Novy Svet: sights and interesting places (with photo). New World Crimea attractions: hotels and beaches Modern museums of the New World Crimea

Cozy New World is a small valley lost among the mountains, washed by three colorful bays. There is only one road leading here, seven kilometers of beautiful views and a very steep mountain serpentine. The small village is considered an elite resort, with corresponding prices, but here you can relax like a king.

Royal History of the New World

The New World owes its present to Prince Lev Golitsin, who was exiled to these lands. Inspired by the example of European winemakers, the prince considered the miniature valley, sandwiched on three sides by mountains and washed by the sea, a real paradise for growing a vineyard. He named his estate Paradise.

The enterprising prince planted vineyards on fertile soil, founded a champagne wine factory and ordered a bottle storage facility to be built in Mount Koba-Kaya, a wine library to be built in the grotto, and a path along the sea to be built for walks. In the center of the future village, he erected a manor.

The area was very beautiful, the land was fertile, but there was one problem in Paradise - the lack of water. The prince tried to solve this issue by installing a water supply from the source of St. Anastasia, located on Mount Sokol. The remains of the ancient aqueduct can still be seen today, but this project was unsuccessful.

The fame of the new fashionable resort, evening concerts in the grotto with wine tastings, spread throughout the country. Nobles came to visit Golitsyn; Chaliapin himself once sang in the grotto, later named in his honor. But the most eminent guest was the autocrat Nicholas II. The tsar toured the estates of the disgraced prince-winemaker, tasted the products, swam in a distant bay and was very pleased. The village was renamed Novy Svet in honor of the visit of the august person.

Sights of the New World

The miniature village is simply full of attractive places for tourists.

The main attractions of the New World:

  1. Lev Golitsyn's estate and museum.
  2. Factory of champagne wines "New World".
  3. Walking trail Golitsyn.
  4. Monument to Prince Golitsyn and Tsar Nicholas II.

This is a basic list of man-made attractions, but when choosing what to see in the New World, consider its natural beauty. The resort is generously endowed with subtropical vegetation, which has taken root well in the mild climate of the wind-protected valley. Mountains became the defenders of the village:

  • Karaul-Oba;
  • Koba-Kaya (Eagle);
  • Kush-Kaya (Falcon).

Trio of colorful bays

Three bays: Green, Blue and Golubaya are the most beautiful places in the New World.

Green Bay- the widest, there is a city equipped beach with sunbeds. The beach offers views of Capes Alchak and Meganom. And in the evening, from the pier near which the pleasure pirate schooner spends the night, the lights of neighboring Sudak are visible. The beautiful embankment of the New World is an attraction and entertainment in itself. The resort life of the village is in full swing here.

Blue Bay, once a haven for robbers and smugglers, is a narrow rocky beach under the Golitsyn Path, closed by Cape Kapchik. It’s nice to sit on the coastal strip in the evening, accompanied by a bottle of Crimean champagne, and look at the sea.

Blue Bay, in the waters of which the majestic Karaul-Oba and the side of Kapchik are reflected, known from films. Eremenko Jr. himself dived from a small rock called Turtle. The Tsar's Beach was a forbidden place for tourists; to get there you can walk along the paths of the Juniper Grove and go down the cliff. Or just come by boat.

After relaxing on the beach and tasting champagne, you can explore in more detail the other attractions of the New World and the surrounding area. For example, you can take a walk in the park or go to Sudak, stroll along the Golitsyn Trail or walk along the highway to the filming location of the film “Three Plus Two”.

Reviews

I love Crimea! I’ve been to all its amazing corners, but most of all the New World has sunk into my soul! I have so many memories associated with it. Very often I remember a walk along the Golitsyn trail. The views there are unreal, it’s a pity that it wasn’t there back then in 2010 more smartphones. What kind of “selfies” would they be?

    Answer

I love the New World! In 2009 and 2010, my husband and I were lucky enough to visit there. We were on vacation in Feodossia. And we were offered to go on an excursion to the New World. We didn't regret it at all! There is such beauty there! The water is clean. I saw my feet in the water! And how nice she is! And this is in the village itself, where there are many vacationers. I really enjoyed the hike along the Galitsin trail to Tsarskaya Bay. We walked through the juniper grove. And despite the fatigue, the impressions remained unforgettable. If I go to Crimea again, I want to stay there for a long vacation. If you rent a house at the beginning of the village, the view will be magnificent. It’s so beautiful and cozy there that I didn’t want to leave. And when we invited our friends with us the next year, they were just as wildly delighted as we were. I want to return there again and again. If you haven't been there, go, you won't regret it. In general, Crimea is my favorite place.

