Kerch bridge to the Crimea: state and progress of construction. Crimean bridge: all about the construction of the XXI century in the Crimea

So far, you can get to Crimea by ferry crossing, where, due to the large flow of tourists, a very difficult situation has developed. During the holiday season, about 2 thousand cars accumulate at the crossing, which have to wait for their turn for days.

In order to choose the most optimal option for laying the bridge, 74 options were analyzed. The potential intensity of road and rail transport, construction costs, and the feasibility of building tunnel crossings were taken into account.

The most probable experts immediately called the "Tuzla alignment", since it was this route of the Kerch bridge that was initially shorter than the others by 10-15 km. However, its main advantage is its remoteness from the Kerch ferry crossing and intensive shipping.

This option also makes it possible to use the Tuzla Spit, 750 meters wide. It is proposed to lay a road and a railway along it, which will reduce the number of bridge crossings by 6.5 km, which means that the labor intensity and cost of construction will decrease significantly.

The first bridge, 1.4 km long, will run from the Taman Peninsula to Tuzla Island, and the second, 6.1 km long, is designed to connect Tuzla with the Kerch Peninsula. The total length of the bridge will be about 19 km.

On the Crimean coast, a highway will be laid to the M-17 highway 8 km long and a railway 17.8 km long to the station. Bagerovo, through which the railway of republican significance passes. In the Krasnodar Territory, a 41-km highway to the M-25 road and a 42-km railway to the Vyshesteblievskaya intermediate station on the Caucasus-Crimea railway are being designed.

Few people know, but the railway bridge across the Kerch Strait was already built once. More than fifty years ago, when the Germans still hoped to gain complete power over all of Eurasia, Hitler had a blue dream - to connect Germany with the countries of the Persian Gulf through the Kerch Strait by rail. During the occupation of the peninsula by fascist troops, steel structures were brought to Crimea to build a bridge. Work began in the spring of 1944, after the liberation of the Crimean peninsula from the Nazi invaders.

On November 3, 1944, railway traffic was opened on the bridge. However, after three months the bridge supports were destroyed by ice. Having lost its strategic importance, the bridge was dismantled and replaced by a ferry crossing. However, regardless of such a seemingly primitive design, the construction of a bridge of such length on the sea strait in wartime is a historical event and a technical achievement.

The new Kerch bridge is supposed to be made two-level, since it should include railway tracks and a highway. At the same time, on some sections of the bridge, trains will move in parallel with cars, and on others they will pass above or below them.

— is in full swing. Work at once on eight sites. The main outlines of the future bridge across the Kerch Strait are already visible from space. So far, construction is being carried out in full compliance with the schedule. By the end of 2018, the automobile part of the bridge should be launched, and a year later the railway will open. The total length of the Kerch transport crossing will be 19 kilometers.

Another equally important infrastructure project for Crimea is the construction of a new one, which will become a continuation of the Kerch bridge and will go deep into the peninsula. The length of the future "Tavrida" will be about 300 kilometers. The route will be of the first category, four-lane - two in both directions - and will run along the route Kerch - Feodosia - Belogorsk - Simferopol - Bakhchisaray - Sevastopol.

Now "Tavrida" is an old, in some places almost broken road. And if the new route does not work simultaneously with the Kerch Bridge, then the bottleneck effect is guaranteed. All efforts to build the bridge will go down the drain, the crossing will simply get up.

The government confirmed: the money will be. The schedule is also announced: until March 2017 - design and survey, then, according to the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, in 2018 they will launch two lanes of "Tavrida" - one in both directions - and by 2020 they will complete more.

The construction of the Kerch bridge and the Tavrida highway is under the special control of President Putin. Sergei Aksyonov assures: "All the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation will be completed on time."

Houses located in the zone and the highway "Tavrida", the Crimean authorities. Crimeans will start moving into new apartments already in December. Some new settlers have already seen their future housing and were satisfied.

In a barn built with his own hands - smoke, ducks and 12 cows. Small farm for a big family. In one of the houses on the outskirts of Kerch, the Lokhmatov family has been living for more than twenty years. Where in the Soviet years there were barracks for the garrison of the Kerch fortress, there are real barracks without gas, water and toilets. Of all the amenities - only electricity. Lyudmila and her husband did everything here themselves - in fact, they rebuilt the whole house. Conducted water and sewerage. They added rooms for four children. And so many people live here.

