Waterfalls in the hot spring how to get there. Kaverzinsky waterfalls, hot spring. Visiting Hell's Falls: routes and recreation

One of the most beautiful places in the Goryachiy Klyuch resort is a waterfall with the sonorous and at the same time mysterious name of Hell. The locals gave this name due to its resemblance to the supposed picture of the dungeon, the Kingdom of the Dead. The water rapidly falls into the deepest bowl several meters to the bottom. And it falls not just from the mountain, but from sharp stones that have a somewhat ominous appearance. However, the whole picture has an impressive, majestic appearance rather than a frightening one... all the text...

In the river basin with the strange and unromantic name Gryaznaya there is a Dolmenny stream. It runs along the northern slope of the Main (Watershed) Caucasus Range, in one place forming an eight-meter waterfall. This waterfall received its name, obviously, due to the fact that not far from it you can find the Psekup dolmens. There are twenty of them in total, seven of them are located near the Dolmen Waterfall. It is because of this that local residents called the whole text...

Five kilometers from the southern resort town of Goryachiy Klyuch, in the upper reaches of a stream called Maltseva Shchel. Maltsevo waterfalls flow down from the northern slopes of the Kotkh ridge. Taken together, the Maltsev waterfalls are three cascades of water flows, the total height of which is twenty-three meters. The waterfalls are located inside a gorge, which is surrounded by sandy cliffs. There are grottoes and niches here. This attraction has another name, which...

Kaverzinsky waterfalls are located on the Tambov Shchel stream - a tributary of the Kaverze River, also known as Kavyarze, also known as Kobza. The nearest settlement is the village of Khrebtovoye, 15 km from Goryachiy Klyuch along the M4 highway towards Dzhubga. There is no sign on the highway, so you need to find a landmark on the left as you move - a monument to soldiers at the side of the road, next to which a picturesque pine tree, noticeable from afar, grows.

Behind the monument, before reaching the public transport stop, you need to turn left onto a dirt road. You can leave your car right here and continue on foot. You can drive a little further, cross a ford (usually it is passable for all cars) and get to an apiary, where they offer to look after your car for a small fee. The SUV will be able to travel even further, but the condition of the primer changes depending on the rains.

The first part of the route runs along a dirt road in the forest - 5 km. You will meet two forks: at the first you need to turn right (the left branch of the road is overgrown and untravelled), at the second you need to turn left (and the right branch goes up). A couple of kilometers after the second fork, the convenient path ends and then you need to walk along the bed of the Tambovskaya Shchel stream. With rare exceptions, at any time of the year you can jump from shore to shore over rocks and logs without getting your feet wet, but it is more convenient and faster to walk through the water in rubber boots.

Another less than half an hour’s walk and a tributary of the stream with the Small Kaverzinsky Waterfall opens on the right as you move. Its height is small - about 4 m, but it looks picturesque, falling in a cascade of two wide stone steps. In May, when the trees are already covered with leaves, you may not even notice that behind it there is another, no less beautiful waterfall of approximately the same height. Above the waterfall is also a convenient place to stop or have lunch.

From here it’s a kilometer away to the Big Waterfall. The height of the Bolshoi Kaverzinsky waterfall is slightly more than 10 m.

You can go around it on the left using a ladder made of logs tied with ropes. It is quite reliable and has been used for many years, and is updated periodically by someone.

You should definitely climb above the waterfall: the stream bed there is the most beautiful. Another three hundred meters - and in front of us two tributaries of the stream merge, and between them another small water stream descends along fancy stone steps; it flows out of the Universitetskaya cave.

Having climbed these steps, we find ourselves on a steep path leading up to a very cozy clearing, next to which is the entrance to the Universitetskaya cave. A stream flows from the cave, the entrance to it is narrow and therefore difficult, but you can explore it several meters deep if you take a flashlight. Near the cave is a good place to camp. From here you can return back the same way or continue the route up through Mount Shchetka and exit to Fanagoriyskoye.

(July 2013)

Another assault on Google's diversity in search of interesting routes came across " One of the most famous and visited waterfalls in the vicinity of the mountainous Krasnodar region. It is located 5.5 km from the Krasnodar - Dzhubga highway (the village of Khrebtovoye) on the Tambovskaya Shchel stream, the right tributary of the Kaverze River. This is the territory of the resort town of Goryachiy Klyuch." And while the description of the beauty was absorbed by the brain, the route was already smoothly flowing onto the new maps.