    Answer

After going on an excursion to a champagne wine factory and listening to the guide’s interesting stories about Prince Golitsyn, I really wanted to visit the famous Golitsyn trail. It’s a pity that the trail after the earthquake doesn’t look like it did in the time of the prince, but still the historical spirit and amazing beauty of these places are mesmerizing. You can’t help but think that famous people walked here and also admired the magnificent beauties of Crimea. We visited the Golitsyn trail in hot weather and did not take water with us, do not repeat our mistake and then the walk will not be so tiring.

    Answer

What about the “drink of the gods”? In the New World there is a champagne wine factory with the same name. We visited there on a tour; my husband had long dreamed of seeing the production process from start to finish. Very interesting and exciting. We tasted several types of champagne, especially liked the dry one. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name.

    Answer

Our trip to the New World became unforgettable. That day the sea was not very calm and walking along the Galitsyn path, watching the waves crashing against the rocks was breathtaking. Therefore, we walked along this path twice. We were at the very edge of Cape Kapchik and walked along the bay.

    Answer

I really enjoyed the excursion to the New World along the Golitsyn trail. It runs along the sea along a cliff and offers beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for everyone, since it is purely pedestrian, and you will have to walk a lot. And towards the end you have to climb the mountain, it ends in a juniper grove not far from the estate of Lev Golitsyn. Despite all the difficulties, the tour is worth it, as it covers almost all the sights of the New World.

    Answer

    1. We were also on the Golitsyn trail! The only thing you want to focus on is that you just need comfortable shoes. Since I wanted not to go down this very path, but to move down it - the stones were so polished by tourists. As for the rest - complete delight, even the rocky coast did not spoil the impressions - everything is so beautiful, especially the juniper grove and bays with azure water.

The museum is located at: urban settlement Novy Svet, st. Chaliapin, 11.
Opening hours: from 9.00 to 18.00 (operating hours may vary depending on the season)

For tasting

After you get a full understanding of the history of the plant, the extraordinary personality of Prince Golitsin and the cultivation of grapes in Crimea, it’s time to go on one of the wine tours to the plant itself, located nearby at Chaliapin, 1.

The cost of visiting depends on the chosen program and excursion wine tour, see the exact information on the official website of the museum: nsvet-crimea.ru .

Out of season, you should definitely call before your arrival to find out if the tour will be available and when. Well, during the season it’s sold out, so you can go with confidence.

Tour price starts from 400 rubles . There is also a company store where you can purchase the plant’s products at the most affordable prices.

I especially recommend doing this after tasting. Then you will definitely be sure that you did not make a mistake with your choice.

But we’ll talk about wine tours separately in more detail next time.

Churches in the New World

Church of St. Luke - erected in modern times, at the numerous requests of residents.

Previously, the church was located in one of the buildings of a champagne wine factory, and then, in 2006, the church of St. Luke Krymsky. The consecration of the new church took place only in 2012.

The temple contains an icon of St. Luke with a piece of relics, unique icon “The Last Supper” from the collection of Golitsyn’s own home church, bequeathed to the temple by his great-granddaughter.

Address: urban settlement Novy Svet, st. Golitsyn, 18.

Historical monuments of the resort

Historical monuments of the New World include:

Golitsyn's Grotto

A structure in the rock used by the prince as a wine storage. They say that in ancient times there were cave temples or monasteries here.

Well, in the time of the prince, the best varieties of intoxicating drink were stored here, a respectable audience gathered, for whom Chaliapin himself sang. Therefore, sometimes this grotto is also called Chaliapinsky.

To get to the grotto, you need to follow another historical landmark - the path of Prince Golitsyn.

Golitsyn trail

This wonderful route, carved on the rocky slopes of Eagle Mountain by order of the prince, for the arrival of Tsar Nicholas II, belongs to the protected areas of the New World.

The walk, which is more than 5 km long, passes both over rocky cliffs and along a juniper grove. Along the way, you will meet natural attractions, which I will write about below.