The beginning of the construction of the Crimean bridge, which can be observed here from virtually every window, radically changed the lives of almost 80 families. Residents of Cementnaya Slobidka - this is the name of this area of Kerch - will soon move to a new house. The old one is included in the sanitary protection zone of the bridge and is subject to demolition. This is the last autumn when you have to warm up the apartment with firewood or coal. Heating in these houses is still stove.

The walls are cracked, the roof almost collapsed. They had been planning to relocate people from these houses for a long time, but there was simply no money for this in the city budget. Now the residents of the cement settlement are waiting for big changes.

Lyubov Yakovlevna and her grandson Timur are ready to move. They have already collected almost everything - dishes in boxes, summer things in bags, carpets rolled up. Living in a house that has never been overhauled is simply unbearable. Housewarming will be celebrated in December.

For residents of Cementnaya Slobidka, a whole microdistrict is being built almost in the center of Kerch. All stages of the construction of the residential complex are monitored by the Public Council of the Crimean Bridge. This issue is also under the personal control of the head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov.

“There will be contact with people,” Aksyonov assured. “They will take into account wishes for finishing, no one will leave anyone. We tried to delve into the details that worried everyone as much as possible. Reputational issue.

“The difference between what they had and what they will have is big. This is modern housing. Everything is gasified, the area has the appropriate infrastructure,” said Nikolai Dolgachev, chairman of the Public Council of the Crimean Bridge.

The new residential complex consists of two three-story houses with autonomous heating. The foundations are already ready, the walls are being erected, all engineering communications are connected. According to the plan, there will be a children's playground and a sports ground. A stone's throw from the house - a school and a kindergarten - something that the residents of Cement Sloboda lacked so much.

The Crimean Bridge is also being built at an accelerated pace, in some places even ahead of schedule. From the observation deck, the construction site is at a glance. Despite the gusty wind and storm, the work does not stop even for a minute.

The largest and most complex part of the Crimean Bridge is the navigable arch. Now it looks like a huge metal constructor. Arched spans are assembled in this way - in stages. First, the bottom parts. It is on them that cars and trains will go. The length of the arch will be 227 meters - more than two football fields. Such a long span over the sea area is created for the first time in the history of domestic bridge building.

Details with jewelry precision are assembled into blocks. Each bolt, and more than a million of them are needed for navigable spans, is tightened by the builders by hand. Already under the finished arch, any ships from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov and back will be able to freely pass.

And on the island of Tuzla, builders concreted the first slab of the roadway. This is the basis of the future roadbed. The spans will be asphalted at the same time when all the slabs are concreted. The bridge will open to traffic in two years.

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his visit to the Krasnodar Territory and the Crimea, visited the construction site for the construction of the automobile part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, the construction of which began two years ago.

According to the construction schedule, the facility should be commissioned in December 2018 - these terms have also been repeatedly called by the country's leadership. But in a recent address to the Federal Assembly, Putin mentioned that the strategic facility could be put into operation much ahead of schedule.

On Wednesday, during a visit to the construction site, this was confirmed.

The President arrived from the Krasnodar Territory and by bus got to the largest span of the bridge - the arched one. This is the only place where ships can pass under the structure.

The deputy general director of Stroygazmontazh, Leonid Ryzhenkin, showed the object to the president. “There are participants here who have been from the very beginning of construction: Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod, and Central Russia – everyone who has been involved since the beginning of construction,” the president’s press service quotes him.

“Are there specialists from all over the country? Interesting object, powerful. And everything works out for you, even ahead of schedule, as far as I understand,” the president replied. - I would like, of course, that people could use it in the summer season. Although access roads are still needed, the road workers must do their job properly.”

“Just a unique building not only for our country, but I think there are few analogues in the world.

I was now told how it was necessary to meet these 72 hours in order to put the anchor in its place. Hard work. I congratulate you on this milestone. I hope that everything will be brought to the end, as expected, on time and, perhaps, even ahead of schedule and with high quality. Hello, just great guys! I would like to wish you success,” the head of state added.

He asked the builders whether it is now possible to drive along this route from coast to coast, to which he received an affirmative answer.

“It remains only to equip, as I understand it, the road, to equip the markings, to lay asphalt concrete. This is no longer the most difficult job,” Putin added.

Responding to a remark by one of the builders who was still building the Baikal-Amur Mainline,

Putin noted that the construction of a bridge to the Crimea was thought about even in tsarist times.

