A wonderful hotel in a wonderful location... and a completely different Türkiye...

We express our deep gratitude to all the staff of the Nicholas park hotel for a wonderful vacation!)) Thank you very much for everything: excellent cuisine, good accommodation, wonderful service and an amazing friendly atmosphere! Big hello to Manager Mehmet and reception assistant Ziya! (WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO ALL THE STAFF OF NICHOLAS PARK HOTEL FOR OUR WONDERFUL HOLIDAY! THANKS A LOT FOR SUPERIOR CUISINE, GOOD SETTLING, EXCELLENT SERVICE AND VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE! OUR KIND REGARDS TO FRONT OFFICE MANAGER MEHMET AND HOTEL SERVANT ZIA!!! )
There are hotels that brighten up your impressions of your holiday destination; There are places that brighten up your impressions of a poor choice of hotel, and it also happens that the choice of hotel only enhances your impression of an amazing vacation spot... The last option, especially at a very budget price, is very rare... Nicholas park exactly such a rare wonderful opportunity!

Location
The location of the hotel is super!) We were going on vacation unexpectedly, we thought to go in May, but it didn’t work out, so by the time we purchased the tour, all the hotels on the shore were much more expensive in price, except for Dorian. But according to reviews, Nicholas park was much better in terms of food and service, so we chose it and did not regret it! The price from June 12 to June 26 for 14 nights was 74 thousand with flights. Nicholas park is located high in the mountains, the views around are amazing, especially from the hotel’s observation deck, and the pine air is simply dizzying. The hotel area is very well-groomed, filled with flowers. In addition, there is peace and quiet, unlike Oludeniz, where it is pleasant to walk in the evening along the noisy streets and return to your hotel... Note that the foot of Babadag, where the hotels on the coast are located, is not covered with pine trees, but mainly with deciduous trees, The pines start higher on Babadag. That’s why the air in the mountains is completely different! At the same time, getting to Oludeniz is very easy. From the hotel along the road surrounded by pine trees, walk about 10 minutes to the stop. When you reach a fork in the roads (one leads to the village of Hisaronu, the other to the right down the mountain), choose the road to the right - it’s closer and more convenient: it’s more pleasant to walk down the hill through the forest. When returning from the sea, it is better to get to Hisaronu, since it will be more difficult to walk back up the mountain. Minibuses run literally every 5 minutes; it takes 7-8 minutes to get to Belcekiz beach (Oludeniz public beach).

Accommodation and room
Having read the reviews before the trip, we immediately asked for a room on the 3rd floor with a good view and received the keys to room 322 with a nice view of Mount Babadag, the pool and the sea. Some reviews, especially two years ago, were full of information that it was Russians who were being placed in bad rooms on the 1st floor. We confidently declare that this is not so. We saw many foreigners who lived on the first floor. Indeed, at first they try to accommodate you in lower rooms, but if you ask, if there are free rooms, the issue is resolved, as in our case. We arrived very fortunately - early in the morning on Monday, June 12, after traveling on the weekend there were free rooms! The room itself is small - the room is 12-14 meters. The room has a window, a balcony door, plus another small window. The room area stated on the hotel website is 22 meters, probably including a bathtub, a corridor and a balcony. But we were satisfied with everything - the room was clean and bright, two bedside tables, a mirror, a wardrobe, a refrigerator, a TV. Cleaned well every day.

Nutrition
The food is excellent! Especially considering that the hotel is three stars (although in Russia it is sold as four). In the morning - scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, omelet with vegetables, sausages, porridge, cheese, sausage, fruits, plenty of vegetables, various jams and portioned chocolate spread, plus a variety of pastries - on different days croissants, bagels with sesame seeds, buns with olives, muffins etc. Good coffee, including cappuccino, as well as hot chocolate from a machine. In the restaurant’s refrigerator, in addition to chilled bottled water, there is always milk and very nice ayran in packs. Great selection of food for both lunch and dinner!
The chefs especially tried to surprise us for dinner - delicious kebab and shawarma, lula, lamb cutlets, chicken, turkey, fish! Large selection of desserts! Fruits include watermelon, melon, apples, oranges and grapefruits. For lunch they bake delicious güzleme and pide. After lunch they serve delicious ice cream of several types, and from 11 to 17 you can have a snack: pizza, vegetables, etc. are available. In Kemer, many fives did not feed this way).