Entrance to the trail is free. But you can join the tour groups that are formed on the New World embankment.

The New World Nature Reserve is open to the public from 8.00 to 20.00

Parks in the New World

The village itself is surrounded by incredible landscapes - a combination of mountain landscapes with relict vegetation that fills everything around.

Despite this, in the very center of the village there is a city park for recreation and walks. It is equipped with neat paths, comfortable benches under sprawling trees, and lanterns.

Entertainment for children

For kids in the New World, apart from beach joys - inflatable towns, water slides, banana rides and other related attractions, there is no entertainment.

Excursions and explorations of the surrounding area

But here tourists have a place to turn around! Natural attractions are found at every step. True, this will require a lot of walking and you may need a detailed map or navigator:

Excursion or hiking to Mount Karaul-Oba

Former coral reef, about which there are legends and historical facts. Tauri tribes once lived here and fortifications were built Bosporan Kingdom .

When traveling to the top, you can choose one of two routes.

The first one will take you to these places: "staircase of brands" – hidden rock steps, more than 2500 years old, a juniper grove where thousand-year-old trees grow, "Valley of Paradise" , and will lead to the peak “space” and the top of the mountain.

On the second route, which is easier, you will pass through the “valley of hell”, cool off in the “refrigerator” crevice, and enjoy the view from the observation decks.

This area belongs to the reserve, there is an entrance fee 100 rubles .

Travel to Mount Sokol

Near the village there is another ancient reef - Mount Sokol, where both experienced climbers and active tourists love to climb; the route can be chosen according to the level of difficulty.

Here there is a spring with clean, mountain water, called the St. Anastasia.

It is near Mount Sokol that you can see "Devil's finger" - a sculpture created by nature, but, of course, has its own beautiful legend about its origin.

Exploring a unique cape

Cape Kapchik is also an ancient reef, but unlike the mountains, it extends in a narrow strip far into the sea. If you look at the cape from above, you can see the image of a dragon or lizard spreading its wings.

The cape is unique for its cave - a through eighty-meter grotto, the walls of which reach a height of 20 meters. On both sides of the cape are Blue and Golubaya bays.

Once upon a time this grotto was discovered by the same Prince Golitsyn, and even organized a holiday there in honor of his name day.

Sea and beach entertainment

In the New World, you will have the opportunity to visit Tsarsky Beach, bays with the clearest water in Crimea, and remote, inaccessible wild beaches. I wrote more about him.

Boat trips along the coast are also popular; pleasure boats, comfortable yachts, and just catamarans are at your service.

Diving, kayaking and surfing flourish here. And by boat you can get to the neighboring resort - the village Marine , where V. Tsoi once vacationed with his future team, and whose residents erected a monument to the Kino group there.

Friends, this concludes our review of the main attractions of the New World.

Your vacation here will be either active, educational and with a lot of beautiful photographs, or lazy, measured, with daily visits to legendary wine cellars - the choice is yours!

She told us which accommodation is best to choose, where to eat deliciously and inexpensively, what to do with the children and what to show them.

  • A relatively secluded place - due to the peculiarities of the geographical location and the absence of a transit road.
  • The presence of a relict juniper grove is a unique place for children’s health.
  • Very beautiful places, one of the most beautiful places in Crimea. It’s not for nothing that it was originally called Paradise or Paradise.
  • The filming location of the film "Treasure Island" is a reason to discuss with children and look for filming locations for various scenes.
  • Compact location - a small town, everything is nearby - a market, shops, high-rise buildings and the private sector.

Important: the road to the New World from Sudak is winding, mountainous. You must drive carefully, only in your own lane. Especially with children!

Accommodation options

Novy Svet is a small resort town, compactly located entirely in one bay. Here you can live near the coastline, in the center and near the bus station, in five-story buildings or in the private sector next to a juniper grove. Each of the places of residence has its own characteristics and advantages.

  • Accommodation near the beach- the most prestigious and expensive. Basically, these are apartments and private guest houses.
  • Accommodation near the station– a little further from the beach. There are guest houses and rented apartments. You have to walk up to 10 minutes to the sea. Easy and fast.
  • Apartments in the area of five-story buildings– the best option for an affordable price and a short distance to the beach. From here to the sea - 15-20 minutes on foot.