“We started, we were already preparing for design work, but the First World War did not make it possible to implement it. Then in the 1930s they tried to do it - they also failed. And later tried - nothing worked. And you did it. This is cool. I congratulate you. I hope there will still be an opportunity to congratulate you on the completion of the entire complex, but what has been done is already impressive,” the president summed up, adding that he would try to personally come to the official opening of the bridge.

Already after the president's visit to the bridge, answering a question from journalists about the timing of the opening, the head of the general contractor for the construction of the Stroygazmontazh company, Arkady Rotenberg, said that this would happen after May 9. He did not specify the exact date.

Recall that the bridge across the Kerch Strait, also called the Crimean, will indeed become the longest in Europe, its length will be 19 kilometers. The capacity is 40 thousand cars and 47 pairs of trains per day, 14 million passengers and 13 million tons of cargo per year.

In parallel, the automobile and railway parts are being built, the opening of the latter for train traffic is scheduled for early 2019. The bridge starts on the Taman Peninsula, passes along a five-kilometer dam and Tuzla Island, crosses the Kerch Strait and comes to the coast of Crimea.

In the coming years, the Tavrida highway will be laid from the bridge, which will allow motorists to quickly get from the strait to Simferopol and Sevastopol.

After visiting the bridge across the strait, Vladimir Putin went to Simferopol airport, where work is underway to build a new terminal. The president also plans to visit Sevastopol, where he plans to attend a large-scale rally-concert in honor of the next anniversary of the annexation of the peninsula to Russia.

Almost 3 years have passed since the Crimean bridge across the Kerch Strait received its first contractor, which is almost a record time for such activities. In March 2018, the President of Russia said that the opening of the bridge could happen ahead of schedule, in connection with which many questions arose - is this true and what will the early commissioning of the facility affect?

In fact…

It should be taken into account that there were talks about building a bridge between Crimea and the Taman Peninsula back in the days of peaceful relations between Russia and Ukraine, and the first thoughts about this arose back in 2008. At that time, residents of both countries were already waiting for the bridge to Crimea to be opened. After that, Russia included this project in the list of transport strategies for the period up to 2030. Initially, negotiations were held at the level of prime ministers, then the presidents of the countries returned to the discussion, and in 2013 documents were signed on the start of joint actions to organize this project.

Despite the fact that politics and military actions on the territory of Ukraine prevented the countries from cooperating jointly, Russia, after uniting with Crimea, decided not to shelve the construction of the bridge, so already in 2014, President Vladimir Putin gave the appropriate orders. Thus, when a bridge to Crimea is built, several acute issues will be resolved at once, for example, the security of Crimeans, the ease of migration of citizens without the difficulties of crossing the Ukrainian border, etc.

bridge feature

Do not forget that the project has not only a short time frame, but also a very complex creation system. The peculiarities of the development of the flora and fauna of that area were taken into account, advanced technologies were used, consultations were held with a hundred specialists, and about 13 thousand workers were hired. Such a colossal construction of a bridge was implemented in our country for the first time, so the whole of Russia is looking forward to building a bridge to the Crimea.

Of course, along with speed, quality has become a priority. Since the structure will immediately be subject to a transport load not only in the form of a motorway, but also railways. The length of the bridge to Crimea is 18.1 kilometers for a two-lane railway and 16.9 kilometers for a four-lane road.

The design was created taking into account all the negative situations of a natural and man-made nature, therefore it has an increased degree of stability, protection from a storm, heavy ice drift, and can also withstand seismic vibrations up to nine points. The largest storm water treatment system in the country was created. That is, when the bridge to the Crimea is built, no waste from it has been released into the water and will not be released. The structure itself has been subjected to modern anti-corrosion treatment.

well forgotten old

It is hard to imagine that the Kerch Bridge was planned to be built 10 years ago, by combining the efforts of the friendly countries of Ukraine and Russia. However, the plan to connect the Crimean peninsula with the southern part of Russia by transport was proposed by the British. The enterprising government of England seemed to be a good option for building a railway to India just through the Kerch Strait. Then Nicholas II became interested in this project, and even seriously considered it, but the war prevented further plans.