Service
The service at the hotel is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is extremely pleasant! Since most of the vacationers are foreigners, communication is mainly in English. Only hotel employee Ziya speaks good Russian. You feel like you're not just guests here... It's like you're visiting friends! In the hotel lobby, in the area where information about flights is posted, there is a guest book where tourists leave their reviews about the hotel. In different languages, words of gratitude and best wishes... I also couldn’t help but write a few warm words!

Oludeniz

We love Turkey very much, we have been here more than 10 times and it seemed that after the beauties of Kemer, especially Tekirova, Goynuk and Beldibi, it would be difficult to surprise... But Oludeniz is a completely different Turkey with some, we would say, “intimate” "beauty...If in Kemer one immediately sees a single beautiful picture - a multi-kilometer coastline, and behind a string of majestic mountains, then in Oludeniz the pictures change like in a magic kaleidoscope. A great many beautiful bays... here is the wonderful Belchekiz beach, a 10-minute walk and you find yourself on the spit of the Blue Lagoon, where the photos look like on the paradise islands... and next to it is the stunning Kidrak... further away is Kabak... And from the Lycian Way there are views crazy views that blow your mind with their beauty... Words cannot describe this, you need to see it with your own eyes at least once... but in order to convey at least a little of our impressions of Oludeniz, we are attaching photos that are more eloquent than any descriptions!)

Beaches
All Oludeniz beaches are not too crowded, which allows you to feel completely at one with nature! The reason is that the main contingent of vacationers are Englishmen, lovers of pubs and the hotel pool! Foreigners usually arrive at the beach around lunchtime, so in the morning there are generally quite few people, except that there are more in the Blue Lagoon.

Belcekiz
The Belcekiz public beach, which you approach by minibus, is wonderful. We immediately went to its left end, which is next to Babadag, and sat on towels. In June, the sun was already very hot after 10, although we arrived at the beach no later than 9. Therefore, in a local shop, of which there are a great many in Oludeniz, we bought an umbrella for 42 liras (this is the price for a large umbrella for two, a small one for one person costs 30 liras; lira exchange rate 1 $ - 3.65 lira). Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are paid: 10 liras for renting one sunbed and 10 liras for renting an umbrella for one day. The beach is sand and pebbles: from the sea a few meters there are pebbles, and then sand, so lying on towels is very comfortable, contemplating the numerous paragliders in the sky! Surprisingly, the water in Oludeniz is not blue, but turquoise, almost like in Cyprus! We especially attach photos confirming this. It turns out that in Oludeniz there are underground springs flowing into the sea, so the water is always refreshing and very clean. In June the sea was about 23 degrees, very comfortable.

Beaches of the Blue Lagoon
It is unforgivable to visit Oludeniz and not see the Blue Lagoon! The main thing is to go to the beach, located directly at the tip of the spit (on the outer side and at the very top of the spit, the most wonderful place is the Blue Lagoon beach!) There is soft light sand and very clear turquoise water, again, because of the gushing springs, it’s even cool in places. The views are incredibly beautiful - we’ve included a lot of photos! The cost of entry to the Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve is 7 liras per person for the whole day (you can leave the territory and then return, keeping your ticket). Renting sunbeds and an umbrella is more expensive - 15 liras each, so it is better to take your own umbrella and sit on towels. On the way to the beach, already on the territory of the Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve, there will be many shops where they sell a wonderful thing at a very affordable price - an aquapack of various sizes for 10 liras (200 rubles). You put your phone or camera in this aquapack and calmly swim across the lagoon: 5 minutes of swimming and you can take a stunning photo of the lagoon spit. You can also sail to the islands in about 10 minutes, where there are many yachts, and capture the lagoon from a different angle! Photos are attached!
You shouldn’t spoil your impression of the Blue Lagoon with a trip to Suger Beach, since this and some other beaches of the Blue Lagoon are located in the “standing zone”: there is more of a lake there than a sea. We saw this part of the Lagoon during our walk to Kayakoy along the Shot Track from SunCity Beach, more on this below.

