smelliest beach on the island is, of course, Cua Canh. It is located near the village of the same name and there is nothing to do there. Dirty shore, heaps of garbage and broken boats. We don’t recommend going; it’s better to spend time on the beaches from our selection, so you will only leave a good impression of your holiday in Fukuoka.

In this article we will talk about the most interesting and popular beaches of Phu Quoc island. All beaches are magnificent in their own way and deserve to be seen. Which beach to choose when looking for accommodation.

The beaches of Phu Quoc Island are extensive and varied. There are magnificent wild places, there are popular beaches favored by tourists. Beaches with white and golden sand. With sand as crisp as snow underfoot. There are quiet coves, starfish and much more.

I want to start my story with the brightest and most controversial beach of the island. Everyone who flies to Phu Quoc knows about it. Almost every guest on the island has visited this beach at least once. But impressions of him are very varied.

Bai Sao

Fukuoka beaches, Bai Sao

Bai Sao Beach is located in the southeast of the island and faces the continent (while Long Beach faces the Gulf of Thailand). From Duon Dong the distance is approximately 30 km (about 30 minutes by car). In the high season (autumn-winter-spring) there are quite a lot of waves on Bai Sao, but perhaps this is the best place on the island for bounty-style photographs.

In the low season, the situation changes diametrically, while on Long Beach there is a higher chance of catching high and strong waves, on Bai Sao there is peace and quiet, which makes this beach the concentration of all vacationers. Plus, again, due to the change of seasons, tourist boats migrate there from the South Port in An Thoi.

Rach Vem

Fukuoka beaches, Rak Vem
Fukuoka Beaches, Starfish Beach

“Starfish Beach” is a more popular name for Rak Vem Beach among tourists. It is located on the side of the island that looks at Cambodia; from the beach you can even see the outlines of the continent! From the city of Duong Dong the distance is approximately 30 km, but already to the north of the island. The place itself is relatively wild, apart from several cafes at the ends of the piers with karaoke for locals (the food they serve, by the way, is not particularly fancy, but the prices are not too high). There are nuances that need to be taken into account when planning a trip to this beach.

  • Firstly, the fact that starfish are also alive and can easily move underwater closer or further from the shore. That is, in any case, you need to have a swimsuit with you in order to be ready to swim (or simply wade deeper into the water) to see the purpose of the visit. The number of stars also varies - from several dozen near the coast to hundreds deeper.
  • Secondly, there is a long road and, at the entrance to the beach, a gravel road.
  • Thirdly, lack of infrastructure. Don’t neglect small shops if you suddenly need to buy something, because they may no longer be available. This point also includes the lack of showers and decent toilets on the beach.
  • Fourthly, in the low season the water on the beach becomes cloudy, which makes it difficult to find stars and find good angles for photos.

Vung Bau

Beaches of Phu Quoc, Vung Bau

Once this beach strip, separated from Ong Lang Beach by a river flowing into the bay, was one of the most beautiful places on the island. Ideally clean water, a beautiful sandy bottom, the absence of hotels and restaurants - all this attracted those part of the tourists who longed for exoticism and merging with nature. But, unfortunately, all this was noticed by investors, with whose money several large resorts were built. In theory, you can visit Vung Bau on your own, for example, try to get to the beach through one of the resorts (we recommend Green Bay - it is closer to the center of the beach, accordingly, on the Bounty scale it reaches 9), but we do not guarantee the success of this venture .

Ong Lang

Beaches of Phu Quoc, Ong Lang

This beach is located about six kilometers north of Lighthouse, the conventional beginning of Long Beach. During high season, Ong Lang is praised for its cleaner water and less crowded beach. Around this place there are many hotels, resorts with villas and bungalows, but some vacationers complain about the isolation from the main island infrastructure and the abundance of cafes on the shore for locals (with garbage and karaoke), since the main evening and night entertainment has to be taken by taxi or bikes all the way to Long Beach. Ong Lang smoothly turns into Mango Bay. This place is also nice and peaceful, housing prices are higher here.