We left early in the morning, the weather was excellent, the day promised to be beautiful and quite hot, which, in fact, turned out to be the case.
Having passed Goryachiy Klyuch we looked “with all our eyes” in order to see the monument at the entrance to the village. Khrebtove, where we needed it. This sculpture of history turned out to be of a very inconspicuous type, but it was noticed, which is where the hiking trip into the wilds of the Hot Spring began.
The first 2500-3000m passed along a country road, peacefully turning into an old portage in a dense deciduous forest. Here and there we crossed the river. It’s a tricky thing, the water is cold, but in the heat it’s especially pleasant. Finally, we came to a rocky shore, where we descended into a small gorge, along which we had to walk the remaining kilometers in search of that very large waterfall. Nature delighted us with picturesque places and increasingly powerful rock walls and river flows. With every meter the gorge became deeper and the water colder, but moving from stone to stone we continued to move.
From time to time, the path was blocked by small river rapids and windfalls, which had accumulated considerably from trees that had fallen from heights.

However, there was a pocket full of enthusiasm, and this only fueled the desire to see that same waterfall. On the way we also encountered small grottoes and lakes in rocky hollows.

Approximately 3000-3500m from the beginning of the gorge we came to the large Kaverzinsky waterfall.

The waterfall turned out to be really beautiful, 10m high.

After admiring the views and having a little rest, we decided to move on to the University Cave, where the river gathers its flow. Kaverze. To the left of the waterfall was a hastily knocked together wooden ladder, attached to the rock with metal cables, however, it looked very reliable. Having climbed the waterfall, we continued along the upper gorge. After about 100-200m we met a group of tourists comfortably camped in tents on one of the gentle banks.
A little further we were faced with a very steep and slippery climb from the gorge to a forest clearing. We managed to climb, but we preferred not to think about the descent)
The University Cave was quite close. It is a gap in the rock, stretching about 5-6m deep, and then widening into a small hall. The water was simply icy, despite the Krasnodar heat.

The ill-fated descent from the cave into the gorge, despite the fears, was done carefully and efficiently. And the path to the beginning of the route was soft and painless) not a single leg was hurt in the gorge) With the exception of my right hand, which at one random moment found the Hogweed plant under another stone. Beware of him! The plant burns very badly!

The total length of the route is 11.5-12.5 km
The total time length of the route is 6-7 hours, depending on weather conditions and characteristics of the group

Hell's Waterfall in Goryachy Klyuch (Goryachiy Klyuch, Russia) - detailed description, location, reviews, photos and videos.

  • Last minute tours to Krasnodar region

They say you can look at fire and water endlessly. Perhaps the crowds of tourists who have walked the difficult path to the fantastically beautiful Hell Falls will be direct confirmation of this. Well, how else can we explain the fact that the flow of water, completely low by world standards, rushing off sharp stones, literally attracts travelers of all ages to stay longer? So they sit, quiet, enchanted and reverently contemplating nature in the flesh. Well, having paid a one- or two-hour tribute to the waterfall with a terrifying name, they hurry on, so that on long winter evenings they can remember that rumbling rustle of water, the glare of the sun and the emerald green of the moss around.

It is no coincidence that Hell Falls is considered one of the most beautiful places in the vicinity of Goryachy Klyuch. Of course, a certain flair of romance and entertainment is given to it by its name, which came from nowhere. It is said that this stream of water got its name from the Kingdom of the Dead because of its impressive appearance. They say that water falling from a height of 12 m into a bowl several meters deep produces a gloomy impression. And the sharp stones that break through at its top add tragedy to the overall appearance.

Be that as it may, the majestic Hell Falls remains one of the most popular attractions of Goryachy Klyuch. It is located in the Chepsi River basin and is part of a tributary of Hell Creek. Getting there on your own will be problematic for an unprepared tourist - it is better to go on an organized excursion or find an experienced guide who will at the same time show all the amazing natural and man-made beauties of Chepsi.

It is no coincidence that Hell Falls is considered one of the most beautiful places in the vicinity of Goryachy Klyuch. Of course, a certain flair of romance and entertainment is given to it by its name, which came from nowhere.

Well, if you have free time and desire, it is better to plan your trip so as to see several waterfalls at once, in addition to Hell. After all, this area is part of the basin of the beautiful Psekups River, which means that in the area you can find 15 small rivers, 50 streams and as many as 22 waterfalls. Alas, getting to them is not so easy, but the walk will be even more interesting. Tourists will be treated only to protected areas, relict forests, incredible natural beauty and the most elegant waterfalls of all types and sizes. Don't forget about special equipment and comfortable boots

Address: Krasnodar region, Goryachy Klyuch, village. Phanagorian. You can get to the village by bus No. 193, which runs every day from the center of Goryachiy Klyuch.

Unjustifiably scary name for a cascading waterfall

On the northern slopes of the Kotkh Goryachy Klyuch ridge, the Erik Maltseva stream originates, and the Devil’s Mouth waterfall (Psechiako) is also located there. The waterfall consists of 4 cascades, the height of which is 23 meters.