Kidrak Beach
Magic Kidrak...it's definitely worth seeing... The first time we went to it on foot: get to the left end of Belchekiz, climb onto the highway and walk for about 35 minutes, enjoying the most beautiful views, capturing them in photos. Entrance to Kidrak - 6 liras per person. The beach is stunning: it is about 1 km long, with the oldest pine trees reaching the water itself! The water in the sea is incredibly soft! It turns out that there are also special springs gushing into the sea, creating such an interesting effect. The beach itself is small pebbles, and its right end is generally sandy. As we wrote above, all the beaches of Oludeniz are not crowded, but on Kidrak there are almost no people at all - there were at most 15 people.
There is also a minibus running to Kidrak every hour early in the morning (and after 9 every 30 minutes) from Oludeniz (marked “Kabak”), the ride takes about 10 minutes. It is better to check the schedule in advance at the Belcekiz bus stop. You can go back from Kidrak directly to Hisaronu!

Butterfly Valley
Having read about the Butterfly Valley before our vacation, we firmly decided to visit it. Boats depart from the Belcekiz pier several times a day to the Valley of the Butterflies. Ticket price per person: 20 liras. This price includes a round trip boat trip, plus free access to the waterfalls in the Valley of the Butterflies (for other visitors it costs 6 liras). You will be taken by boat to the Valley, where you will have about two hours of free time.
The place itself is unusual, it looks very beautiful from the sea, and even better from above (we contemplated the beauty during a trip by minibus to Kabak beach). But, being in the Valley itself, to be honest, the impressions will be weaker... there are no butterflies))) Of course, maybe it’s not the season - they say butterflies are found there from July to September... but nevertheless, we saw only one orange when we walked to the waterfalls. The “waterfall” is more than miniature, about 1.5 meters high. Next time, we’ll try to go down to the Valley of Butterflies from the highway (from there a really beautiful view opens up) and find the second waterfall.
Since the 6 Islands boat tour includes a visit to the Valley of the Butterflies, you can see it as part of this excursion!

Kabak
If you want to enjoy magnificent views against the backdrop of mountain serpentine roads, choose the road to Kabak. Kabak is a remote beach, the road to it takes about 30 minutes by minibus from Oludeniz. The minibus runs, as mentioned above, every hour, and after 9 o’clock in the morning more often - once every 30 minutes. Upon arrival, if you visit Kabak in the morning, be prepared to walk down to the beach along a mountain path for about 35 minutes at a leisurely pace. In general, you can get to the beach itself by local minibus. The driver is ready to go for 50 liras, that is, early in the morning when there are no people, it’s a little expensive for two. We were happy to go on foot, especially since the road offers a wonderful view of Kabak Beach from above - a small strip of beach buried in pine trees between green mountains. There are no problems with returning back. At lunchtime there are many people who want to go up, so the cost of a local minibus costs 5 lire for 10-11 people. Kabak - the beach is very nice (we attach a photo), but I especially liked the mountain serpentine along which you drive to it)). In general, I liked Kidrak more).

Lycian Paths
Oludeniz is truly a godsend for tourists who love natural beauty and active recreation! A pleasant bonus of Nicholas park is its close location to the Lycian Paths. From the hotel you go to the minibus stop (along the path to the right from the mountain). Cross the highway and follow the road to the Montana Pine Hotel. Not far from it the Lycian Trail begins along the slope of Babadag! From Nicholas park to a super view of the whole of Oludeniz, the Blue Lagoon and the islands is about an hour’s journey. The road is not difficult, although it is uphill, the main thing is not to go in the heat. We went for the first “reconnaissance” after 4 pm, and contemplated a beautiful view of Oludeniz in golden tones, as the sun was setting and shining into the camera. Therefore, the next time we went in the morning, at about 10 o’clock in the morning the photos turned out to be extraordinary - indeed, the Blue Lagoon... the azure sea (we attach the photo). Surprisingly, as long as we walked along the Lycian Paths, we practically saw no tourists: once we met a professional Turkish photographer who was photographing Oludeniz for a magazine. Therefore, we were incredibly lucky when in the morning on the Lycian Way we met a local resident who took a photograph of the two of us!

