Summer holidays in Latvia with children. Holidays with children at the sea Holidays in the Baltic States with children in the summer

Due to my pregnancy, the flight is canceled and the planned trip to Greece will not take place. And yet I want to take the child (7 years old) to the sea. Please advise a hotel with good children's animation and a heated (or indoor) pool. Are there any in the Baltics? Travel time is early July.

I read branches, for example, "Palanga or Jurmala". And I realized that you should not count on swimming in the sea. Therefore, I ask for help in choosing a hotel with a swimming pool, so that you still have the opportunity to swim. I went through hotels in both cities, but did not find a suitable one. Mostly apartments are offered in small hotels, and the only pool that was discovered is 15 by 7 meters in size. It's still not enough. About children's rest information, in general, did not find. Yes, there is a zoo in Riga, and a water park in Jurmala, but what can a child do besides this?

At 7 years old, a child does not require special heaped fun. Toys, sand, sea...

Quote: Not true. Under favorable conditions, everything is not so bad. Although water in 20 gr. we consider it warm :)
Quote: Hotel Jurmala spa, Palanga. But they are for adults. Emphasis on baths and spa treatments.

Dear Ta - that, the fact is that the Baltic states offer themselves very ascetically - this is a European vacation - no one dispels you and, God forbid, does not impose anything - I don’t remember something Turkish Khokhloma from them. Children are so good at the sea. Try to find out www.palangahotel.lt - this is one of the most expensive and elite hotels in Palanga and with bass, I don't know, unfortunately, with heating.
And about swimming - believe me, there is no better hardening for kids than the Baltic - this is a fact. They don't get sick after that.

In a similar situation was two years ago (pregnancy plus a child of 6 years). Also the choice fell on the Baltic states for the same reasons. But we were then in Estonia, in Haapsalu, at the Fra Mare hotel. The sea is close, there is a good playground on the beach. The hotel has a small pool with sea water, at that time an outdoor pool was being completed (now it has already been completed, for sure). Bicycles for rent (the hotel is located in the forest). There is a children's room, but it is more for kids. In the morning, you can go for organized exercises ....

Quote:

Speaking of Jurmala - Baltic Beach Hotel (by the sea, very center), Hotel Lielupe - there are large indoor pools. Although the sea in the Baltics is certainly not the same as in Turkey, but in July everyone swims anyway ..

There are children's playgrounds on the sea, a small amusement park (on Jomas street), an exhibition of vintage cars (if a boy, it might be interesting) ..

But about the usefulness of swimming in the Baltic Sea ... I don’t know, I myself live 10 minutes. from Jurmala, but every year it’s sadder to go to our sea ... Unfortunately ... And there is still, in fact, no infrastructure on the beaches - but Europe ...

Here are walks in the dunes and pine + sea air - that's it !!! I walked there during my pregnancy.

This medieval Gothic building is interesting not only from the outside: inside there is a stunning organ, as well as the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, containing more than half a million exhibits.

But the Cat House, or the House with Black Cats, was built already in the 20th century. Children will really like it, because the pointed towers of this house are crowned with sculptures of cute cats.

Families with children can also admire animals and birds in the famous Riga Zoo. This is a well-groomed European-style area where you can admire bright flamingos, mysterious manuls, exotic pandas and other cutest creatures of nature.

A good choice would be to go to one of the entertainment centers and parks. So, Lido has carousels, an autodrome, a hippodrome and other activities that are interesting for children. In summer, it is also worth trying your hand at the Mežakaķis amusement park, a rope town with many trails of different levels. Also in Riga there is a circus and a puppet theater.

Shopping lovers should definitely visit thematic fairs in the Kalnciema quarter. This place is interesting because you can taste a lot of Riga delicacies there, as well as have fun with the whole family: a variety of creative workshops are offered for children, there are hammocks, and performances are organized at special venues. What to bring with you from Riga as a keepsake and as a gift? It could be:

Riga is a great place for a summer vacation in Latvia with a child on the way to the sea.