Actually, all this suggests that the Crimean bridge is a great idea. Interestingly, the length of the bridge to the Crimea is longer than the strait itself. Thanks to this, several trading ports will be connected at once. Perhaps, the concept of “every cloud has a silver lining” is applicable here, since it is not known how the fate of the project would have developed if the president had not decided to make the construction of the bridge the main direction of transport development for the next few years.

When will the bridge be built across the strait?

At the beginning of 2018, we can confidently say that the bridge is ready. The final stages of the design of the route and the railway remained. The correct alignment of forces, functionality and tasks allowed contractors not only to meet the stated deadlines, but also to be ahead of schedules. This was first reported at the end of 2017. In a word, the bridge itself is already ready for the upcoming loads and is waiting for the final preparations before testing and operation. Most of the systems have been verified through natural exposure and testing. The progress of the construction of the bridge to the Crimea began to accelerate before the finish line.

Early Surrender News

In early March 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that a part of the road bridge to Crimea would be opened in a few months. What specific dates the head of state spoke about is not specified. The fact is that the opening of the road for vehicles is already planned in December 2018, but it is likely that this will happen even in the summer. However, as the head of the Ministry of Transport Maxim Sokolov told the media, it is too early to make forecasts in favor of fixed dates. Unfavorable periods associated with the vagaries of nature must pass. As a rule, they last until the end of March, after which an analysis will be made of when exactly the bridge to the Crimea will be opened.

Russian opinion

All in the same media and social networks, the inhabitants of the country are ambiguous about such news. Indeed, Russians feel joy and pride as they observe a construction site of historic proportions. For many, the Kerch Bridge will be a long-awaited event in the development of the country over the years. However, Russian residents are worried about the quality of construction and do not think that it is worth rushing and putting the object into operation ahead of schedule. We will wait, do not rush - this is the general mood of the citizens of our country. Indeed, everyone appreciated the incredible work done by both the head of state himself and the construction teams, and when the bridge to the Crimea is opened - in winter or summer, is not so important for the majority.

Major event

However, at the moment there are actual and specific dates that the whole country is guided by. They were declared from the very beginning and practically did not change, which, of course, indicates a good calculation. Thus, the Crimean bridge across the Kerch Strait will be commissioned by the end of 2019. The official date for the opening of road traffic is December 2018 (according to some sources, it was moved to May), and the railway lines will open a year later - in December 2019.

It is expected that local residents will arrange a celebration along the entire length of the bridge to the Crimea (as far as possible), and the President of the Russian Federation will also take part in the opening. Indeed, this will be one of the most important events in the recent history of Russia, it is nice that we have the opportunity to observe such a development of the state. It makes no sense to count how much money was spent, but imagine how many nights, effort, human labor were spent. The knowledge that the whole country is waiting for this bridge encourages 13,000 workers to continue to work hard. Perhaps when the bridge to the Crimea is finally built, the political situation will change.

According to him, the development of the transport system of Crimea and Sevastopol is the most important direction of the federal target program. In addition to the construction of the bridge, it is planned to reconstruct roads, the amount of funding is 112 billion rubles. First of all, it is planned to reconstruct the road Kerch - Belogorsk - Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Sevastopol. It also provides for the development of air transportation serviced by Simferopol and Belbek airports.

The construction of approaches to the bridge crossing to the Crimea will begin in August at the expense of Russian Railways, said the Minister for Crimean Affairs Oleg Savelyev.

"In fact, the (construction) of approaches will begin in August at the expense of Russian Railways," Savelyev said. "We will experience quite large costs and problems during the construction of approaches to the bridge from the Krasnodar Territory."

The Minister recalled that the total cost of the bridge to the Crimea will be about 247 billion rubles. The bridge will be built in alignment with the island of Tuzla, "so as not to interfere with the operation of the ferry crossing and reduce technological risks."

Maximum project cost, including design and survey work, will amount to 228.3 billion rubles, of which 227.8 billion rubles will be allocated from the Federal Target Program "Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol until 2020." In 2014, it is planned to finance the project in the amount of 500 million rubles at the expense of the budget allocations provided for by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation under the subsection "General economic issues".

Earlier, the FTP planned to spend 246.9 billion rubles on the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait.

Rosavtodor is responsible for the implementation of the project. The bridge is planned to be completed by 2018. The total length of the transport crossing is 19 km.