Long Beach

The main tourist artery of the island. On both sides of Long Beach there are all the most popular hotels, hostels, cafes, bars and restaurants in Fukuoka. The beach is not the cleanest, but in the high season there are no waves at all, in the evenings you can watch sunsets, and at night fishing ships are always visible on the horizon.

Beaches in the Southern Islands

Beaches of Fukuoka, Southern Islands

Soon there will be a story about the beaches that you can visit if you decide to ride the cable car or if you go on a boat trip. For now, it is worth noting that in the low season (summer), boats practically do not go to the Southern Islands due to high waves, and if they do, they make stops for snorkeling and swimming on the other side of the islands. Please take this into account if you do not want to be disappointed. To view tour offers on and click directly on the highlighted words.

Beach Episode

Fukuoka beaches, Episode Beach

Episode Beach is a small piece of Long Beach, but deserves special attention thanks to its surreal installations. These “figures in the water” that almost everyone who comes to the island dreams of seeing. They were erected for the annual music festival Epizode, on the territory of the Kosmos Hotel. If you want to try to find this beach yourself, you can use this name as a reference on maps. Rumor has it that entrance to Kosmos beach is now paid.

The beaches of Fukuoka are the main attraction of the island. There are really a lot of them in a relatively small area, and each one deserves attention: the huge Long Beach, the cozy Gan Dau, the much-advertised Sao Beach, and northern Thom Beach. Each of them is good in its own way, but we suggest choosing the best Fukuoka beach. Go!

Long Beach

As the name suggests, the beach is the longest on Phu Quoc Island. It is better equipped than others for a tourist holiday: the infrastructure is developed, it is not difficult to get there from the center of the island. The sand here is fine, yellow in color, and the water is clear.

Let's start from the northern part of the beach, which is located closer to the center of Duong Dong. The water here is not always clean, as there is a port nearby. The approach to the sea is also not particularly convenient: a concrete frame has been built here, which not only spoils photographs, but is also simply dangerous. In some places you can see huge rain drains that evoke an association with sewers. Needless to say, there is no need to swim here.

However, if you go towards the eastern part of the island, the sea will become cleaner and cleaner, since some sections of the beach belong to hotels located on the first coastline (HanoiHotel, SalindaResortPhuQuocIsland, FamianaResort&Spa). The private beaches of Phu Quoc (Vietnam) can be used by hotel guests, but the administration will not mind if you pass through their territory and choose a convenient place on the shore.

The central part of the beach is the most comfortable and quiet. The entry into the sea is smooth, which will please families with children.

The infrastructure is developed here, there is trash, but not a lot. Getting to the center of Long Beach is not at all difficult: you can take a taxi from the city center (about 45,000VND or $2) or walk. As for renting a sun lounger, this service will cost approximately 100,000 dong ($4.5). As a gift, they often give a towel and a drink.

In the central part of the beach you can have lunch in one of the cafes. Prices here are reasonable: dinner by the ocean will cost 230,000 – 450,000 VND ($10-20).

As for the southern section of the beach, the infrastructure here is less developed, but there are also significantly fewer people. However, lovers of a secluded holiday should hurry up, because now this beach area is being rapidly built up with hotels and tourist centers, so an influx of foreign guests is expected here in the coming years. The highlight of the southern part of Long Beach are the large rocks that make a great backdrop for photos.

The disadvantages of Long Beach include a large number of jellyfish and plankton (during their breeding season) that live in the sea. They are not dangerous, but not everyone enjoys meeting them.

As you can see, Long Beach is truly huge, and everyone will find their own piece of paradise here.

Bai Sao Beach

Many tourists call Bai Sao beach not only the best beach in Phu Quoc, but also in all of Vietnam. It is not difficult to find an explanation for this: the fine sand here is pearl-colored, the water is clear, and tall palm trees grow around the beach, which complement the picture of a paradise. Bai Sao Beach itself is not particularly long: you can walk around it in 20-30 minutes.