Residents, as well as tourists, have trampled a forest path that runs along Maltsev Stream and leads travelers to the waterfall. The duration of the walking route is 1.5-2 hours one way .

Route diagram to the Devil's Mouth waterfall from the center of Goryachiy Klyuch

To get to the forest path, you need to turn from the central street of Lenin, Goryachiy Klyuch onto Irkutsk Division Street, then follow this street to the intersection with Shchorsa Street. Further along Shchorsa Street, climb up to the forest area and exit onto a country road, which then turns into a trail.

We took this route back to the city.

Scheme of the route to the Devil's Mouth waterfall from Dantovo Gorge

We planned a walking route: Dante's Gorge - Klyuchevaya - Sapun - Mirror Rock - Devil's Mouth Waterfall. The map shows the slopes and peaks of the Goryachiy Klyuch area.
Red arrows both walking routes are shown (from the City Center, from Dante’s Gorges),
Psechiako waterfall marked green bold dot ,
Mirror Rock - blue bold dot .

If your route leads from Dante's Gap, then you must follow the blue markers. First, the trail leads to the observation deck of the Kokht ridge, and then the blue markers lead to a steep slope, straight to the foot of the Mirror Rock. Many tourists take a break at the rock, some take sandwiches with them, some take a blanket. The route is not difficult, so we saw many families with children.

The rock itself makes a strong impression; on one side it is large, so if you raise your head up, it seems as if it is falling on you. On the other side is the Mirror rock, very fragile to the touch. If you run your hand, it will crumble all over.

We decided to go upstairs. Hard. We stopped every 10 steps; the ground was not trampled down, it was loose. We have lost the path and it is difficult for a traveler to walk without it. After about 20 minutes we found ourselves at the top and saw that same path, as well as blue marks on the trees. It was decided to follow the markers and climb further along the well-trodden road, along the ridge of Mount Kotkh.
It was quite crowded, a couple of times we met vacationing couples basking in the Sun on the way. We overtook three groups of tourists following the same route.

At the very top of the Kotkh ridge, an amazing panorama of the city of Goryachiy Klyuch opens up, as well as the valley on the back side of the ridge. We stopped to admire the view, take a souvenir photo and bask in the first hot rays of the March sun.

I also wanted to say that in the forest, no matter how beautiful it is, traces of human activity are visible everywhere. Packages, bottles, pieces of paper, individually and in whole heaps, are scattered among the bushes and trees. It's a shame, comrades, it's a shame. But the world is not without good people. At the very top of the ridge we met a whole family of Eco-tourists. They had bags in their hands and were collecting garbage scattered throughout the forest along the hiking trail. I was very surprised and happy at the same time. The forest is cleaned up and looked after.
At some point, blue marks began to lead us onto a steep slope, and we began to descend. At that moment it seemed that the descent was more difficult than the ascent. We went down to the foot of the Mirror Rock, walked there a little and moved on until we came across the Erik Maltseva stream. Then the path led along the stream, crossing it many times.

Walk along the Erik Maltseva stream

Early spring in the Caucasus Foothills is truly a delicate and delicate time. The forest is still bare, it is all permeated with air and transparency. The sun's rays barely touch the ground; they fall on tree branches, stumps, and withered foliage that remains from the fall. Through the fallen leaves that survived the winter, bright greenery is already creeping through, sometimes dark green with shades of brown, sometimes light green, young and fresh. On the slopes of the ridges, where the sun successfully shines on empty areas, the first spring long-awaited forest flowers bloom. Oh, how bright it is from them in this still half-empty forest. Bright pink, purple, free-standing white, and clusters of yellow flowers of various shapes and sizes blooming delight the eyes of travelers with their novelty and beauty.

Descending into the gorge between the hills, where a small stream originates, one of the tributaries of the Psekups River - Erik Maltseva, gives off coolness and freshness. And if at the top of the mountain the feeling of spring does not leave you, then here, in the shadow of the foothill peaks, it seems that spring has not yet come. It’s cool near the water; the most vibrant carpet of moss spreads along the water like a soft and fluffy carpet. It feels soft and moist to the touch. Ivy entwines trees in places and covers them with its thick embrace. The lichen at the foot of the trees is either gray or dark green. Old and large trees lie fallen and follow the path. Because of this, the path sometimes disappears from our view, but clearly marked hiking trails show us the way.

Finally, the path led us to the long-awaited place - a waterfall. The road exhausted us terribly, because it so happened that the supply of drinking water ran out, and light snacks were eaten at the top of the mountains.

Dear tourists, always take enough water and food with you, even if you do not plan to walk for a long time. The forest is unpredictable and can take you far.

The first thing we did was to greedily drink the water that flowed along the cascades of the waterfall. The cool, clean and pleasant water gave us strength for the return journey.