It was planned to build the bridge in two stages: the 1st from the fall of 2014, the second from 2018. The first stage of the bridge will consist of a railway track and a motorway with one lane in each direction. The bridge will be expanded in the future. Financing for the construction of the first stage of the bridge will amount to 170 billion rubles, but after a meeting with the participation of the President of Russia and the announcement of the completion date for all work, it was decided to build the bridge in one stage. Financing will be carried out entirely at the expense of the federal budget of the Russian Federation. The total cost of the project is 283 billion rubles.

On September 5, 2014, the construction of transport (road and rail) approaches to the bridge began.

On October 1, 2014, the Ukrainian side officially announced that it was terminating the agreement on the construction of a bridge across the strait.

On October 29, 2014, the representative of the Republic of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov proposed to build a modular flexible tunnel instead of the bridge.

On November 8, 2014, it was announced that the project would be implemented by Rosavtodor, and the full feasibility study of the project, which is currently being handled by Avtodor, would be ready by early December. At the same time, Andrey Kostyuk, deputy head of Rosavtodor, said that the decision had already been made and the bridge project had already been determined - it would be a four-lane electrified combined road and railway bridge.

On December 9, 2014, there is still no single contractor for the construction of the bridge. Until the end of the year, the government of the Russian Federation must choose the only contractor under the contract for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait worth 228 billion rubles (excluding approaches from the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory). The construction project has not yet been fully approved, no one understands what kind of geology it is.

The bridge is unlikely to be built without the consent of Ukraine

24.12.2014 the situation around the construction of a transport passage through the Kerch Strait is becoming more and more confusing. Until now, it seemed that the main problem was the lack of a feasibility study and the general contractor for the project, but yesterday the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that the construction of the bridge requires the consent of Ukraine, which Kiev will not give, and proposed to build a tunnel. Maritime law experts confirm that existing treaties require the bridge project to be coordinated with Ukraine, and say that Kyiv has the right to challenge the construction in international courts.

According to him, this is due "to international legal norms, according to which the Sea of Azov is a zone of general navigation." It is "hardly possible" to get Ukraine's consent, the official noted, adding that the construction of the underpass would be cheaper and would not require approval.

Russia and Ukraine have been trying to determine the legal status of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait for about 20 years. In 2003, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation in the use of the Azov-Kerch water area as "internal waters of the two states", all issues should be regulated by an agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. In 2012, the countries signed a statement on the delimitation of the maritime space, but the administrative boundaries have not been established, and the use of the water area is still determined by the 2003 treaty.
The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties applies to the 2003 treaty. This means that the Russian Federation cannot violate its terms if it does not suspend it, referring, for example, to the provisions of Article 62 "Radical change in circumstances", implying a change in the status of Crimea. But, he notes, most countries do not recognize the transfer of Crimea to the Russian Federation, and Ukraine has every chance to challenge this "radical change" in the international court or in the UN conciliation commission, and, as practice shows, such processes can take decades. Kirill Dozmarov from Art De Lex believes that due to plans to build a transport crossing, Ukraine is under the threat of blocking the strait for the transit of its own ships.

In 2015, a general contractor was found for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait

01/14/2015 Stroygazmontazh, a billionaire Arkady Rotenberg, allegedly a friend of Putin, will be the general contractor for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait.

The choice of "Stroygazmontazh" is largely justified by the fact that "the company has at least some general contracting experience." Earlier, Stroygazmontazh acted as the general contractor for the construction of the Russkaya compressor station on South Stream.

The draft government decree on the appointment of the Rotenberg structure as the executor and the draft agreement with this company have already been sent for approval to the relevant ministries and departments. A complete list of participants in a large-scale project has not yet been formed. It is assumed that Stroygazmontazh will do half of the work, and other construction companies will do the rest.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree appointing Stroygazmontazh as the sole contractor for the design and construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait.

Within the framework of the federal target program (FTP) for the socio-economic development of Crimea, 247 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, and this amount does not include long-range approaches. According to the plan of the Russian authorities, the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait should be built in 2018-2020.

February 4, 2015 At a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with government members, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak reported:

"As a result of competitive negotiations and due to the optimization of technological solutions, it was possible to reduce the maximum cost of the bridge by 19 billion rubles, in accordance with the current Federal Target Program, this transition costs almost 247 billion rubles, today the maximum price by order of the government, under the contract, is - 228.3 billion rubles.

"This price cannot be changed under the terms of the contract either during the design or during construction," he stressed.