Not far from Nicholas park, the Lycian Trail begins and in the other direction, to the ghost town of Kayakoy (Karmilassos). But we, on the advice of an employee of the Oludeniz tourist center, went to Kayakoy not along the traditional path from Nicholas park, but along the so-called short track, starting near Sunsity beach (the minibus driver will stop at your request). By the way, the tourist center is literally 50 meters opposite the minibus stop in Oludeniz, if you stand with your back to the sea. This center offers tourists free maps with tourist routes and useful colorful brochures about Oludeniz. However, the short track turned out to be a very difficult road - for a long time there were no signs, not a soul)), a significant part of the path went through the forest through thorny thickets, and only after 1.5 hours we reached the Lycian Trail, stretching along the beautiful coast and islands (photo attached). As a result, due to the complexity of the first part of the journey, it took about 3.5 hours to get to Kayakoy from Suncity beach)). Then we went down and took a minibus to Hisaronu. Therefore, it would probably be better to choose the traditional Lycian trail to Kayakoy, which is what we will do next time!

Summary:
Oludeniz is a magically beautiful place that is worth visiting to see a completely different Turkey! It will be especially appealing to lovers of active recreation and hiking, but there are also plenty of opportunities for a relaxing holiday! At the same time, Nicholas park is an excellent choice of a budget and very comfortable hotel with good service and a homely atmosphere, excellent in terms of “price-quality” and simply wonderful in terms of location!
We will definitely return to Oludeniz at Nicholas park, because there is so much we haven’t seen yet in this region: go on excursions to the 6th and 12th islands, to Dalyan, Saklikent and, of course, Kaputas and Patara! Have a wonderful holiday and only the best impressions!)

Boring family hotel 3.
We vacationed in Nicholas Park with my sister in early June. I’m not a fan of the Turkish coast, but for reasons of economy we decided to go there, having previously seen enough beautiful pictures of Oludeniz and read positive reviews about the hotel. We drove with a positive attitude, despite the weather forecast, which promised winds, rain and bitter cold for our entire 10 days.

The flight was postponed 2 hours earlier, so immediately after a hard day at work we had to go to Moscow, from where we took off at 4 something in the morning to Dalaman on an old, but clean and reliable Airbus of the Metrojet company (a.k.a. KagalymAvia ), and arrived at 6 a.m. local time. In the rain and through puddles, in thin jackets and sandals, we found our greeters, got into a minibus and drove to the hotel in an hour, where it was noticeably cooler than in Dalaman. Enough has been said about the hotel area in previous reviews, everything is decent.

The receptionist, represented by a Russian-speaking woman with a strange accent and a loud voice, greeted us as coolly as, in fact, Turkey itself :) So, the hotel:

CHECK IN - after a sleepless night spent on the road, of course, the first thing I wanted to do was get into my room. But we arrived early, and check-in was only at 14:00, and we were offered breakfast (very modest, for my taste), and then they promised to give us the treasured keys. But alas, a miracle did not happen - after breakfast they asked us to wait until 13:00 and then, perhaps, the room would be ready. After that, we, falling off our feet from fatigue, simply went to sleep on the sofas right in the hall. We were given the key about an hour after such a flash mob.

ROOM - 421, 2nd floor, twin. I can’t say anything bad about the room, an ordinary twin for three rubles, the window was the door to a tiny balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The pillows were WILDLY uncomfortable, it was hard to sleep, the audibility was as wild as the pillows. The plumbing was almost in order, the paint on the walls was peeling in some places, the window near the toilet and opposite the shower stall (in the absence of any curtains) inspired some confusion and gave rise to an internal conflict :) There were 2 small towels, 2 large, 2 mini-jars with shampoo (they weren’t replaced anymore, even when they ran out), and on the 3rd day they gave us a piece of soap the size of a 5 Russian ruble coin, thank you. And on the very first day we fought with a spider, again in the bathroom. We won.