And if you want outdoor entertainment, you can go to the rope park "Dzintari" (not to be confused with the concert hall).

About the Jurmala beach - in the video:

Liepaja

Undoubtedly, this city deserves to be visited by tourists. It is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, and its beach is famous for its fine and very white sand. The resort is great for families with children and friends.

How to get there?

There are many ways to get to the resort. Motorists can easily reach Liepaja from Riga in about a couple of hours and a half. If there is no way to get there by car, there is an option to go by bus - the regular service between Riga and Liepaja is quite well developed, the ticket will cost around 9 euros. You can also get there by train, although they run every day. It will take 3.5 hours and cost approximately 8 euros.

You can also stay at a hotel: for example, accommodation in a 3 * category, in the city center and a 10-minute walk from the beach, will cost three tourists about 3.5 thousand rubles a day. There is only one 5 * hotel in the resort. For 14 thousand rubles a day, guests will receive an elegant room, the opportunity to enjoy works of modern art or sit on the terrace overlooking the marina.

What to see and do?

Liepaja beach is one of the best on the Baltic coast. Golden soft sand, a gentle entrance to the water and a wide strip - that's what you need for a good rest. The Blue Flag mark is present.

The central square (Rose Square) will please you with an abundance of various flower beds, and the Grand Port will please you with views of all kinds of ships. If possible, you should go to the Kalvensky Zoo, which is located in the vicinity of Liepaja, 50 kilometers from the city. Wolverines, lynxes, llamas and other inhabitants of this place will surely entertain little tourists.

Latvia is a good place for summer holidays with children. Relatively budgetary road and accommodation, convenience in terms of language (there are many Russian-speaking guides, many signs and useful information are translated into Russian), mild climate, historical and natural beauties and clean beaches - all this is worthy to go to Latvia in the summer of 2019 .

Lithuanian resorts are well suited for holidays with small children, as there is no question of acclimatization and a long flight. In addition, there is where to take the child, there is almost no language barrier, an acceptable price level and a large selection of housing, which everyone selects according to their own criteria.

Which resort to choose

The area in the Curonian Lagoon area is perfect for relaxing with babies. There are several reasons for this.

  1. Warmer water (a few degrees warmer in the bay than in the open Baltic Sea).
  2. Almost always complete calm.
  3. The coast is wide, the beaches are spacious, and the entrance to the water is gentle. In addition, the coast is quite shallow.
  • offers a lot of entertainment and excellent conditions for a beach holiday, where there will be something to do for both children and adults.
  • appreciated for the opportunity to hide from the noise of Palanga, more empty beaches and a calm atmosphere in the resort. But it will be boring in the evening.
  • is valued for local sanatoriums, a calm rhythm of life and relaxation, for the absence of noisy nightlife and.

Zone for children on the territory of the water park in Druskininkai

Whichever of the proposed resorts for a beach holiday you choose, children will not be bored, as each of them has a little entertainment: playgrounds, amusement parks, zoos, water parks, museums.

When to go

The Baltic Sea cannot be called warm, as the water temperature here rarely exceeds +19 degrees. The average temperature norm for the summer period is +17 +18 degrees. Storms are quite common.

Air temperature in Palanga by months

The warmest summer month is July. Sometimes it is even very hot and the temperature reaches +27 ... +30 degrees. There are 7-10 such days during the summer and most often they fall just in July. Although the sultry heat is not very good for children, but this month it is more likely that the water will be warmer than usual and reach +22 degrees (with the condition that the current will be warm), and the children will be able to splash around.

Of course, one cannot compare a beach holiday in Lithuania with those resorts that have access to the warm sea (Black, Red, Mediterranean, etc.) or the ocean, since this country is suitable for those who cannot stand the sweltering heat, but still wants to bask in the sun. And in Lithuania, you can bask in the sun even when it seems that the sun does not warm and the sky is hazy. Lying in the dunes, thereby hiding from the wind, the kids and you will not be cold. But keep in mind, you can get sunburned there even if the sun is not bright.