It’s not worth going by car - there are a lot of cars during the season, it’s difficult to park. In addition, the streets are narrow. Therefore, daily walks will provide tone and appetite.

Note: in addition to apartments, the so-called boathouses are rented here - a rebuilt garage is hidden under a beautiful name.

  • Private sector– this is the most remote and most affordable location option. This is the outskirts of the town. The travel time to the central beach is up to half an hour. However, there is an advantage - if you choose the private sector from the side of the juniper grove - then you can breathe in the pine aroma and go swimming in the reserve(the entrance is free). You can go down to the Royal Beach every day, where there are fewer people, and more impressions. Read more about this in the beach holiday section.

In the New World, you can find housing for every taste - from luxury apartments to living in a room. An interesting slogan on one of the gates of a private house - "housing for gentlemen and comrades for rent" - speaks the truth. You can find everything here. The town “lives” on tourists, so in the summer each homeowner rents out what he has - an apartment, a house, a room.

The hotels here are mostly small and private. There is not enough space to expand and build a large number of boarding houses. There is one large hotel - the 12-story hotel complex "New World". All others are smaller.

We chose an economy accommodation option - the private sector. Firstly, pricing policy was a determining factor. Secondly, I really wanted to live in close proximity to a juniper grove. And these are only rented rooms and guest houses in the private sector. But the grove is really nearby, outside the window of the room and behind the fence.

Decide the housing issue in advance. If you come and look for housing in fact, with children, difficulties may arise.

If you are planning a trip by car, check with the host about parking options for your car.

Food

In the immediate vicinity of the beach, along the coastline there is a huge number of different cafes and bars. Here you can order traditional potatoes with meat or hearty lagman. Prices vary depending on the location of the establishment. The closer to the beach, the more expensive.

Near the bus station there is canteen called USSR. It has more budget prices and a traditional canteen interior. In general - accessible, but not very beautiful.

Our choice is self-catering. Products are purchased in the store - there are a lot of them. Vegetables and fruits are better in street stalls and in the market.

On a note: you can go by car to Sudak - it’s only 8 km, and buy vegetables and fruits at the market for almost 2 times cheaper than in the New World. Or make these purchases on the way to the New World, if you are driving your own car.

Having a kitchen is a special advantage for families with children. You can cook what you need, in the quantity that the children need. Taking into account all the “I want” and “I don’t want”. However, there is also a minus - mom’s time is periodically occupied with cooking.

Beach

Central Beach New World - small pebbles and sand. The bottom is flat, very comfortable for children. Since the sun is very hot during the day, we went to the beach in the morning and afternoon. At noon, we moved to the juniper grove.

I would like to say a special word about swimming in a storm. Children love to jump on the waves. Here, in the New World, it is possible and safe. The water does not pull large boulders - they are not here. The waves come in soft crests - the bay is small and huge waves do not enter here. It’s a truly mesmerizing sight when a mass of vacationers in the sea jump in a single impulse over the moving crests of the waves.

In addition to the central beach, there are other swimming options in the New World. Eg - Royal Beach. However, you need to go to it, go down, and then go up. Therefore, getting there on foot with kids is not always comfortable. But you can sail from the New World by boat or boat.

Due to the nature of our residence and the fairly old age of the children, we often headed to Tsarsky Beach. This is a special place. The beach is very small pebbles, almost sand. The purest clear water. Very beautiful picturesque stones. Relatively small number of people.

The only drawback of Tsarskoye Beach is that in July and August, when there are a lot of vacationers, the number of boats in Tsarskoye Bay increases. You can often hear the roar of their engines and the smell of gasoline.

Another option for swimming is Cape Dolphin or Cave. There is a special romance and purity here. But the swimming area is only suitable for older children if they know how to swim. Along the gentle rocks here you can go down to the water, jump into the sea and swim to a small rocky island.

Leisure and entertainment for children

The main leisure of the New World is pedestrian walks along the Golitsyn trail, trips to Cape Kapchik (Peshcherny) and Cape Rhino. Here is a sea of impressions and reasons to remember the lessons of history. At Cape Rhinoceros - Scythian stairs and a chic observation deck. On the Golitsin trail - yes grotto with the same name, paths carved into the rocks. We also climbed Mount Sokol- next to the New World.

The entrance to the Golitsin trail from the central beach is located on the right side. It's free.