THE FOOD is acceptable, but we weren’t able to taste anything really TASTY. They are fed 5 times a day, I suggest you evaluate the schedule (as well as translation difficulties) in the photo. Every day there were salads, just chopped vegetables, olives, a little cheese, sausage, very little fruit (apples, oranges and watermelon, but for some reason the latter was only in the evenings), local desserts, almost all of them tasted terrible. In the morning, omelet/fried eggs/pancakes, at lunch and dinner - something was fried on the grill (I don’t eat meat/fish, my sister was always cooking something like kebabs), there were always several hot side dishes (vegetables/meat with sauce, chickpeas , rice for some reason mixed with noodles, French fries, etc.), and delicious fresh bread/lavash. Good tea bags, incl. fruity and herbal, juice - some kind of fresh water from a machine, coffee - the same. Bottled water 0.5 liters in refrigerators in the restaurant and in the bar downstairs. Local wasps also ate with us constantly. It was quite scary, so we ate very quickly. Alcohol - beer, red wine, white wine, I don’t drink it myself, but my sister drank beer, she didn’t like the wine.

SERVICE - I’ll start with the reception workers, somehow I didn’t like them, it was immediately obvious that their work was “not so good.” The request was made only once: only 2 lamps worked in the room, I asked to correct the situation - they promised, but nothing was done. The waiters/bartenders seem like normal guys, they smile, or even laugh and talk loudly in their Turkish for life right behind your back while you are eating, I didn’t feel very comfortable. They also constantly come up to your table to take away a glass or plate, while asking if we have finished the meal and whether it is possible to take it away, and you, with your mouth full, either nod or take away this plate and ask for more time, they understand, they wait a minute - and again into battle. It doesn’t fit in my bright little head why it was impossible to remove the table after we vacated it.. The cleaning ladies were very nice, friendly, they cleaned every day, if you left a dollar, they would beautifully collect the folds on the bedspread :) The towels were great That’s the problem: sometimes there weren’t enough of them, sometimes there were too many, otherwise I was satisfied with everything about the cleaning.

ENTERTAINMENT - there was some in the morning by the pool, and in the evenings there were boring shows, suspiciously similar to each other. And by the way, it was always very cold. Then the disco rocked until one in the morning. Wi-Fi (slow version) - at the reception, near the main pool and made its way a little in the restaurant. Near Hisaronu there are souvenir shops, cafes and clubs, and a mini amusement park. Everything is expensive. Ice cream, as well as souvenir coffee, tea and halva were purchased at the AZDA store and other markets. You can also take a ride to the ghost village of Kaya for 3 lira one way. We took only one excursion from the guide - to Pamukkale. "3.5 hour drive one way in a comfortable car, a whole day excursion, and even lunch!" - the guide promised, - “And no visits to factories/shops, etc. Only with us! Only now!” We rejoiced and paid 65S per person, but you can’t be so naive in Turkey, ladies and gentlemen! We spent only 3 hours in Pamukkale itself, then we were taken to a wine cellar, then to a sweet shop, then, half dead, to a weaving factory, then to eat in some dirty canteen, where flies swarmed over the food, and it smelled like everything the components died a long time ago and a natural death. Beware. The remaining excursions were taken at SkySports, excellent staff, wonderful people, expensive, but you get what they promise.

BEACH - once we took a bus from the hotel, but the bus turned out not to be from the hotel at all, but from a certain local businessman who runs the beach that the hotel offers. So, we got off the bus and went home, and some man started shouting after us that if we didn’t go to his beach, then there would be no bus for us from now on. So then we rode minibuses from Hisaryonu for 3 liras per person. On the beach 2 sun loungers + umbrella = 21 lira. The dollar exchange rate was 1S = 2 Lira = 17 rubles. It turned out quite well; the last few days they were full and we were lying on towels right on the sand. The sea is a beautiful color, the entrance is painful, because there are pebbles and waves, the water was cold, after lunch the sea was covered with an oily film with some kind of debris and suspicious yellow foam :) It was nice to watch the paragliders in the sky. The public beach is equipped with changing cabins, toilets and showers. All along and across the village of Oludeniz there are cafes and shops. Mostly it will be a bit expensive.