For a beach holiday, you can consider the month of August. According to statistics, it is in August that the warmest water in the Baltic Sea is. But be prepared that the weather is unpredictable, it may rain and there may be no sun at all. Then do not be discouraged, the vacation will not be in vain anyway, because the children will nourish the body with healing iodized and coniferous oxygen. Put on rubber boots, raincoats and walk forward along the coast of the Baltic Sea. Trust me, kids will love this.

Lithuania can also offer a wonderful winter holiday with a variety of entertainment. Many Russians rush to visit Vilnius, Kaunas, Trakai and other Lithuanian cities during the winter holidays. As a rule, they want to see the sights of cities and enjoy the views of the streets decorated for the holidays.

If you want to go skiing, then it is better to go to Ignalina or Birštonas, where there are ski slopes for beginners, and there is also an opportunity to learn how to ski both adults and children. This resort, thanks to this gently sloping ski run, is perfect for beginner skiers and kids. According to the established tradition, it is in winter that Lithuanian cities rush to invite guests to various fairs, exhibitions, etc.

Beach in Palanga during peak season

What to visit

Can be found at any time of the year. You will have a great time in a beautiful private zoo near Klaipeda (“Mini-Zoo”), where animals are not kept in cages, but can move around the territory of the zoo together with visitors. The cells contain only predators and those who can be dangerous to people.

Those who love fairy tales will be interested in the Vienkiemis homestead, not far from Palanga, where there is a village of Dwarves with a lot of attractions. Similar impressions can be obtained in another homestead - "Two Bears", where there are many wooden slides, swings, as well as various entertainments with overcoming obstacles.

There is a Maritime Museum in Klaipeda. It should be visited by every tourist who came to Lithuania, regardless of age. Kids will be especially interested in a large aquarium with fish and in a dolphinarium, where, in addition to dolphins, there are fur seals and California seals. There are also a large number of sea birds and other representatives of marine fauna.

Not far from Palanga and Sventoji there is an entertainment complex with playgrounds and entertainment for children. Here you can also have lunch and dinner, as well as taste local kvass and beer.

In Vilnius, Druskininkai there are water parks. There are several entertainment zones, depending on the age of the vacationers, so both children and adults can get positive impressions and emotions. In these cities and in Kaunas, there are also amusement parks where you can walk through the trees and overcome obstacles. Such entertainment is interesting for the whole family, brave parents can even fly across the river.

Also in large cities and resort areas of Lithuania there are many museums, exhibitions and playgrounds with attractions, so neither children nor their parents will be bored.

Hotels in Lithuanian resorts are not in great demand. Basically, housing in the resort towns of Lithuania is apartments, guest houses or sanatoriums. Campsites are also popular, but vacationing with children is not very convenient due to the small size of houses, shared showers and toilets. Alternatively, you can choose private carved houses. The essence is the same, but on a private territory there is no large crowd of people, you will have a personal kitchen, a toilet with a shower, and the houses are all new. True, the price will be higher.

With children, you need to choose a place to stay near the beaches, but you should not overpay for proximity to the dunes and the sea either. Distances in Palanga and Sventoji are small, the main thing is not to go to the other end of the city. By the way, pay attention to the apart-hotels located between Palanga and Sventoji quite often there are excellent options for a family vacation.

I consider Riga, the capital of Latvia, to be the most attractive Baltic city for families with children in summer. Amusement parks, river walks, museums, excursions around the old city and a huge amount of sweets from the world's best confectioners will make the trip unforgettable not only for children, but adults will also like it very much.

Amusement parks. Riga is rich in various amusement parks, these are the oldest and most beautiful parks with a developed infrastructure, where you can have a wonderful rest with your children. One of these parks can be considered the amusement park "Mežakaķis", located in Mežaparks. This place is considered ideal for adventure lovers. The park has 65 obstacles from one to fifteen meters high, and these obstacles are divided according to the degree of difficulty into 5 separate tracks. And also the tracks differ in that each of them is designed for children of different ages. A special worker - an instructor monitors the safety of children, he makes sure that none of the children is injured and helps the children to perform various tasks.