I would like to say a special word about cinematography. Famous filmed here children's film "Treasure Island". For a long time, from different points, we looked for filming points for the film, the location of the fort, the place where Ben Gan's boat berthed.

Also in the New World there are various marine entertainments. You can rent a kayak, ride a banana, go diving with divers - they take school-age children. With kids - you can sail on a boat or sightseeing boat from the New World to the Tsar's Bay and back.

If you have not yet chosen where you will live and want to save money when booking, we recommend using the RoomGuru service. Firstly, there are hotels, apartments and guest houses from many different booking systems, and you will not miss a worthwhile option. Secondly, you can immediately compare prices for one place in different services and book where it is cheaper (not always this is Booking!).

The urban-type settlement of Novy Svet, located in the southeast of the Crimean peninsula, not far from the urban district of Sudak, has a rich history. This is the most beautiful place in the Crimea, which is constantly visited by numerous tourists. On the territory of the New World there are a large number of departmental sanatoriums, recreation centers, where vacationers are constantly received.

Local residents are very proud of the history of the Novyi Svet village and show local sights to tourists. They offer various entertainment through travel agencies, and travelers choose where to go to see interesting places.

Features of the mountain landscape of the sea coast

The unique nature in Crimea is diverse and rich. In the south of the peninsula, relict plants that grew back in the Cenozoic era have been preserved. In the vicinity of the New World, ancient junipers and Stankevich pines grow. Unique plants grow here that the ancient glacier, which stopped its movement near this place, could not destroy.

The attractions of the village of Novy Svet include ancient coral reefs covered with vegetation. They form low mountains of bizarre shapes on the coast of the Crimean peninsula, reminiscent of various animals in their outlines. Local hills hide many grottoes, caves, ponds, and form bays on the coast with exotic names.

Mountain formations surprise travelers with incredibly beautiful landscapes. Anyone who is not afraid of heights and loves strong winds can climb to the top of the hill and see a landscape of extraordinary beauty from a bird's eye view. On the way to their destination, travelers encounter rare plants, large birds and various representatives of the local fauna.

On the territory of the village there is Mount Sokol. This is the largest coral reef on the Crimean peninsula. If you climb to its top, where there is an observation deck, you can see Sudak, the ancient Genoese fortress and all the bays of the Novy Svet village.

At this local landmark there is the Nastasinsky spring, the water of which was also used in ancient times. Near the reservoir you can find the remains of an ancient road connecting two Byzantine monasteries, the ruins of which can still be discerned by an experienced archaeologist. The road is reinforced with hand-made retaining walls. Along it you can see pipes - this is a water supply system that delivered water for watering the vineyards in the 19th century.

Mount Orel, located on the territory of the New World, limiting the Blue Bay on one side, hides many kilometers of adits in its bowels. This mountain belongs to a protected area and entry to it is prohibited. Many tourists ignore the ban and get to the observation deck to look from above at the Blue Bay and Cape Kapchik, located on the other side of the bay. The village of Novy Svet is clearly visible here, the noise of cars, the voices of people talking loudly are perfectly audible.

The sights of the village of Novy Svet include Cape Kapchik. There is a hiking trail along it, allowing you to take long mountain walks. The cape extends far into the sea, dividing two picturesque bays, which are united by a through passage formed inside the ancient formation. The passage was called the Through Grotto, and tourists love to see this miracle of nature. This cave, formed during an earthquake, was ennobled at the end of the 19th century. Local winemaker Prince Golitsyn equipped the entrance to it, installed doors, and arranged stairs for convenient descent to the water.

The entrance to the cave is blocked by a forged lattice. Visitors can only view the grotto from the outside because it is life-threatening for people inside. The long passage is inhabited by a huge colony of bats, and collapses occur in the cave. Speleologists claim that inside this amazing cape there are seven more caves and a salt lake.

Where do tourists have fun?

Tourists who have explored all the surroundings of the New World can find entertainment in the village. They visit park areas adjacent to boarding houses located in the district. All holiday homes have well-groomed areas planted with shrubs and flowers of extraordinary beauty. Access there is open to everyone.

The guides show as a landmark the Variety Grotto, in which Prince Golitsyn held musical evenings. Its walls have good acoustics, and the singer’s voice was clearly audible, which was important in the days of chamber singing. In the grotto, visitors are shown stone arches that once served as storage facilities.