Nicholas Park Hotel 4* From the airport 1:15 drive. Small, cozy hotel. The staff does not speak Russian, the schedule and basic rules are issued in Russian-language printout. With minimal English, any problems can be solved. Views from the pool area immediately to the sea and mountains with forest. The small pool with a water slide on the lower tier is more comfortable because of the flowering trees and the distance of the sun loungers. Next to it there is a small sports ground and a children's corner. We got a standard room with two beds. It contains a small TV, a mini refrigerator with bottles of drinking water (by the way, you can always get it in a restaurant), air conditioning, a hairdryer suitable for those with strong fingers, a shower with lukewarm water, slippers, shampoo gels, a set of towels, warm blankets in closet At night in early October the slightly open balcony came in handy. Wet cleaning every day, pastels were changed once in 10 days. The rooms have convenient mini displays for calling maids or turning on the “do not disturb” indicator. Cons: holes in the curtains, poorly washed bedspreads, yellow stains on the towels, dirt under the beds. There is no heated towel rail and given the shady side of the room I got, drying things is problematic. The mirror by the dressing table has a built-in lamp just at face level; if you look at it while standing, it is very inconvenient for those of average or above average height. There are no steps near the fountain, only inclined surfaces with almost worn out anti-slip strips, it’s slippery there!! There are a lot of wasps on the hotel grounds, take something with you to protect against bites. Judging by the closed terraces and signs, do not enter - the hotel area requires renovation. There's little to no animation unless you're a casual Bingo fan. WiFi is only near the restaurant, not in the rooms. Food. For breakfast - a buffet, some fruits (apples, watermelons, melons, oranges, grapes, plums), fresh and grilled vegetables, canned fruits, various jams, cereals and breakfast cereals, omelettes with pancakes, some pastries, legumes and sausages for the British, of whom there are many in the hotel. The standard abundance of Turkish desserts is completely absent. However, they appear at lunch, as well as meat, fish, soup and various side dishes - from stewed beans to rice and potatoes. Sometimes there are lentils or chickpeas. On Turkish night - the most plentiful dinner. Packaged tea, coffee from the machine, local drinks. Vegetarians and vegans have access to chopped vegetables, herbs, and various dressings to create their own salad. In the mornings, an omelet with ingredients of your choice is made on the burners; in the evenings, pasta with minced meat, vegetables or mushrooms is made. The menu is strangely composed, on some days there is abundance and variety, on others there is minimalism in the choice of dishes. In the afternoon there is time for tea with muffins and baking Turkish pita bread with filling by the pool, and pizza/potatoes/burgers in the lower cafe. The road to the sea is for those who like to walk, from the reception to the water's edge it is 3.6 km and a little less than 40 minutes on foot along the asphalt side at a leisurely pace in shale. For those who like numbers, the elevation difference is 340m. It takes 10-15 minutes longer to climb up, but in the heat it’s a dubious pleasure. You can take a taxi, 30 liras - suitable for groups. Or use minibuses - 5-7 liras per person (4.25 from the stop on the beach to the turn to the Telmesos hotel). Perpendicular to the city beach there is a shopping street with shops, restaurants, exchange offices and ATMs. The beach itself is pebble, the water in the blue bay is really blue, even after heavy rain. There are changing cabins and showers, as well as paid sunbeds and umbrellas. Paid beaches: 7 lire for entry, no significant differences from the city one. In the bay itself on the spit there are no waves, a gentler approach, more changing cabins, toilets and showers. Sun beds and umbrellas 15 liras per piece. Ride on a catamaran - 40 liras. The sun appears on this beach earlier than on the main city beach. Early in the morning there are few people. The Russian speech of vacationing compatriots is everywhere. The Lycian Way begins near the hotel, an excellent place for walking in cloudy weather. The forest with a knurled road is perfect for jogging 8-10 km. Along the way there are several viewpoints of the blue bay. Down from Telmesos there is a shopping street with bars, restaurants and shops. Sellers are more focused on the British, so many price tags are indicated in pounds. Also within walking distance are several chain grocery stores Azda, Migros, Look.