Mezaparks also boasts an amusement park, a zoo and a children's railway. A good way to get to know Riga is to take a ride on the retro tram that departs from the city center and runs to Mežaparks. At the end of the trip, everyone usually arranges a picnic on the shore of the lake; for this, a special area is equipped by the lake.

The Lido amusement park is not located in the center of Riga, but a little far from it. It is also considered one of the most visited children's parks in the city. In the park there is a children's driving school and a railway, as well as everyone's favorite trampolines, 5D rides, slides and various jumping ropes.

The Sun Museum is one of the unusual museums located in Riga, against the backdrop of the same fine art galleries and

historical museums. There is also a fire-technical museum. Expositions in the museum from various countries of the world, the total collection includes more than 350 figures of the sun, as well as an exposition of "solar" works of Latvian artisans and artists. The museum is attractive for children by the presence of a special wall, on which each visitor, if desired, can bring his own art and depict the sun.

Riga Motor Museum. This is one of the oldest and largest museums of vintage vehicles located in the Baltics. Several collections and unique exhibits are stored here, which have no analogues in the whole world, such as "Rolls - Royce Silver Shadow" and "Lincoln Continental Town Car" these cars were presented by US President Nixon to Soviet President Brezhnev; or "Auto-Union Type C/D" German mountain car from 1938.

Fire-technical museum. Offers those wishing to learn the practical skills of extinguishing fires, introduces the history of fire fighting in Latvia, as well as watch documentaries and participate in quizzes.

Chocolate room Laima. Sometimes you can’t drag a child into a museum or on an excursion, but believe me, your child will definitely not refuse to visit this museum. After all, how can you pass by the "chocolate room", which is located in the museum of the legendary confectionery factory in Riga Laima. Visitors are introduced to the history of the development of confectionery production throughout Latvia, observe modern processes for making real chocolate, visit production workshops and, of course, taste this work of sweet art.

River walks. A different perspective of Riga can only be seen on a river cruise, which is carried out on small wooden boats. Everything is offered to nine routes along which boats ply. Along the Daugava, through the territory of the Central Market, past the island of Kipsala to the yacht harbor on Andrejsala. And there is even a ship that travels all the way to Jurmala, this is the New Way ship.

Aquapark Livu. "Līvu akvaparks" is one of the largest water amusement parks in the Baltics, located half an hour from the center of Riga. Both adults and children will get a lot of pleasant impressions in the water park. Here you can relax and unwind in the bath complex and enjoy delicious drinks in the water bar, or recharge with a portion of adrenaline while descending the extreme water tubes.

Entertainment center Go Planet. Children and adults will also enjoy active recreation and entertainment in this center. Billiards, karting, laser labyrinth, 4D cinema, Formula 1 racing and horse racing simulators, children's labyrinth with attractions. In general, there is entertainment for everyone to their liking.

Also, many hotels in Riga in the summer offer special programs for families with children and a package of services for families. Opera Hotel & Spa is one of the hotels offering its own program, for children a special menu has been developed in the restaurant, toys in the room, children's SPA procedures, as well as membership in the Kids Club.

Palanga- the famous resort, which is located in the western part of Lithuania, near the Baltic Sea. The area occupied by the resort is 7393 hectares, the number of inhabitants is 17.7 thousand, the length of the city along the coast is 25 km. The small town of Sventoji, located 12 km to the north, is adjacent to the territory of the Palanga resort, almost near the border of Latvia.

In 2004, an international jury awarded the Blue Flag to Palanga Beach near Birute Park. There is clear water in the sea.

Today, Palanga is rightfully considered the largest climatic and balneological resort in Lithuania. The main healing factors of the resort are pine forest, maritime climate, snow-white sand, dunes. An excellent means of healing is sunbathing, which activates the metabolism. They improve well-being, cheer up, give positive emotions.

Palanga is perfect for a beach holiday with children! Horseback riding, jet skis, catamarans, yachts, boats, tennis courts, sports grounds - all this offers a hospitable resort.