Those wishing to learn about Golitsyn’s life can visit the history museum located on his estate. This man spent a lot of time and effort creating beautiful places to relax in this area.

The picturesque bays of Crimea with grottoes and sandy beaches attract a large number of vacationers. The attractions of the village of Novy Svet include colored bays. Green Bay, so named for the emerald color of the water, once served as a port for merchant ships. This part of the village is the most landscaped for a comfortable stay by the water. On the beach there are rental points for catamarans and other accessories for outdoor activities at sea. Here you can book a walk around the bay, sunbathe and swim.

The beach line turns into a beautifully designed embankment, built in the New World for vacationers. This part of the coast is built up with restaurants, cafes and souvenir stalls. The embankment area is equipped with recreation areas and flower beds with exotic plants that grow only in the south of the Crimean peninsula.

For lovers of scuba diving and a relaxing holiday, Blue Bay is suitable.

In the people it is called the Robber. There are many grottoes here, and several sunken ships lie at the bottom. Legends mention this place as a haven for pirates.

Filmmakers love this bay. Many famous films were shot on its shores, the action of which takes place on the Crimean peninsula or the sea coast of a conventional country.

Blue Bay has a second name. It is called Tsarskaya because the last Russian tsar rested in this place. It is closed for swimming because the edge of the shore is very narrow and there is always a danger of a collapse.

What else can you see

The sights of the New World are not limited to this. These include the ancient ruins of a fortress and a monastery. Their remains have been almost erased from the face of the earth by time, but upon closer examination one can see the approximate location of the buildings.

Not far from the village there is an ancient road with a narrow passage in the mountains called the Iron Gate. Here the ancient inhabitants defended their village from the invasion of enemies. The peaks of nearby mountains allow you to examine in detail the surroundings and sights of the New World, which was once important for people sitting on patrol.

For anyone who is bored of being in a resort village, you can visit Sudak for fun. There tourists visiting the Genoese fortress. This is the main attraction of the city. The city was built up after Crimea joined the Russian Empire, and there are many architectural monuments of the Classical era, which is also interesting to see for general development.

The attractions of the city also include places for entertainment for vacationers. The city has a huge water park, which is called the best on the Crimean peninsula. Numerous sandy beaches, well equipped with areas for sunbathing and active recreation, attract crowds during the swimming season.

Buses leave from the village of Novy Svet to any major city located on the Crimean peninsula. For tourists vacationing at the boarding house, they offer a large number of excursions that allow them to see all the sights available throughout the Crimean Peninsula.

Many people choose a vacation in Crimea for their summer vacation. If you are thinking about where to go on the Crimean Peninsula, then, without a doubt, give your preference to the village of Novy Svet. In addition to the cleanest sea, gentle sun and beautiful landscapes, many interesting excursions await you here. Have you decided? Now let's find out more about the sights of the New World in Crimea.

Falcon Trail

One of the most visited places is the Golitsyn trail in the New World. Crimea, of course, can boast not only of this wonderful place. But this does not change its significance. The mountain trail is located in the Green Bay of Crimea. The path runs along the Blue Bay, through Cape Kapchik and ends in the Golitsyn Grotto.

The history of the trail dates back to 1912. In honor of the arrival of Emperor Nicholas II and his family, by order of Prince Golitsyn, they cut a path to the top of the mountain, which offers a magnificent view. They say that the king, impressed by what he saw, named the village New World, and from then on the path was named in honor of the prince.

Beaches

It would seem that this is an integral attribute of every resort town, and they cannot in any way be attractions. But this does not apply to the beaches of the New World. One proof of this is Tsarsky Beach. It is located on the territory of the New World reserve in Crimea, and now anyone can get here. A couple of years ago it was closed in order to preserve nature. The name of this beach, like the entire village, is associated with the visit of the emperor.

This New World beach is more like a wild coast. There are no sun loungers or other equipment, coastal cafes or other attributes of a crowded beach. But doesn't that make him even more attractive? Black-gray soft sand, a gorgeous view of the sea and the cries of flying seagulls - what could be better? Now it’s clear why it is considered one of the attractions of the New World in Crimea.

The only disadvantage of this wonderful beach, although to some, on the contrary, this may seem like an advantage, is its inaccessibility. The passage to it is not very easy. You will need to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. But believe me, it's worth it. By the way, you can get here not only on foot, but also by boat.