The opening of automobile traffic in the operating mode and the start of temporary operation of the railway line are planned for December 18, 2018. The width of the Kerch Strait is from 4.5 to 15 kilometers. According to the published order No. 118-r of January 30 on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation, the cost of the work will be 228.3 billion rubles.

The Cabinet of Ministers included the crossing of the Kerch Strait, which will be built by 2018, in the M25 (A290) highway

The construction of a transport crossing through this strait will ensure the creation of a new transport connection between the mainland of the Russian Federation and the Crimean peninsula

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed Decree No. 412 dated April 28, 2015 on the inclusion of road sections and a transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, which will be built by 2018, into the M25 federal public highway (the old registration number, which can also be used until December 31, 2017) (A290) is a federal highway of Russia. Passes within the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea. It is part of the European route E 97.

The construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait will ensure the creation of a new transport connection between the mainland and the Crimean peninsula using a highway, the resolution says. The new transport route will include, among other things, the planned construction of an entrance from the road to the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, a transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, an entrance from the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait to Kerch, as well as road access to the ports of Kavkaz and Taman.

The Decree made appropriate changes to the list of public roads of federal significance and to the list of other federal roads.

According to the government decree, the opening of road traffic on the bridge across the Kerch Strait in working mode should begin in December 2018. The commissioning of the bridge and the completion of the state contract are scheduled for the summer of 2019.

On May 16, work began on the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait in Crimea.

At the moment, the bridge is being built on the coast of the Krasnodar Territory, as well as on the island of Tuzla, which is located in the Kerch Strait between Crimea and mainland Russia.

According to the latest information, the construction of a temporary technological bridge has begun in the Krasnodar Territory. According to experts, such a crossing is necessary in order to bring materials and equipment for the future capital structure.

The very design of the bridge across the Kerch Strait is planned to be completed by June 30. The bridge will be 19 km long and the new structure will include both a road crossing with two traffic lanes in each direction and two railway tracks.

The preparation of materials for the withdrawal of land for the needs of construction will be completed by August 5. By this time, the infrastructure that is necessary to start this large-scale construction will be prepared.

The piles of the new bridge will be driven down to bedrock to a depth of up to 70 meters. The spans are planned to be assembled at the Kerch shipyard "Zaliv".

“It will be an ordinary, but very technological bridge using exclusively domestic materials, structures, technologies. Therefore, we are confident that our transport industry, our road bridge builders will be able to implement this project on time,” said Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov.

He said that the main stage of preparatory work, both for the construction of the bridge and related to the development of a feasibility study, has been completed. A contract was signed for the construction and design of the bridge with a fixed price. Work is underway to lay road and rail approaches.

"I can say that not only me, but also our entire team that is involved in this project, has always had confidence in their abilities and the ability to implement this project. Really difficult geological conditions. The seismicity of the object is 9 points .... But still, despite these risks, as well as environmental and archaeological ones .... Still, this project can be implemented," Sokolov noted.

The Government of the Russian Federation has appointed businessman Arkady Rotenberg as the contractor for the design and construction of a transport passage across the Kerch Strait. The width of the Kerch Strait is from 4.5 to 15 kilometers.

The purchase of works with a total value of 228.3 billion rubles will be carried out by the Rosavtodor FKU Uprdor Taman. temporary operation of the railway line is planned for December 2018.

Builders drive piles to create a transition

From the side of the Kerch Peninsula, work has begun on the construction of a temporary bridge, which will become a corridor along which building materials and utilities will be transferred to the other side.

The roar was heard even on the city embankment. Work is in full swing. Builders put marks on concrete piles, while machinery drills the ground and plunges supports into it.

08/17/2015 and the construction site of the bridge across the Kerch Strait was scored

first pile. At present, builders from the side of Kerch are cutting through the ground with huge drills, the diameter of which reaches half a meter.

According to the press service of the city administration, meter marks were applied on the piles to control how deep the structure went into the ground.

On August 31, 2015, temporary working bridges began to be erected between Taman and Kerch.

The first bridge will be completed this autumn. It will connect the Taman side and the island of Tuzla. Two more working bridges - from the island of Tuzla to the navigation channel and from the channel to Kerch - will be created by the summer of 2016. Auxiliary bridges will provide weather-independent access to construction sites.

"This is an important component of the preparatory period activities. They are intended for the delivery of materials and equipment to the place of production of the main work and for transport communications," the SGM-Most company noted.