Since Bai Sao is located in the southeast of Phu Quoc, bad weather and, as a result, high waves are rare here. The most favorable months to visit are March, April, May.

As for swimming itself, the entry into the sea is shallow, and in order for an adult to swim, it is necessary to walk several tens of meters deep into the sea. But for families with children, this is a big plus: you can safely let your child go for a short walk along the coast.

However, there are also disadvantages. Bai Sao Beach in Phu Quoc is a popular vacation spot, so there is always garbage here, even in varying quantities. Unfortunately, both locals and tourists are not particularly careful and do not care about the cleanliness of the beach. Oddly enough, it is especially dirty here in the off-season (November-January), since the garbage comes from the coast of Cambodia. But during the high season, hotel workers monitor the cleanliness.

The right half of Bai Sao Beach is wilder and there is a higher chance of encountering litter. But the left one is intended for tourists, so today there are several cafes and restaurants here. Also, only on the left side of Bai Sao Beach on Phu Quoc Island you can rent a sun lounger. There is a toilet and shower.

Coordinates on the map: 10.046741, 104.035139.

How to get there: Sao Beach is located somewhat away from the main infrastructure of the island. You can get here by bike or car. Since the end of 2018, a “Hop on - Hop off” tourist bus has also been visiting Bai Sao.

On Lang

This is a small but very cozy and beautiful beach. It is located on the west coast of Fukuoka. Unlike other beaches on the island, the sea and coastal area here are really clean, and the entry into the sea is smooth. The sandy strip is quite narrow, but this disadvantage is compensated by the lack of people and a large number of coconut palms on the shore. The sand is yellow, mixed with small coral fragments.

Ong Lang beach has a well-developed infrastructure: there are hotels (La Casa, May Fair Valley), cafes and restaurants, massages and ATMs. A distinctive feature of this place is the opportunity to go scuba diving, because there is a clear sea and a rich aquatic world.

It is worth going here in March, April or May. We can say with confidence that this is the best beach according to tourist reviews.

Vung Bau Beach

The small beach in the north-west of the island is a strip of selected soft sand, stretching several kilometers to the north. Here, unlike most Phu Quoc beaches, there is no trash and the water is crystal clear. The entry into the water is smooth, and the sand is bright yellow.

The southern part of Vung Bao can be considered wild, since it is completely empty and lacks any infrastructure. In the north, things are a little better - there are a couple of cafes and hotels. There is an opportunity to lie in the shade of trees or in the sun - there is enough space.

Now the beach is not particularly popular, but construction of the first tourist facilities has already begun here.

Mui Ganh Dau

The beach is small and far from the cleanest. You can find it in the north of Fukuoka island, 28 km from the capital (marked on the map). The most convenient way to get here is by bike - during the trip you will see picturesque fishing villages, local residents and how they live their lives.

This beach is almost wild - there is only one restaurant and hotel, and there are always few people. The sand is fine, yellow, the water is cloudy. Entry into the water is smooth, but the strip of sand is narrow, and during high tides there is no place to even sit.

Mui Gan Zau is surrounded by forests and mountains, so there are rarely storms here, and bad weather avoids this place. The main advantage of the beach is the picturesque views.

Thom Beach

Located in the extreme northwest of Fukuoka. This is a very quiet and peaceful beach, surrounded by hazel thickets. You can get here along a dirt road by bike or car. There is practically no infrastructure, but there are still a couple of family hotels.

The sand on the beach is light yellow, and the sea is shallow, with noticeable low tides. Unlike the popular Bai Sao, there are very few people here, which means there is less garbage, but plastic bottles and bags are still found.

So far there are no large hotels on Thom Beach, but construction of a large tourist center is planned in the near future. Therefore, wildlife lovers should hurry up.

As you can see, the beaches of Fukuoka are really beautiful and good in their own way. If you want to relax your mind and body, consider this island as your next travel destination!