Falcon

Mount Kush-Kaya, or Falcon, is the largest and oldest coral reef in Europe. Once upon a time, the peak, rising almost half a kilometer above the water, was the seabed. Much of the mountain is steep, dangerous even for the most experienced climbers. Special routes have been laid out here for extreme sports enthusiasts. from 1st to 6th difficulty category. Conquerors of peaks will be able to climb the mountain on foot.

Kutlat fortress

The structure, dating back to the 1st century BC, is not often mentioned in guidebooks to the New World. Archaeologists found it relatively recently - in 1982. As a result of research, we learned that the fortress belonged to the Bosporan kingdom and served to fight pirates.

Guard-Oba

This mountain is located near Cape Kapchik and Blue Bay. At the top, archaeologists discovered Bronze Age settlements and household items of that time. In the western part, remains of the fortifications of the Bosporan kingdom have been preserved. Here, according to scientists, there used to be a guard post.

Lutheran Church

Since 1805, there was a German colony of settlers in Sudak. By order of Empress Catherine II, foreign colonists arrived here to occupy the lands of the Crimean Tatars who had moved to Turkey. The church was built in 1887. In August 1941, residents of the colony were deported. In the USSR, the church building was used for a cinema and a club. Now Baptist services are held here, and there is also an exhibition of the Genoese fortress.

Around the church you can see a large number of historical monuments from different times. One of them is a temple of 10-12 centuries. A little further there is a small lapidarium with tombstones of prominent people of Sudak. They were brought here from a pre-revolutionary cemetery located on the site of the current clinic.

Juniper Grove

Perhaps the most beautiful place in the entire New World is the botanical reserve. Here you can see a wide variety of medicinal plants and rare animal species. This place is called the Valley of Paradise. To get to the juniper grove, you need to climb the Taurus staircase, cut into the rock more than 3 thousand years ago. Here you will see incredible trees, somewhat similar to pine trees - relict tree-like junipers. Centuries-old examples of downy and sessile oak, maple, ash and pistachio trees also grow here.

The air is saturated with juniper, pine and herbs. You can feel this especially well in the hot summer. Breathing this air is very beneficial.

The New World Botanical Reserve is a place of incredible beauty. It attracts local residents, tourists, photographers, artists and poets. And of course, they couldn’t help but film a couple of films in this wonderful place. Reviews about holidays in this place can only be found positive. Travelers are happy to return here again.

Champagne

Perhaps the most important and most interesting attraction for tourists in the New World in Crimea can be considered a champagne wine factory. It was founded in 1878 by Prince Lev Golitsyn. He began work by growing vineyards and creating cellars. Tunnels for storing wines were dug by hand in the Koba Kaya mountain at different levels for each variety. The prince's main goal was to create champagne that could compete with the best representatives of France. After 10 years of hard work, the Paradise and New World champagnes were presented to the world. Due to their excellent taste, these drinks received the highest award at the World Exhibition in Paris.

Since the opening of the New World sparkling wine factory in Crimea, production technology has not changed. Each bottle of champagne is aged by hand. At least three years must pass before you can taste this wonderful drink. For the second century, only exquisite grape varieties have been used to prepare it: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Franc and Aligote. It is grown in the vicinity of Sudak.

To ensure that the champagne turns out truly exquisite, every detail is taken care of. Grapes are harvested only in dry weather, so that dew does not accidentally fall on them. Each variety is collected separately from the others. Then the fruits are carefully sorted. If even the slightest damage is noticed, the bunch is immediately eliminated. The harvest is delivered to the plant in special containers that protect the grapes from contamination or damage.

Here, the best wine materials in Crimea are carefully processed: filtered, clarified and blended. Next, experienced winemakers create a batch mixture that is bottled.

It usually takes 3 years to make champagne. Its uniqueness lies in the aging method - alcohol fermentation. It is carried out in a hermetically sealed container for 2 months. Most of these enterprises greatly simplify this process - they infuse the drink for no more than 3 weeks.

This landmark of the New World in Crimea produces two million bottles annually. Everyone will find champagne for every taste and color. You can also take part in a wine tasting when visiting the Novy Svet plant in Crimea. Reviews from tourists speak for themselves. Everyone should try this champagne.