Earlier, in the construction area of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, tests of soil strength began.

The construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait is on schedule

Construction work on the construction of automobile approaches and a transport passage through the Kerch Strait is proceeding on time and without violations, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak told reporters during an inspection of the construction on Tuzla Island.

"The construction of the bridge crossing is proceeding on time, without violations. At the same time, the tasks of connecting the island of Krym with the mainland of the Russian Federation were being solved. Several technological tasks are being solved at once, such as the creation of temporary auxiliary structures, as well as the laying of a main gas pipeline and an energy bridge to the Crimea. All work is proceeding according to graphics," Kozak said.

01.10.2015 2009, traffic was opened on the first of three working bridges necessary for the construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait. A temporary bridge was laid between the Taman Peninsula and Tuzla Island.

“After the bridge is put into operation, we will be able to carry out delivery flows of inert materials and metal structures for the subsequent stages of the construction of the transport crossing around the clock in one direction and the other,” said Leonid Ryzhenkin, head of the department for special projects at Stroygazmontazh.

In the construction of the first temporary bridge, 58 supports were installed, which were sunk to a depth of 56 meters. Traveling to the other side by truck takes no more than 5 minutes, on foot - 15 minutes. The total weight of the metal structures used in the construction of the working bridge exceeds 3.5 thousand tons. Before the start of construction equipment on the temporary bridge, the builders successfully tested the bridge structure for loads. To do this, trucks weighing 45 tons were driven across the bridge in both directions.

"According to the results of static tests, it was found that the bridge fully complies with the calculated prerequisites. There are no residual deformations, the deflections correspond to the calculated ones. The bridge can be operated under the action of super-heavy, special loads during the construction of the Kerch Bridge," said Svetlana, Director General of the Diagnostic Research Institute Bokhanova.

According to the representative of the contractor, two other bridges - from Tuzla Island to the shipping channel and from the fairway to the Kerch coast - will be ready by the summer of 2016. The facilities will ensure the delivery of workers, cargo and equipment, including heavy cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 250 tons, to the work site along the entire construction front, regardless of weather conditions.

Currently, preparations are underway for construction, work is being carried out on the banks and in the strait at the same time. Thus, in the city of Kerch and in the village of Taman, shift camps are being created to accommodate bridge workers, and mobile plants for the production of concrete and asphalt have been put into operation.

"One of the camps, designed for more than 500 builders, has already been built and put into operation on the Taman side. A second camp is being created next to it, where dormitories and hotels are provided for more than 3,000 builders," Stroygazmontazh reported.

The Stroygazmontazh company noted that during the construction of the bridge, more than 5,000 people will be able to live in residential complexes on the Taman and Kerch banks. Such an infrastructure will make it possible to employ more than ten thousand builders working on a rotational basis at the peak of construction.

Rotational camps for future builders of the bridge across the Kerch Strait include: two- and three-story hostels for workers and engineers, construction headquarters, checkpoints, canteens, bath-laundry modules, medical stations.

In order to test the first temporary bridge, a convoy of loaded trucks passed over it. The bridge has been successfully tested.

The official presentation of the bridge across the Kerch Strait has taken place!

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was presented with a project to build a bridge across the Kerch Strait. The presentation was held as part of the Sochi-2015 International Investment Forum.

Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov demonstrated to the head of government on a three-dimensional model how the shipping arch will be arranged. According to him, its height will be 35 meters. At this point, the bridge will be divided into railway and automobile branches.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak assured Medvedev that "everything is going according to plan." The Prime Minister asked: "When are the deadlines?"

"It is planned to open the labor movement in December 2018," the head of the Ministry of Transport replied. The prime minister urged adherence to these deadlines, "so that later there would be no problems of a different order."

According to the presentation of the project, the total length of the bridge will be 19 kilometers, the maximum depth of piles is 70 meters. The bridge supports will be installed outside the tectonic fault zone.

According to the project, the bridge bypasses the zones of volcanic activity. It is assumed that the automobile part of the crossing will have four lanes with an estimated speed of 120 km/h. It is also planned to build two railway tracks with an estimated speed of 120 km/h for passenger trains and 80 km/h for freight trains. The width of the navigable arch will be 227 meters and will not create obstacles for the movement of ships.

It is expected that due to the Kerch bridge, by 2019, the intensity of car traffic will be 12 thousand 800 cars, by 2025 - 21 thousand cars, by 2040 - 40 thousand cars. The intensity of railway traffic will be 47 pairs of trains in 2019 and will increase from 50 to 65 pairs from 2025 to 2040, respectively.

According to calculations, passenger and freight traffic will increase from 14 million in 2019 to 15 million in 2025, and by 2040 this figure will be more than 17 million.

Currently, preparations are underway for the construction of a bridge to the Crimea, said Sokolov. Work is being carried out on the shores and in the waters of the Kerch Strait at the same time. Thus, in the city of Kerch and in the village of Taman, shift camps are being created to accommodate bridge workers, and mobile plants for the production of concrete and asphalt have been put into operation.

In the presentation of the project, it is noted that detours are being formed, along which materials will be delivered to the construction site, bypassing settlements. Temporary bridges are being built in the waters of the strait to deliver builders, cargo and equipment to the work site. At the same time, the temporary infrastructure should ensure the prompt and uninterrupted supply of resources necessary for the construction of the bridge, and the presence of its own production base will allow starting construction and installation work at eight sites simultaneously and completing the entire volume on time by December 2018.

In particular, three temporary "working" bridges are being built in the Kerch Strait, the first of which is already ready. The length of the transition is more than a kilometer and connects the Taman side and the island of Tuzla. For this, 58 supports were installed, the piles were sunk to a depth of 56 meters. Driving across the bridge by truck takes no more than 5 minutes, on foot - 15 minutes.

Earlier it became known that the bridge across the Kerch Strait will consist of parallel road and rail crossings. Rosavtodor's official statement says that the road bridge was designed in accordance with the requirements of automobile category 1B (4 lanes) with an estimated speed of 120 km/h. The route will be free of charge.
In the first year of operation, traffic intensity on the highway will average about 12.8 thousand vehicles per day, and after 5 years the traffic will increase by more than 60%, exceeding the figure of 21 thousand vehicles daily. The estimated capacity of up to 40,000 vehicles per day will reach the bridge in 18-19 years.
As for the railway, thanks to the new bridge, it will be able to transport 14 million passengers and 13 million tons of cargo annually. The railway bridge will meet the requirements of the second category and will include two tracks. Passenger trains will be able to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h, and freight trains up to 80 km/h.
At the same time, the designers note that they assessed the potential users of the bridge. Conventionally, they are divided into three categories. The inner circle includes residents of Kerch (almost 150,000) and the Temryuk region (more than 120,000) - these are those who live in the immediate vicinity of the crossing, that is, they can, if necessary, travel through it daily. The second circle is the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (more than 2.2 million inhabitants) and the Krasnodar Territory with a population of more than 5.4 million people. And, finally, residents of the rest of Russia and other countries will be able to become users of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, who will prefer rail and road transport for traveling to Crimea for leisure or business.

In the Crimea announced the recruitment of workers for the construction of the Kerch bridge

Only subcontractors registered in Crimea, which have not yet been identified, will be able to recruit workers. But those who wish can already apply to the Employment Centers at their place of residence.

"By the time construction begins, the contractor will determine subcontractors that will directly involve people in the construction of the bridge. Companies with which contracts will be concluded will be required to register their branches or official representative offices on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. People will be recruited through these subcontractors. Relevant applications will be submitted us," said the director of the Kerch Employment Center.

He also assured that the Kerch Employment Center is in constant contact with the official representatives of the general contractor, the Stroygazmontazh company, and by the time the first applications are received, it will be ready to organize job fairs and advanced training courses for working professions, the need for which will be declared. "It is assumed that serious requirements will be imposed on the selection of personnel. Preference will be given to employees with high qualifications and work experience. It is planned to attract employees in various professions: concrete workers, reinforcing workers, slingers, welders, drivers, workers associated with the maintenance of a rotational camp, engineering highly qualified technical workers and others,” said Vadim Kutuzov.

The contractors involved in the preparatory phase of the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait have already involved more than 1.7 thousand employees, including more than 100 residents of Crimea. This was announced today by the press service of the bridge construction contractor Stroygazmontazh (SGM).

“At the moment, the contractors involved by the SGM company have already involved more than 1.7 thousand employees in the preparatory period, including more than 100 residents of the Crimea and almost 600 residents of the Krasnodar Territory,” the SGM said.
